  • This guy sounds like a cult leader

  • This guy for president?

  • i wish this video had 7 billion likes

  • Christian anarchist? Wow this guy is more creative than Dr. Seuss, and couldn't possibly create more paradoxical terms...

  • @RandomerBert wait-a-minute. we do have christian anarchist. what the heck you talking about!

  • "Non reality based belief systems" What a great expression! "They need fantasy"

  • It's crazy how 77,000 people have viewed part 1....and then only 14,000 cared to watch the second.

  • @theUSER101 Look at all the distracting thumbnails in the "related videos" strip on the side of this page. I see lots of scantily clad women whenever I do a search for "Chris Hedges". I don't see them when i view videos on other serious topics. Why ?

  • should be the spokesman for the movement

  • @timbor44 I didn't know that.

  • @timbor44 The protesters don't want to destroy capitalism; they want to destroy corporate greed and this kind of capitalism which favors the rich and keeps the rest of us poor.

  • timbor, his job is thinking and writing. You can't take that away, unless you become violent. He shows clearly that you are the delusional one.

  • I think (and hope) we are witnessing the collapse of the old regime of business. Companies and Corporations have for too long been forces that focus only on profit. Along with some serious reformation in government, I think we need a new generation of businesses that can be openly scrutinized. When you buy something, you are casting a vote for the company that produces that item. INVEST IN BUSINESSES THAT PROMISE TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND THEIR WORKERS!...and we need to stop smoking

  • @mikkeyman1984 WELL SAID... We "cast our votes," every time we purchase or boycott purchasing... as I have ALWAYS done... Once enough people DON'T Read, View, Buy, etc. from the Powers that BE, they will LOOSE that POWER! And "freedom of choice, thought and belief" will NEVER be taken away from Americans... And the sooner the Oligarchs here (and especially in Europe) realize this... the sooner we can GET ON with it!! Enough, is simply ENOUGH!!! WST

  • @Omnicronimous the preamble to the Constitution refers to promoting the general welfare of the citizens of this country; Article l section 8 gives Congress the authority to levy taxes. Insisting on a more equitable society and condemning the unlawful expansion of the Executive Branch's powers, as Hedges so eloquently does here, is hardly at odds with the Constitution.

  • I like the part where he starts talking about how stuff the government is doing is Unconstitutional, insinuating that it is a bad thing, and yet he wants a complete transformation of our value system and advocates socialism which would in-effect necessitate the abolishment of the Constitution. If I was a fan of disingenuousness I'd thumbs up this Orwellian doublespeaker-doublethinker.

  • Don't let them distract our voice

  • "christian" anarchist ,...haha what a JOKE ,this guy is lazy he has never read a bible ,he hasn't got a clue ,anyone that has read a bible while know that ,the god of the desert ,is a homicidal maniac ,that far from being ball licked ,needs a good kick to the fucking face ,the CUNT !

  • @badslabber Ever read about Thomas Muntzer or the German Peasant's War? You should, Engels and Marx were big fans. Ignorant troll.

  • @AndrewMann552 yeah yeah what ever knobhead ! :) fuck jesus and allah ,and all the other outerspace dwelling maniacs that ,slack jawed sheep follow ,ya fucking balloonhead :)

  • Think, pray, speak, and act. We demand: Good Health Care for ALL. Equal opportunities to be Prosperous for ALL. Affordable Formal Education for ALL... #OccupyWallStreet #OWS #TakeWallStreet

  • "I believe that in every country the people themselves are more peaceably and liberally inclined than their governments." ~Franklin D. Roosevelt~

  • "I believe that in every country the people themselves are more peaceably and liberally inclined than their governments." ~Franklin D. Roosevelt~

  • I take exception to the inference that belief is "what you are reduced to". Sorry Chris, tuning out.....

  • @whatupwiththatdog Sorry, but I thought he said fear might reduce one to praying instead of doing, even praying stupid things after years of studying theology. He is a true christian.

By fantasy and illusion he refers to not seeing the real world around us but something one would like to see or is told to see. He is not speaking about religion here. Check his other speeches if you don't trust me.

  • I am concerned what he means by "fantasy". I hope he is not trying to say there is no God, no Jesus, no evil, and no return of Christ.

  • If Ron Paul gave a fuck about this country he would be down in NYC and would be speaking about this on the new as much as possible or finding a way to get his voice out there about this. So yea he is not the answer wake up.

  • too many ron paul cult members here. vote for him and you are gonna fuck this country right in the ass more so than it has been recently.

  • Bringing the control back to local people gives us more of a voice, gives the people more control. It is up to the Federal Government to ensure that our rights are not violated. Ron Paul will tell you straight - I don't believe in abortion, gay marriage, etc, but I have no right to impose my belief on others - that is an individuals right to choose

  • Chris Hedges For President!!!!

  • Wrong on Ron Paul. He has been consistent for liberty for years and is the real deal

  • Obama ignores the protesters -- shows whose side he's on

  • IF we are to survive as a species we have to STOP CONSUMING!

Support DoMoreGoodDeeds channel. Native New Yorker. She fled to Norway after being harassed for speaking out.

Google, American Relinquish US Citizenship to Save Lives

  • Brilliant, now why do we not have more like him in the main stream media. Oh yeah Corporate owner ship of the air waves.

  • in a few months - 1 year people will be running in the streets with weapons fuck the feds

  • this is an amazing video , thanks for sharing

  • One of the nations's most powerful writers and deepest thinkers.

  • I hope the cowardly system don't find reason to close your account, too, greekabanaboy. That has just happened to the account that first brought this excellent interview to my attention.

    They are afraid, VERY afraid!

  • It's good to hear this stuff being expressed more openly, Spread these kind of views, they will count more than every vote you have ever made in this so called demoncracy.

  • absolutely pathetic and contradictory statements. And who are THEY? People with jobs who make this country what it is have no time for retards like this guy. The fact that this guy can write books that actually sell and teach at Columbia, etc. make me feel sorry for the future of the US.

  • Chris Hedges is the visonary America needs at this time.

  • As we witness the death of Capitalism, we witness the birth of a Resource-Based economy!

  • A strong argument for transitioning into a Resource Based Economy.

  • THANK YOU CHRIS HEDGES!!!!!

  • Thanks so much for posting!

  • @ 5:30 that says it

  • It's going to take violence to get our country back I'm tired of hearing this nonviolence BS the ruling class and Obama preaches nonviolence but they have 4 wars going if nonviolence works why are we at war it doesn't work the reason King and Gandhi preached nonviolence because they did not have an Army I am glad George Washington and our founding fathers believed in violence that's how we got our country so if preach nonviolence you are against George Washington way of thinking

  • @KYKIN44 that is some dumb shit. Ghandi and King basically succeeded. Obviously India was still kind of fucked up and there's racism, but the world is a lot better than without their actions.

  • You may not be "against George Washington way of thinking" but you are against "write sentences with subject and predicate, end with a period and start with a capital letter way of thinking." I don't want you planning an armed revolution.

  • @KYKIN44 Violence against oppressive institutions is not violence. it is defense. the corporate state is the terrorist, with the monopoly on violence through all of its repressive mechanisms of coercion. violence, as well as non-violence, let alone a variety of tactics are all what is needed to dismantle verticle hierarchy.

  • "God if you get me out of here I won't do this again" LMAO

  • Thank God!!! Even though many of the Occupy Wall Street protesters are a little late to the party anarchists and dropouts have been at for years, it's about time someone can finally explain all of the things these groups have been fighting for reasonably while bringing issues of the Modern Military Industrial Complex to the Mainstream.

  • if we all get together and throw out political bias, we will be unstoppable!

  • Don't agree with his religious views but this video was full of sense. GJ :)

  • you the comsumer decide what you buy. If the people want to support pigs, that is what they deserve, if not, dont buy from them and let them go broke, and let a small business compete with them and dominate them. Google Ron Paul. before you bash him. Capitalism isnt the enemy, its government intervention in the markets, along with the FED. That props up all establishment segments of culture.

Ron Paul 2012 - freedom or tyranny

  • new simplicity, and new humility... how about END THE FED, STOP BAILING OUT BANKS AND THE ESTABLISHMENT HELPING TO ENSLAVE US!

    RON PAUL 2012

  • @spade0o1 Isn't Ron Paul a major deregulator and privatizer? I don't think it's in the public interest to vote for a guy who would put us all in an Ayn Rand nightmare.

  • @AndrewMann552 Correct!

  • @AndrewMann552

That fact that you ask a question about Ron Paul and his views and then making a judgement call on a question you don't know or understand is not the right approach. Wouldn't it be in your best interest to learn more about all of the candidates running for president rather throwing out half-truths?

I thought the same but i decided to learn more. You might be surprised to find out Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate willing to speak truths and carry out his convictions.

  • @jeremymerriamdotcom Have you read the Occupy Wall Street movement's official list of demands? Paul wouldn't agree with probably over 80% of it.

  • Comment removed

  • @spade0o1

Yes, Ron Paul is a deregulator (ie dismantler) of crony capitalism, yes, a privatiser of one's own business. Ron Paul won't regulate your nightmares.

  • @smartiepancake Analyze his philosophy, full deregulation basically means your smaller company is free to be taken over by the even bigger company even more than now, because there won't be absolutely ANYTHING left in the way. Ayn Rand bullshit IS crony capitalism taken to its extreme conclusion.

  • @AndrewMann552 True. Ron Paul is just the next false messiah of "hope", the exact same thing Obama was in 2008. It's scary how people can be so repeatedly misled. How can people be so enthusiastic about someone who would give even MORE power to these private "entities", I know because at the same time he's supposed to do good things to offset it like audit or end (yea right) end the fed, end the wars, and drastically cut military spending. But how's he supposed to that without getting killed?

  • @unfortunatebeam Ron Paul is not false messiah of hope & nothing like Obama. Dr Paul has been saying the same thing for decades & has fought hard to maintain our freedoms & bring us back to the Constitution - look at his record. Look at how corporate media tries to demonize him, that should tell you something. As far as Obama - what real record did he have & did anyone look at it?

  • @unfortunatebeam Not true & it is obvious that you continue to listen to corporate media. He may say the same things that Obama failed to provide, but Dr Paul has a decades long record of doing everything he preaches. He doesn't say "dismantle social security" he says it is unconstitutional & needs to be phased out, understanding that people have been paying into it all their lives & now dependent on it. It is being used now as a account for government theift

  • Free market gives a chance to small business to also prosper & gives us back a choice rather than a monopoly. Corporations are making tremendous profits on the deaths of not only our troops but civilians in other countries. We should not be there - period, not to mention the fact that we can no longer afford to police the world.. .

  • I guess if we believe he can do this, we'll have to maintain a great deal of security to ensure that he at least stops the power grab. He will have a major battle should he take office, things will not change immediately, but one thing you can be sure of - it will stop & not continue to grow

  • @AndrewMann552 You f'n got it man. He is not the solution but it'll be a while until we will be able to instill progressive ideologies that do not detriment the people's right to liberty. This is a stepping stone, no doubt, but it'll be an uphill battle for quite some time.

  • @AndrewMann552 That is precisely what he wants to do. If he had it his way, everything would be privatized at a much faster rate than what we are seeing currently. Ron Paul is not an evil man by any means, but his policies would visit the full fury of the plutocrats onto the world population. His subscription to Austrian economics as the solution to our problems is what would act as the basis to justify the destruction of what democratic institutions still exist.

  • @AndrewMann552 Thank god there's a growing opposition to Paul that actually know what they are talking about. I'm sick and tired of hearing RON PAUL IS THE SAVIOR OF AMERICA from Libertarians when they barely no shit about him.

  • @AndrewMann552 Yes, but he does have the right ideas about ending the Drug War, bringing our troops home from our bases in over 100+ countries and having the Fed audited and put under Congress' or the Treasury's control.

  • @AndrewMann552 The USA, Canada, UK, NZ, etc. are satellite "British Corporations..." The MONSTROSITY of HUGE and increasingly REPRESSIVE government/nace... is what ENABLED these (now multinational) corporations to (along with the UN/NATO) push pluto fascism, on us ALL... AND the FED/eral government have ALSO "regulated" us (public/private cos, and individuals) into the corner! If we don't soon ELIMINATE the non essential gov. "departments", FED, wars, etc... we're ALL going to be SORRY!!! WST

  • Resistance is never futile.

  • This statement belongs to the ages...Immortal..

  • Thank you for posting this excellent interview. Chris Hedges is one of the last real journalists and a wonderful writer and humanitarian. I've posted this on my blog.
