@shanejensen oh yeah they are still flying these and they just delivered the last one to airtran and midwest airlines a few years ago. expect them to be around for aleast the next 20 years.
@B3rettaZ26 They are still making them, even? They stopped making the 727s a looooooong time ago. So I find it strange that they would still keep making the 717s.
@shanejensen i have no idea but i looked it up on wikipedia which i trust for stuff like this and i also asked a pilot for airtran and he told me the 717 was origonaly the md-90 so yeah. the order of theboeing airplanes go like this 707, 727, 737, 747, 767, 757, 777, 717, and of course the 787
@hotwheels770 That's interesting. Thanks for the info. I wonder why they didn't make the next model the 717 after the 707 back in the day. That's strange. But interesting.
@shanejensen the 717 is an advanced model of the md-90. the 717 was made in 1999 or 98 i think shortly after Boeing baught out McDonnell Douglas. so technicaly the 717 is boeings latest commercial aircraft in service. yes the 717 was made after the Boeing 777 but the Boeing 777 was made after the md-90. the 717 even has a glass cockpit. but yes the 717 went out of production in 2006
Awesome

@hotwheels770 You serious? I thought it would have been in between the 707 and 727. Why wouldn't it have been in that order?
