  • Is it easy to turn in those suits? i mean id be shit scared about flying into the lake.

  • Please be careful and do not die. We are you but only in our dreams.

  • Very Nice! Did anyone else notice what looks like a microwave tower on the slope at 2:12? Damn that was close! I wonder if he saw it or just lucked-out and missed the guy-wires?

  • @spinbaba

It is a dead tree, so there is no guy wires :)

Dead trees can be a little bit hard to spot, but i knew about this one, it was not my first flight on that slope.

  • @HalvorAngvik That's good news my friend! It's really an amazing video. I hope you get top sponsors to enjoy your sports, the best equipment possible, and stay safe. God Speed, Halvor. (wow, that dead tree sure does stick up above the rest ... when I was visualising your flight full screen, I must say I nearly shat!)

  • OH HELLLL YEA I GOT TO DO DIS BEFORE I DIE!!

  • From no sky diving experience, how many years would you say it takes to get to a level where you can start proximity flying? I've read about the progression, but can't see anywhere talking about time estimates...

  • @tarsanth

thats because it cant really be measured in time. How long time it takes depends on

    1) how much time and money you have to do AFF course, buy euipment and jump an insane ammount of jumps, and travel to jump even more when you cant jump due to winter or bad weather on your local dropzone

    2) how fast you learn, and how the rules for wingsuit flying from planes in your country is

    3) how easy you can get into the base community and the avaliability of mountains to jump where you live

  • @HalvorAngvik Planning to take my AFF in Spain this spring, so guess I'll start to get an idea then. Really inspiring stuff to watch; must be the most incredible feeling to actually do it :)

  • @tarsanth

yeah, thats the only way to find out. Once you've done your fist 100 and get to talk to experienced jumpers, you'll get a good understanding of the work you'll have to put into it

  • I wonder how is he even able to fly with such massive balls weighing him down...

  • Who are you and how do you have so much time and resources to be doing this so much?

  • Norway is a beautiful country.

  • Watch out everyone!, it's the Squirrels!!

  • So amazing! Inspired me to change my life, seriously

  • @Mcwesty710

sweet, hope you get the changes you want :)

  • @HalvorAngvik Thanks for the encouragement! I plan to be flying past at some point...

  • Related: :D xkcd.com /962

  • What mountain are u jumping from in the second clip? its beautiful!

  • @Reuben961

    Its bjørketind in eikesdalen

  • How many skydives / base jumps / wingsuit jumps did you have under your belt before starting proxymity flying?

  • @NerdGasims

I had around 500+ skydives when i started wingsuit base, and have about 1000+ skydive- and basejumps now. I never started proxyflying, I just gradualy aproach the terrain once i knew i was comfortable enough to focus on something else than just the exit, flight and pull. If you feel that you have to make a choice to start proxyflying, you are most likely not ready, it should come naturaly and in small steps over a lot of jumps :)

  • LOL The guy is farting at 2:48!!!

  • This.... is the reason I'm starting skydive training soon. I don't care how much time, study, practice, money or distance it takes, I'm doing this shit.

  • lol why would you dislike this? it must have been a mistake

  • what is the name of the song in the second part of this video? It's awesome!

  • Hej

Vad menas med delay när man hoppar basejump?

    Försening med vad ?:)

  • @EAvideomaker

It usually means the number of seconds you wait in freefall before you release your canopy.

  • I think the adrenaline is beautiful in the wingsuit. Norway has a beautiful landscape =)

  • Norway is absolutely beautiful.

  • What can I say...... Awesome ! Is the any where in Australia to get in to this ?

  • @mad6513

nah, closest for you guys would probably be NZ. its much of the similar terrain to norway.

  • you teach me how to do that and i'll teach you how to surf. deal?

  • The people at :52 must be "WTF is batman doing in Norway??"

  • Probably my favorite Proximity Flying video.

I really like all your vids, but this one...! The colors, the line, the landscape, the music...

I guess you never had a 'big' trouble during your base jump session (otherwise, you wouldn't be here), but did you had a big scary jump session? (tangled up with lines, wingsuit teared up, etc...)

  • @sysen

Not everything goes to plan all the time, so its important to have a solid plan b. There have been scary moments, like in most extreme sports :)

  • I recently did my first parachute jump of my life and I gotta say this video is even more impressive now that I have a 'slight' idea of the feeling. Who knows maybe i'll be doing this in 10 years ^^

  • Jawdropping footage, pure lines !!

  • That sport isn't cheap I think. How much money do you spend on it?

  • @Kam3on

hiking mountains and living in a tent is pretty cheap, but getting into base and getting the equipment is quite expensive

  • @HalvorAngvik How much roughly?

  • Det der er veldig sick lol ... Men sykt rått heldig som tørr det hehe

  • how fast do they get up to in speed?

  • @tylrjsph

about 200km/h groundspeed and 250 airspeed, depending on the suit, mass/wing ratio and angle of attack. Usually i fly between 150 and 180km/h groundspeed

  • @HalvorAngvik awesome thanks

  • when u turn at 1:59 and the music rising, i got chills! Great vid, awesome editing work!

  • so jævlig fett, skulle ønske jeg var tøff nok til å prøve lol

  • Is it possible to land in the lake without the use of your parachute? Or is the vertical speed to big for that option?

  • @Snowwie88: I suspect the problem isn't vertical speed, especially for some of the newer slower wingsuits. Instead I think the horizontal speed is the problem. Let's say you are falling at only 30kph but are moving forward at 120kph when you contact the water. You're going to skip off the water at least once, and probably have a very difficult time controlling your second and third impacts. At the very least you'd need a thin flat piece of plastic over your chest and belly to distribute.

  • @Snowwie88

you can flat out the vertical speed to a point where you might survive, but the horizontal speed will kill you. If you are going to land a wingsuit it has to be done on a slope on the right angle, like a ramp.

  • @HalvorAngvik hmm like Jeb Corliss is planing to do?

  • A question about wingsuit variants. Off hand I'd think proximity flying would be more fun, relaxing and safe with a slow wingsuit like Ghost or Stealth. But then I was thinking maybe these are more difficult to control accurately... and quickly when necessary. So my question is, which wingsuit variants are best for "really close" proximity flying? And if you're going to proximity fly but stay somewhat further away from objects, would the slowest wingsuits be viable, or not?

    Great video!

  • @honestann well they are only able to do this because their country has a lot of natural resources and no immigrants, otherwise they would have to work more than 30 hours a week lol

  • @honestann

Speed is your friend, the more speed you have the more energy you have to manouver. big floaty flocking suits will get you far, but unless you can fly them steep and fast its not the best choice for proximity flying.

  • 1:33 how does water get that blue...

  • @dem0nthesis When you don't pollute it and build New York next to it.

  • @Maj2004 ...NEW YORK IS THE GREATEST CITY ON EARTH.

  • @Lifter85 lol this is joke of the century....

  • @Lifter85 not

  • Im gonna start skydive as soon i get some cash :)

  • Remember I was here.Thai 6:44PM 4/26/2011

  • Good images & music Thanx

  • At 2:15 you can see superman flying first and General Zod following him trying to get to him

  • Flying Voodoo doll

  • So...question. Can you pull up in these suits? If you're approaching something too close can you gain altitude?

  • @Oyo321

You can never gain altitude when the only force in work is gravity, but you can change your vertical angle a lot. When you approach something it is important to fly on a steep angle, so you have the option to flat out and gain altitude compared to the object you are aiming at.

  • Absolutely amazing.

I think such a wingsuit constructed the way so it partially works like a canopy? Right? Otherwise I can't understand how it is possible to keep flying so long distance? How close to a surface do you fly and what is the angle? How much experience does it take to be able to fly this way? ..Sorry, so many questions :) Thank you in advance.

  • @1amserge

It is constructed as an inflating airfoil covering your legs and arms, creating lift like a wing or a canopy. You get glideratios around 3-1 with high performance wings.

I would say it takes enough experience to fly this way, how much that is varies a lot, but you definitely don't start flying like this on your first day :)

  • @HalvorAngvik

I just wanted to thank you HalvorAngvik for the amazing and inspring stuff you and the other jumpers do, When i was very sick in hospital, watching clips like this gave me the will power to continue, and its a dream of mine to oneday try out Base myself to help inspire others like myself. So thank you from the bottom of my heart, its people like you that played a role in saving mylife :)

Ive had one tandem at 7000 feet, it was so scary jumping, but freefall was an amazing feeling

  • norway is awesome

  • Amazing.

  • 02:14 holy shit.

  • I started skydiving this year after watching a special on 60minutes about proximity flying and its all i think about now is skydiving. I know you have to have a certain amount of jumps/experience to even use a wingsuit (200 i think) but do you also have to know how to rock climb? also wondering how often you do this and what you do for a living to support your lifestyle? also do you have to arch belly down while using a wingsuit? what are the differences between the two?

  • @XxBIoodshotxX

Its not a bad idea to be comfortable with altitude and have done some climbing, but 90% of all jumps ive done is just steep hiking, so if you dont like being exposed you just stay away from the jumps that involve climbing.

About arching, why do you arch when you skydive? To be in a stable possition for falling straight down. If you arch in a wingsuit, you will still not go straight down, but you will stall the suit. In a wingsuit you de-arch to create a wing foil with your body.

  • @HalvorAngvik Thanks for the info. I've climbed a few times and I was curious as to how you get to the top and how the wingsuits work. I've seen yours and Jokke's videos, very nice flying keep it up. love the videos :)

  • @XxBIoodshotxX My dad dragged me up there on the places where they dropped....its qute a hike but its not advanced rock climbing where you need special equipment.

  • skydiving + basejumping + crack

  • do you listen to music while flying (through the helmet) or would that be...distracting from your focus?

  • @blacklighthc

not so much when I basejump. the noice from the air when you fly is to much to hear the music, but I often have it on for the exit and the canopy ride. Even if i would hear the music i dont think i would notice its there in flight, im to consentrated about the line. I use it a lot for speedflying though :)

  • @HalvorAngvik How focused do you need to be in flights like these? I mean, do you ever in the middle of it go: "Did I forget to lock the car?"

  • YOU ARE FLYING!?

  • what is the music?

  • Watching vids like this and the jokke Sommer vids have inspired me to take up skydiving. Ive done it before but it was tandem, i want to fly hahaha

  • hey,i have a question: for every 100 meters downward how many meters do you go straight?

  • @bogdynitro

300 if i fly on a flat angle

  • What's the first step to take to do this??

  • @drufuss2006

    skydiving :)

  • you guys got balls ^^ very cool vid .

  • Im assuming you guys edited the flying parts to make it slowed down, because the views from the lookout you guys look SUPER fast!! Do you guys have any videos where it is NOT slowed down? I wanna get an idea how fast your going.

  • @jcbball717 its not slowed down, just perspective makes it look like that

  • @jcbball717

Its not slowed down, but the wide angle lense might make it seem a bit slow. I haven't been doing GPS logging in a while, but i think my speed usually is between 150-230 km/h depending on the angle

  • 40000006 daddy hates him..

  • fake and gay

  • @4000006 It's very real, but your tiny mind just can't handle it.

  • Wow just like Icarus but dont fly to close to the sun!

  • What's happening with the orange wingsuit at the end? Seems a bit strange, all the proximity flying then that at the end of the video?.. I've heard someone mention helium in the suit but I wasn't sure whether to believe it?..

  • @philosoful

hehe, no, its a regular phoenix-fly phantom2 wingsuit, but he is wearing a smokebox on his leg. I just thought it was a nice ending shot :)

  • This looks great.

At what age did you start you sport?

  • @TheCosmonaut1

i started skydiving at 26 and basejumping at 28

  • @HalvorAngvik Aah so there's still hope for me then ;)

I'm guessing it's pretty damn expensive?

  • @Moonshine12

Yeah...havent had any other focus since i started skydiving. It takes hard priorities.

  • @HalvorAngvik I heard you need at least 200 skydiving - jumps if you want to do Basejumping. Did you jump over 200 times in 2 years? or did you just do it ^^

greez from germany ! great videos

  • @zockk

There is no regulations, but about 200 jumps is reasonable if you want to have a safe foundation for bigwall jumping. It also helps your progress faster in the base environment. I did about 250 in those two years.

  • @HalvorAngvik wow that is great. So in those two years between starting skydiving and starting basejumping, how often have you been jumping?

By the way, all your Videos are awesome! I'm subscribing, keep them coming. You've got the life I'm aiming for ;-)

  • @TheB1gEd90

I did about 250 jumps in that timeframe. I have 700 skydives now, and doing about basejumps pr. year

  • Du herjer mann! Fy faen, helt sinnsykt.

Kult og se Trollstigen der, hvis ikke jeg tar helt feil.

  • @DasUberCow

jepp, det er to flights fra trollstigen der, en over veien og en over den nye utsiktsplattformen

  • Halvor, love the footage. Out of basejumping, wingsuit, speedflying etc what is your favourite discipline? Is there anything left you want to try?

  • @Dashwood1000

ooooh, there are tons of things i want to try still, but of what i do now it's definitely wingsuit proximity flying i like the most, but its good with the variation and to have different stuff for the different seasons and speedriding and skiing is great to :)

  • Awesome dude! Thanks for the info comments - great for beginners doing research - you're a funny guy too! Look forward to more Vids - blue skies and safe rides.

  • Simply brilliant...very nice footage. Can't help clicking on replay.

Keep safe, because there are people waiting for new videos :DD

    Blue skyes!

  • @Bercseng

thanks man, i have my own interests in staying alive as well so there will be more :)

  • kor mange hopp må en ha før en kan hoppe me wingsuit?

  • WILD!

  • zomg !!! 2:14

  • This is so awesome, how much practice does it take :P

  • @Zisaar

Its not superhard to learn, but it requires some time and dedication because it takes time hiking up those mountains to get the practise. It also takes quite a lot time to prepare to even start basejumping, and from there to start wingsuit base jumping.

  • @HalvorAngvik Is speed flying easier?

  • @Zisaar

If you are standing on scratch with no skydiving experience it takes less preparations to start speedriding, than to start basejumping.

It is two totally different sports, so its hard to compare the two in terms of difficulty. Neither is hard in any way if you go to the right place with the right gear and the right guys, and don't totally fuck up. The main difference is that if you start the right place in speedriding and fuck up, you can try again. If you fuck up in base thats harder

  • @HalvorAngvik O well. Thanks, i rly wanna try this but im too young hehe, il see in the future!

  • Awesome, how did you discovered this for youself?

  • They're making a 3d movie about this... Can't wait to see that on IMAX 3d.

It's really the closest we can get to real flight, so I'd love to try out a wingsuit (but then as a normal skydiver. I'm not one of those ultimate thrillseekers like the guys (an girls?) in this video.)

  • Cool way to live your life , expecting more vids.

Btw if you dont mind ..what music is at the begining of the footage?

  • @Bobojakalin

A bit off season now, but there will be more :)

Its the same music in the entire clip, justice - genesis

  • Looks awsome! Congrats to you Sir!!!

What do you do when your nose itches during flight?????

  • @lobserve

    hit a bush or branch

  • That looks dangerous as hell.

  • BIOHAZARD :-)

  • You Sir are an inspiration, I am new to the sport and will be dedicating myself for the next 2 years to gain as much knowledge and experiance as I can. I hope that some day I can visit that part of the world to experiance the ultimate human flight.

  • @abumumin

Go hard and stay safe! See you suddenly :)

  • Er det Besseggen?

    Der har jeg gårr XD

  • @MrTrondhjem

Nei, besseggen er ikke noe særlig å hoppe fra. Det er fjell i området romsdalen og eikedsalen :)

  • Me17 are you retarded? They are all real

  • @me17represent It is!

    It's a game for XBOX....made by Halvor's Entertainment Coorporation...and prohibited to under 18's....

  • Amazing stuff, I'd love to try this. I have done some skydiving in the past and there isn't too much skill involved, this looks alot different though. So how much skill is involved in this and how long does it take to be able to get to a basic level ? Thanks

  • @xtpawtx

you need a littlebit more than basic level to fly this close within reasonable risks. I have focused on proxy flying every spare time i have, both winter and summer the last two years and have done about 200 wingsuit jumps during that time, but it all depends on avaliable jumps, time, who you jump with and your personal progression.

  • nice. its like a bird fly <3

  • Amazing.

Just wondering how old are you and since when you are flying. !!?!?!

  • Oh my god, I want to be you when I grow up. Videos like this are basically why I'm living in a tiny little studio apartment and saving every penny I have to get my A license and then eventually a wingsuit.

  • Awesome fly!! and so close....!!!! Fantastic!!!

  • how do you land??? lmao

  • Halvor Hello ... this is one of the most extreme videos I've seen my ... Congratulations ...!!!

The proximity with which you fly through the trees and the land are incredible.

I live in Brazil and I am also skydiver ... soon begin to train a wingsuit flight with a coach in my area jumping here in Brazil.

Blue sky and good jumps to you Halvor.

Ah ... where is this platform where were the tourists?

  • IT is in norway, in møre and romsdal. The most famous part of norway for BASE. It is on the other side of the troll latter. Just google it and you will find it =D

  • @NedsonFumi

Have fun, you'll love it :)

this is where the platform is: wiki /wiki/Trollstigen

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I was you.

  • how do you land in that thing?

  • Do a barrel roll!

  • Fantastisk!!! Linjen fra 1:35..-aldri sett på maken! (bra musikkvalg:)

  • @KristofferEngstrom

haha, det er kontrollert galskap da, ser sykere ut enn det er når du vet hva du driver med :)

    safe flights!

  • have you ever had a close call or got injured doing this? thanx for posting up this vids by the way---

  • @junkyman2

only injuries i have had the last years have been on piste and in the park drinking beer :p

  • 1:55 I shat my pants just watching!

  • sykeste jeg har sett i mitt liv!! For en inspirasjon!

  • ENORME!!!!!!!!!

  • That's One more thing to add to my "to do list before I die"! Looks pretty awesome!

  • Great!

  • FAKE

  • @israelislikegermany FAKE are you and your account #LOL

  • best thing to do on this planet
