That he is doing his third tour of duty was of his choice. There is no conscription in this country. Those people made their bed and they must sleep in it. I feel for this family, and I am proud and supportive of our troops, and grateful for their service.
But the fact remains that all of our troops have volunteered for military service. They were nor forced to be in the military. As such, they do not have the right to complain bitterly about having to serve. Because they don't have to.

Thanks for the feedback. I had no idea 37 people agreed w/me. You heard him speak in public? I'm not sure I could stomach that. I've read quite a bit about Bill & his father & of course I put up w/his smug smile on YT (his appearances on Chris Wallace's Sunday show). I don't have a TV connection either. Americans tend not to know their history or conveniently forget it. Eisenhower warned us just before I was born. Unfortunately I never saw his farewell speech until Why We fight was released.

I would like to see all of our troops come home. I served in the navy and spent a lot of time away from home. Was in the Gulf the first go around. The Arab people hate us and I hate them. If we need to go to war it should be bad enough to push a button. If its not that bad we dont need to be there. A novel idea would be securing our southern border and throwing the illegals in Guantanamo.
