  • KOC2 = Greatest wrestling game ever.

  • SATURDAY NIGHT SLAM MASTER.........priceless.

  • King of Colosseum 2 is the best wrestling game I have ever played.Saying that it's great to reproduce heavyweight Puro action , if you wan't lucha action not so good. But it really really is great.

  • Ive been slowly fading away from wrestling in general. The games suck. A big waste of money and time.

I was in the local video store and saw Fire Pro Wrestling. thougt it would be a good game for my nephew to play. Ive been playing it for hours now. I love this game.the game it my favorite. even better than WCW vs NWO world tour! well lol.

  • My first and favorite wrestling game ECW: Hardcore Revolution

  • fire pro wrestling my friend got it its sick

  • Fire Pro Wresling Returns is what people call "Greatness"

  • Hey Tslay why can't you use the north and south poles for avalanche moves in fire pro. Don't you think they would have done that bye now. And are you gonna curse me out because I don't like your game?

  • @1981CrueHead not sure what you mean. I just fired up Fire Pro Returns (PS2), and you can climb all four turnbuckles and leap off of them. what game you playing?

  • Fire Pro Wrestling no dout. It has a wrestling ring AND a MMA Cage Ring like in UFC. It has MMA moves and Wrestling moves. HELL it has the Candian Destroyer. SVR is a kid compared to FPW.

  • Fire Pro Wrestling > all including MMA games. I mean, where else can you get Misawa vs Bret Hart or Fedor vs Lesnar?

  • Fire pro wrestling sucks " i returned it the next day "

  • i loved fire pro..i play it everyday..i only wished the wrestlers in the game would scream, groan, or cry when they get hit. i have fire prowrestling for my nintendo gba, dreamcast, ps2, and sega saturn. i love them all.

  • @eastcountybadass Then you have major brain damage dude.

  • @eastcountybadass Fire pro does suck. You know the first thing that makes it suck is it's so hard. And you can't use the north and south poles.

  • Comment removed

  • @eastcountybadass why give up so easily on a game that's better than SvR? You could've at least set the difficulty on 1 instead of just rushing to play a great game.

  • i wish some wrestling company would make a video game using aki engine

  • @crswcw aki engine game are the shit!!!! I would love to make wrestlers from Def Jam: Vendetta on FPR because it would really be fun

  • I hadn't thought about it, but Attitude's CAW mode was the best of its time. I also liked that you could "create" arenas. Going back, the gameplay is retched, but I spent soooo much time on that game.

  • Firepro blows any other wrestling game out the water.imo

  • @wherethepowerlies try playing Kings of Colosseum II (it's based on firepro, but with improved logic, deeper edits section and in 3 dimensions)

  • @IchibanPuroresu I'll give it a shot sounds like fun

  • WWF No Mercy on n64 is my fav wrestling game ever I haven't gotten a wrestling game since SvR 06 since the games aren't worthy enough to purchase. I got Def Jam: FFNY its a really fun game made with the AKI engine from WWF No Mercy

  • Fire PRo is the best!

  • fire pro i think is for the ps1 and is bad quilty

  • @thehhhfan4ever forget the ps1. Fire Pro Wrestling D on the Dreamcast (Japanese) and Fire Pro Wrestling Returns on the PS2 (USA) are where it's at.

  • Wrestling games are licensed games.

    Licensed games suck.

It's just a fact of life.

  • Impact sucked after playing it for a few hours. SVR 09 IMO was bad but not as bad as impact. SVR 10 on the other hand is awesome, and a huge improvement for the SVR series. Fire Pro Returns of course is amazing, but King of Colosseum II owns all!!!!! It just sucks that Spike won't make another wrestling game. KOC III would be epic.

  • There will NEVER be another fire pro the company that makes sorry made it Spike will not and do not want to make another one , it has been 5 years since the last one it was 2 years ago that it was translated into english but after 5 years id say oits pretty much dead. Awsome game though

  • How r the theme song on fire pro? I cant waite to play this game this is what ive been waiting for ,make what ever u want on this game ,i cant waite intill they make with sick graphics .....fire pro rules

  • Great rant! I never heard of Giant Gram, but I'll give it a look.

I love Fire Pro, but it sure hurts my gaming ego that I can't beat it at the hardest setting.

  • I never hearrd of fire pro wrestling intill a couple of days ago ,im getting it ,it looks sick and old school ! looks like a lot of fun to play ,

  • thats not true 5 was pretty much a complete rehall of the game mechanics and so was 2007 tho 2007 was awful and i havent played a smackdown since bu apparently 2008 was good

  • 07 made me sick to my stomach lol.08 was HORRIBLE.09 was the first sd vs raw i didnt buy cause thats when i noticed that it was the same damn game but worse.06 was alright for me though.here comes the pain, know your role, and shut your mouth was the only good ones to me.someone else needs to make those and reboot the wwe games.

  • my thoughts:

    tna: sucks

    wwe 09': ok

    firepro: rocks!!!

going to get import games soon!!!

    z

  • i don't get why the commentary is in video games i think they are boring and pointless

  • no they are telling you whats going on in the matches they are not pointless but they are boring.

  • okay i saying why not just have the old school video game music and have one announcer callin the moves kinda like wrestlefest

  • It sounds dub I love the talking sometimes with music its boring and cant you shut off the talking

  • What I think of each game

    TNA: SUCKED

SVR: Great graphics, but since HCTP, the gameplay got slower and more boring, and they took all the good features. Ex: Backstages and story mode

Fire Pro: Best wrestling game next to DOR and No Mercy. Tons of customization, moves and characters. Gameplay is realistic and fast paced, I love how you start off doing little moves and build up to better ones, and no finisher meter rules, no one should be limited to when a finisher can be done

    FP>SVR>TNA easily

  • Hell the controls in the TNA game where very glitchy I mean I played it but there are some lack of stuff for the game, WWE SVR it's really fun amd you play characters from raw smackdown and ECW, I don't know about fire pro wrestling but in my opinion I feel bad for midway games because a game company like that is gone.

  • If only WCW had survived to have the AKI based PS2 game that would later become Def Jam. :(

  • The TNA game is very glitchy. I rented it. I tried to go outside the ring, I went out, then when I went back in, I got caught in the ring. Half of my character was showing and the other half looked like I was stuck under the ring. What made it worse is that I could not fucking move, so my opponent just stood there kicking my head. What pissed me off the most was that I was kicking the guy's ass up until that point.

  • id like a game that had stuff from every country like north america(us/canada) mexico,uk,japan, ect and included ajpw, njpw, fmw, roh, indies,AAA ect

  • svr=great graphics and abundance of options

    fire pro=every move/person u could want

    tna=playability

  • I've overplayed FPR, I take breaks now and mostly sim matches. Still such a great game.

  • Is it possible to overplay FPR? : )

  • wat u mean over play like play to mutch

  • the Impact game wouldve been SOOOO MUCH better if they took another 6-8months to make more charicters, belts in the game, CAW, and moves

  • Even though its frowned upon I must ditto your comment. Me and my buddy have both said this from the game's release. I think TNA was in a rush to just have a damn game on the market that they didn't insist on it being great. They had a legit gamer in AJ helping in the production, I'm sure he wasn't that high on it after it was produced. FPG was my favorite wrestling game on the old psx. The AJPW King's Soul and NJPW3 games were fun to play as well.

  • I loved Fire Pro G, to me It was the foundation of the smackdown CAW options, Return is good for the ps2, but clunkier than FPG, plus, Where are the default american Wrestlers!

  • what is the name of that tekken based wrestling game again

  • you dont have to mod your ps2 or even swap magic discs

    just use the ps2 exploit

  • Fire pro wrestling returns..is the best..nuff said.

  • when i got fire pro wrestling premium for snes when i was a kid, it turned me into a wrestling fan and I've loved fire pro since. i have fire pro wrestling returns and svr 09 and although svr is a great game, im just bored of the same old gameplay. I've had fire pro returns for 2 months and i stop playing svr after the 3 weeks i had it and went directly back to fire pro,it is just the best wrestling game ever. and America doesnt want to give japan credit for this amazing game.long live fire pro!

  • You been on the FireProClub yet?

  • that site saved my life when i bought fpwr.

  • I think some TNA fans would even disagreee with you. I will give TNAG this: its very smooth with the action.

  • I know there is a lot that disagree. but I still think it's better. but the reason I think it's better might be because SvR games are almost the same all the year, they change soemthing, like some of the matches, maybe on the controlls, and new characters. but for me, SvR 2005-2009, ain't as good as Smackdown Just Bring It and Smackdown Shut Your Mouth. expessially Smackdown Shut Your Mouth, it's my favorite wrestling game.

  • Im getting fire pro returns soon on ps2 because im tired of the smackdown games, If its true and there is going to be a koc game coming to us id never buy a smackdown or tna game ever again.

  • cause the american consumer in gaming has became more spoiled and lazy on their taste specially sports games. Now you have NbA live,Madden,Smackdown and Tony Hawk dominate the genre while games like Blitz:the League,Skate and TnA show potential, gamers specially the major casual market want everything w/ the sink and something easy to get into which the mainstream games do provide atm.also they can be a lit to impatient at times on waiting for a new so when they get it 80% done they whine

  • when i wanna play a arcade game then i play tekken best arcade ever

  • Fire pro wrestling returns is the GREATESS yeah boy

  • agreed!!

  • @RETURNSVD ..you ain't never lied..fire pro rocks like a crack house in the ghetto...now go run tell the police informant that, you haters!

  • TNA Impact video game sucks smackdown vs raw 2009 will be alot better

  • I think the real problem US developers have in making good wrestling games is solely based on the western attitude toward Pro Wrestling. In the west it's viewed as a joke driven by story, while in Japan wrestling still retains some element of sport to it even if it is kayfabe.

The HUMAN/SPIKE Fire Pro/KOC games turn out so well because the developers are not a bunch of guys commissioned to develop a wrestling game; they are wrestling fans making the type of wrestling game they want to play.

  • yes

  • Hello...EVERYBODY!?

  • ITS GAME 1 and SvsR 08 BLOWS!!

  • Truthslayer if you played King of Colosseum 2 then I think you'd change your mind about Japanese wrestling games within the past few years. That was released in 2004 and to this day is still the best 3D game. Since you claim to be such a big puro fan, you need to get a flip top mod for your PS2 and buy this game. It's one thing to watch a youtube KOC2 vid, it's an entirely different experience playing the game.

  • what about the King of Collusseum games?

  • sorry, I posted this before I listened to your entire vid, LOL

  • I like wrestling sim games, but arcade games can be just as fun and awesome. Case in point, Giant Gram 2000 for the Dreamcast. Its fantastic and you can have some of the best matches. Check it out if you havent yet.

  • EDIT: Guess I should finish the vid before posting. But I love giant gram, its so much fun to play, and when you hit a super finisher, like Tiger Driver 91, you actually feel like you accomplished something. Of course the japanese announcing makes it even feel more epic.

  • Meh, for me, the line between a wrestling game that is a fighting game(Wrestlefest, WM the arcade game, Saturday Night Slam Masters), and a wrestling game that plays arcade-like(GG2000) is pretty thin.

  • Gah, I meant Wrestlefest to be in the Arcade-like section... Sorry for the mistake.

  • If king of colloseum is brought to the states I will buy a ps2...Oh and my ps3 cannot play fire pro...I bought it and my model of the ps3 is not backwards compatible...

  • i've been thinking about what needs to be in wrestling games too. its exactly like you said. they need to look at other great wrestling games and use them as insperation. like a frankenstein. but the most bad assed frankestein ever.

  • TNA Impact for PS2 Sucks. No Character Creation?! This is where SvR 2009 Comes in. And it is WAY better than SvR 09. Jim Cornette can SUCK ON THAT!!!

  • I meant: "WAY better than T.N.A. Impact."

  • 1. Jim Cornette doesn't own or run TNA

    2. Why are you buying last gen console games?

  • 1. Jim Cornette is Management Director.

    2. I'm too cheap.

  • that's an onscreen role

  • Okay... Jeff Jarrett and Vince Russo can suck on that!! How's that sound?

  • immature?

  • TNA iMPACT is so poor! Terrible game!

  • Good review. Thanks for your feedback on these games. I hope you make one for SvR09 when it comes out.

  • wwf raw for super nes was my first wrestling game at the time and at my age i loved the royal rumble match in that game so much fun..the smackdown vs raw games are horribleeeeeeeeeee ,,slow game engine and shit ugn cluster fuck i will not even lay eyes on the 09

  • Oh my God Starman? yeah i remember he did a backflip kick that was his finisher on NES. anyway as far as Wrestling games i have played quite many but my favorites will always be the AKI wrestling games based on the virtua pro wrestling engine we got WCW vs the World, NWO world tour,Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000 and everyones fav No Mercy. You look back at this games yet Yukes THQ (not AKI) can't seem to make a game that comes even close to being as authentic DORS were nice but never surpassed.

  • i just got tna impact today i bought it for my b-day i hope its worth playing for ab 2 weeks or a month

  • I love the old Raw for the snes where u could beat guys up w/ buckets outside! and the old arcade game w/ demolition, hogan warrior and the last two guy where Andre and the million dollar man, (w/ Virgil)

  • That would be Wrestlefest the arcade game it was awesome i remember it being the first WWF wrestling game were everyone had their finishers and the Roster you had Hogan,Slaughter, Jake Roberts, Warrior, LOD, Bossman and i can't remember the rest it was so much fun back then.

  • The impact game is the drizzleing shits on PS2

  • TSlay is that import store still around and if so where? Because if there's any japanese wrestling games in the states that I can try then I'm all for it.

  • I want to try alot of these japanese games I just recently got both TNA and FPR both are fun. I want to play KoC and Wrestle Kingdom which reminds me of DoR and I like DoR alot.

I agree with alot of what you said in this vid (and while I like your points there are alot of times I just disagree with them)

  • I'm still buying TNA probably regret it afterwards but just for the fact I'm fedup of playing as HH and the same crap wrestlers I see all the time over and over again each year that aren't really appealing to me as of late except for Randy Orton and Undertaker. I honestly believe the next TNA will be better cause they got the graphics and mechanics done well so only the gameplay to improve on. Thanks for your honest opinion.

  • 09 even

  • i played impact for over 5 hours last night, started out good the moves and graphics are good for the 1st hour or so but thats about it, after 2 hours of everyone doin the same moves it gets boring, you get style points while having matches which unlock moves for creat a character but even after 5 hours we only unlocked about 6 moves. It becomes very boring after a few hours, after a week i think it'd be stuck on a dusty shelf. Its made me not want to buy it, i just hope SDvRaw 08 is better.

  • dont u mean 09

  • u mean 09

  • im not even gonna bother buying impact. i havent heard all that good about it.

  • Games these days really lack longevity compared to games of old. There are exceptions but most games have the initial wow factor and then just seem to trail off and lack depth. Like I say there are exceptions but generally games are way to short now with little replay value.

  • I liked the first Def Jam better because it was more of a wrestling game but 2 was good, The series was better than the Smackdowns at the time.

  • i rather play a game with crappy grafics with awesome gameplay than a game with just amazing grafics.

  • "I think the SD Vs RAW series went down hill after SD Vs RAW 06"

    yes

  • MADDEN!

  • I plan on getting Fire Pro Returns Saturday (hopefully). Need help on......well, everything about it.

Mostly performing a finisher. When can you tell is the best time to perform a finisher?

  • Well, you start off with your light grapples(Square), then eventually, you move on to your Medium grapples(X), then you get to the Hard Grapple, which would include signatures and possibly finisher, I'd say, when you can be able to hit those time after time, you would be safe to try a finisher.

  • Basically, building to your more stronger moves, eh? Like a typical wrestling match.

I like the sound of that. Man, why can't wrestling games be like that? Start with light grapples, only to be able to execute the heavier attacks when certain conditions have been accomplished?

  • Because, the SVR series is a halfassed attempt at simulation, and they want to try to throw you instantly in a situation to do your most powerful moves? But, most in the games in Japan do allow for buildup to your finishers. It's all based on an opponent's reversals towards certain moves, based on tiredness and skill.

  • That's what I like about Fire Pro. Played at least 3 matches, enjoyed them and love the way the game plays.

Still gotta use to the controls though. XD

  • The controls have a distinct learning curve, since it's based on skill, rather than button mashing abilities. I mean, after I played DOR, I could instantly own most people in the SVR games. I do wish they had the Wrestling Dojo from FPW2, where it had a tutorial on how to play, that was very useful.

I had a 60 minute match(game time, well over 36 minutes real time, since IT IS about 9 minutes RT for every 15 GT, the conversion in FPW2) with Punk facing Samoa Joe in an ROH ring.

  • Fanboy. Please do the world a favor and never return to YouTube, okay, masterbubu69? Besides, you are not a master, you merely masturbate and you are a product of a one world government.

  • what do u think about the new ufc game comming out?

  • part of the problem is that the video game companies look at wrestling games like they look at movie games, just recycle stories and give you control of the charachter and their is no depth to it.

  • WM18/WM19/No Mercy are way better than any wrestling games of the last 10 years. WM18/19 have the best gameplay ever and No Mercy is just incredible all around.

Also obviously the people that are making the games clearly believe the games are good. You make it seem as if they throw out crap just because people buy it.

And SD v Raw already said they are having downloadable content.

  • I wouldn't throw 18 & 19 up there as two of the best. Like I said, 18 was VERY incomplete. Career mode was one of the worst ever, and the gameplay wasn't entirely fluid. It was however the first game to get HIAC right.

19 had much improved gameplay, and was closer to No Mercy..but the career mode was ridiculous! So Stephanie McMahon hires your wrestler to kill security guards in a mall? What?!

Now the DOR games were the best on Gamecube. Nobody seems to like them though.

  • Lol even though Wrestlemania 19's storymode was ridiculous i thought it was fun

  • I wouldn't say just becouse people will buy it..though You could say that about any game that comes out yearly with no true revamp..but I also think companies push out games becouse they need the money and know people will be them...I would put Fire Pro against any of those games..not to mention Def Jam 2

  • Here comes the pain is way better than 18 and 19

  • why in the world do they keep taking down anything that has to do with the wrestling games?

  • Does anybody else miss the feature that No Mercy had where you can defend belts in Exhibition mode? I mean fuck if I won the belt in Story Mode, I should be able to defend it in Exhibition. Seriously, I used to get friends together and we'd create our own storylines and shit. It was great.

On a side note, did anyone else think the story mode of WMXIX was f'd up? Gameplay was good, but I spent story mode pushing guards into incoming traffic & off of buildings! Huh?!?!

  • great video man, love ur PRO WRESTLING videos

  • Well I thought FirePro sucked. I just couldn't get the hang of it.

I wasn't a big fan the Smackdown games either. Way too arcady, if that makes any sense.

Haven't played TNA Impact, mainly because I don't have a Wii yet. From what I've heard, the game sounds very "incomplete" which was my comment towards Wrestlemania X-8 on Gamecube.

Honestly, I think the best wrestling games are the WCW & WWF N64 games from AKI, & the heavily underrated Day of Reckoning games.

  • I aree,I hated the shit controls, but there are alot create options

  • Fire Pro Wrestling Returns does not suck in as much as I feel like it is an incomplete game, NYG4LIFE123. I feel like a tutorial mode, a story mode, and numerous other features should have been added to this game, like more weapons, for example, and being able to fight outside of the ring. As for some of those old THQ/AKI wrestling games, I happen to have a few of them myself for the N64 but, again, it is the same story on those games as it is for FPWR.

  • The TNA Impact games looks to be a good engine but they seemed to have half assed it. If they put in more moves, a better CAW, and more matches then it could be great. I'm very confused by Fire Pro. I bought the one for PS2 and I couldn't figure it out.

  • the first def jam was great

  • get off his nuts

  • So fucking what! What does that got to do with Pro-wrestling video games. Fucking pricks man, I tell you!

  • I am doubtful that you have gotten laid yet yourself, danlekhtman, and if you keep trolling places like this in your spare time, then you will not only prove to the world that you are a lying hypocrite when it comes to getting a life but that it will also rob you of the chance to get laid in your life, so why not do the world a favor and take your own advice in your own life?

  • And this is coming from someone who wants to know how is ass tastes?!

  • And this is coming from someone who actually wasted their time to pick on someone and troll around starting shit with people for having a fucking opinion on games? Well, you troller named WECENAUFF, your kind of bullshit might work in China, Cuba, Myannmar/Burma, Mongolia, and a couple of other places but as for the rest of the world, we are not bound by the rules and edicts of Communist dickheads like yourself, so why not just politely do the world a favor and go shove your words up your ass?

  • fuck off

  • No, I will not fuck off because only a little fuck off like you who has no idea on how to get laid will bother to troll his sorry fucking ass on here to say some fucking stupid ass bullshit like that to me and to the rest of the people that are posting opinions on here. Also, it does not look like fucking off is doing any wonders for your own life, so why not do the world a favor and actually grow some brain cells, you mental midget named WECENAUFF?

  • i might rent tna impact but im not buying it,and svr09 looks very good,i have a reserved copy ;)

  • THE GREATET WRESTLING GAME OF ALL TIME IS EASILY WWF NO MERCY! Bust out that N64 and relive the glory years.

  • Agreed! That was a pretty awesome game.

  • Cool nice vid.

I always love your wrestling game vids.

  • I've been a firepro fan since '6 Men Scramble' came out for Sega Saturn in 96-97. Every non-firepro based wrestling game i've played since then has only held my interest for no more than a week if at all.

But hey, maybe that's just me...a friend of mine still loves Smackdown Here Comes The Pain..it's not bad but not my cup of tea. For me firepro is the closest thing to booking/putting together a real wrestling match. I could go on all day about it but there's not enough room..

  • There have not been any real good game from the smackdowns series since Smackdown HCTP from there all the games went bad or at best mediocre.

  • Good Video TSlay but,I do have a problem with EA Sports in the fighting game industry. Yes Def Jam was good agreed but I also know that EA made Mayhem and Backstage Assualt both WCW games. Mayhem was poor and Backstage Assualt . How is there a wrestling game with no ring? WTF is that. I think THQ is currently doing a good job with the games but they have to work with WWE which helps but also contributes to their hardships. I agree with THQ making a game every other year and have DLC.

  • I totally agree about the Def Jam 2 system.

  • I bought the TNA game yesterday and i agree on most of your points.Midway seemed to go for a straight up wrestling game that is fast paced and fun to play.the little details in the gameplay here shine through as the moves and strikes sound, feel and look real as does the amazing work on the graphics.Where i felt it falls short is the repetitiveness of the moves and very limited features that leave you craving for more(side note, the Extras in the main menu is a pleasant add-in)..good vid Tslay!

  • king of colosseum isa great game too

  • Fire Pro Wrestling and Smackdown vs. Raw are the best wrestling games out there today. I think both games give you a good combination of things to do ! Especially if you like creating and customizing the game yourself. The TNA game i know nothing about.

  • i am not going to bother getting tna impact after this review. I too like to simulate matches that is the only enjoyment i get from the games. If iMPACT! shows no effect to the moves you might as well go out and buy legends of wrestling 2.

  • You need sleep, brother.

  • I bought firepro returns for the PS2. and i heard how good it was and stuff. but i can't learn how to do anything on that game.

  • i used be like that w/ this game...after learning and finding help from another youtuber i can do it all...what do you need help w/?

  • basically anything and everything. i have only tried playing it a few times because i just got frustrated with it. but i don't even know how to grapple. every time i got anywhere close to someone i would just get owned pretty badly.

  • i'll reply to you in a message because it's gonna be long...i'll tell you how to do everything

  • Patience. Once you learn the basics of the game, it becomes so rewarding. Also, if your thing is more button-mashing like in the WWE games, that won't work in Fire Pro. It's definitely all in the timing.

  • TSlayer, you just ask what I've NEVER understood. Japan has always, from what I've seen, on youtube, WAY better games.

  • Truthslayer what good japanese wrestling game is good for the PS3? or the Xbox 360?

  • It doesnt matter if its TNA's first game; come guys this is 2008. That is no excuse to put out a shitty wrestling game in this day of age. Especially for TNA. TNA could of put new wrestling moves in the game especially from the indies wrestling circuit. I want a Ring of Honor wrestling game. How awesome will that be and I know it will never happen.
