  • this song was in my school play im in pramiry school everyone was singing "HEY ROCK N ROll"

  • awesome!!!

  • Hey, this is spooky! I designed the tensile structure used in the Pop at The Mill programmes as an art student in 1976, which was then used for the whole series a year later. Funny what pops up after 34 years!

  • Played by the DJ every time MK Lightning ice hockey team score at home !

  • RE NEW FACES ! they was 2 nd did not win in 1974 the winner was a man and a singing dog

theres a story behind that night ask dave if ever you meet him as i did at 103THEEYE in melton

    TOP BLOKE DAVE

    moggy x

  • i liked their early singles (& albums)... the b-sides were good too - had a rough edge...

  • I love this!!!!!!!!! :P

  • there's a short New Faces clip on youtube ;-)

  • I wonder how many times when they did this, Bartram wished he could chuck Allured right out the fkin arena??!!

  • Why do you say that about Malcom Allured????

Was there bad blood between them?????

  • @AmandaMutton they hated each other with a vengeance....something bartram later applied to buddy gask as well...nothing lasts for ever I guess!

  • Nostalgia. Anyone recall when they won New Faces in 1975 or 1974?

  • The backing track is as the single, with the singing live on top of that

  • Miming? I think not!

  • nope tour right not miming lol

  • miming

  • great days

    takes me back

  • loved them in the 70s still do got a lot of memories to do with thier music exellent

  • Great Video mate.....I seen them live In Manchester back In 75, and still love their music.

  • Great video, keep them coming

  • awesome!!!

  • Takes me back, I was there with my mate

Sog, July 1977 just 15, missed the last train to Cardiff, and got stranded in Bristol. Unusual line up Mary Hopkin and Paul Nicholas also on the bill! Crowd kept pulling Paul Nicholas off the stage which led him to film his performance on the roof! Good times!

  • saw sww in '77 at The Warren Countryclub,Stockport. Then in '97 at Quaffers, same venue different name. Saw the lads in there dressing room, blagged my way passed the bouncers, had a chat with the lads and ened up with Romeo's drumsticks.Could'nt believe that the girls were still throwin' their knickers at Dave.

  • This song made me an international phenom like never before!!

  • thanks, very nice.

  • was this on gladiators?

  • in the beginning'when they wrote their own stuff, these boys were the daddies of pop/rock!and they were the hardest band in the land - especially The Duke!

  • Great stuff,SWW was my 1st rock/pop concert experience,Coventry Hippodrome in 1980.

I think this was filmed at the BBC Pebble Mill studios in birmingham which is now just a pile of bricks.

HEY ROCK'n'ROLL ! More SWW if uou please.

    Thanks for posting.

  • This band was despised by genuine Teddy Boys.

  • They never said they were teddy boys. The drapes and crapes they wore on stage was more to suit the style of music they played than the era of the Teds

  • The style of music they played was nothing like 1950's Rock 'n' Roll. It was disgusting that they had the gall to wear Teddy Boy suits with 'combed down' hair.

I cannot understand why anybody would buy their records when the 1950's originals were so much better. I used to be a Teddy Boy and hated it when ignorant people compared me to Showaddywaddy.

  • SWW definitely opned my eyes to fifties music, when my teenage classmates listen to the likes of Sweet, Slade The Runaways, I listened to these guys (and Abba)but they gave me and perhaps a lot of others an interest in fifties music, which lasts to this day. I still appreciate SWW's versions of the songs though because they are very talented.

  • @terrapyn99 you dick, u totally missed the point!!!

  • Im a die hard, and AHYWHERE I can see the wads is good for me.This is a fantastic song self penned by the wads.

  • Hi, I'm a heavy rock fan but remember when this song came it out and it's still an 'AWSUM'kick ass 70s pop song. Many thanks to the person who placed it on 'YOUTUBE.'

  • what the hell happened to king of the jive ?............ oh, now im fkd off........ i was at the front of the stage too !!!........ none the less, without me they were bloody good !!!........ where has it all gone, lots of the music of SWW has gone... some horrible people out there ent there ?

  • more showaddywaddy please ............ NOW........... keep it going, im bringing up my youngest on watching these vids... im just so glad i found them before they got deleted, she is now a fan too, and she is only 12... loved showing her pebble mill etc.. telling her "mum was there"... i was her age then !!! .......... long live SWW

  • Great video, keep them coming !!!

Showaddywaddy930 was doing a great job. Posting loads of great stuff, and keeping the Wads name in the lime-light.

I really cannot see it was doing any harm, such a shame that all his vids have now gone from you-tube.

Hopefully some of them will appear again !!!

  • Totally agree with heyrocknroll.

YouTube is there for everybody's enjoyment, the more that SWW are available to everyone, the better.

Or does the yahoo group, that only has die-hards viewing the lads, want the monopoly?
