for the record, Julie has already had jobs up to wazoo a short stint on Desperate Housewives and she has her own series coming up (One that is getting good previews) + she will appear in at least one episode during the next season (that wouldn't happen if they wanted to just axe her.

Whatever conspiracy theories that are being spread are just that. The writers wanted a big ending which meant *SOMEONE* had to die and *RITA* was the only one that made any sense story wise.

It wasn't her decision to leave the show. The writer's wrote her off because they wanted to bring the show back to it's original dark tone. They wanted to do what nobody would've expected. Since, Rita is/was a lead character, they decided to do the unthinkable and get rid of her. Benz said she had a feeling they would either kill the character off or write her off the show because she didn't get along with the cast members and the producers hated her.

Yeah, she wasn't getting along with Michael C. Hall and J. Carpenter. The producer said a comment that she knew that it was a possibility for quite sometime that she would be leaving if things didn't start to change. They were taking the show in a new direction, so she was killed off. She didn't like working with C. Hall and had problems about all the storylines for her character, she couldnt say anything because her contract was not renewed, thus she had no say in what they decided to do.

Again...julie didn't want to leave...they told her they were killing the character off..needless to say there was no need for her so she left. If she had the choice she would still be on the show. But MCH didn't like working with her...neither did Jennifer Carpenter. they thought that she was too prudent. Carpenter said that too.
