It was a 2.0 liters IMSA engine with F1 turbo, built the same way as a Formula 1 engine.
In the end they found out that the front diff didn't work as it was supposed to, so the car was really hard to drive in the turns:P

That BMW just looked like a complete joke to drive, smokin all four of its wheels accelerating out of the turns!! ;-P
Those were the cowboy days though, faaaaaast down the straight then slow slow slow for the bends although not always the case...

Apparently the BMW ran a DE-tuned IMSA race engine!

Friend saw this car up close, it wasn't an IMSA engine....
It was the 2.5 Evo engine with F1 turbo gear strapped on the side!
