Brown-haired lad, you have left me... Chorus: Brown-haired lad, you have left me Here's hoping you return safe and healthy Brown-haired lad, you have left me Brown-haired lad who left from Brogaig I'll be miserable 'til we get news of you (Chorus) Brown-haired lad of the curly locks It was Monday that I got news from you (Chorus) Brown-haired lad of the curly locks I was only young when you attracted me
Thanks, for the response, I see that more interesting responses are posted on my blog... but not many got the right answer yet, so I'll wait a bit more to unveil the puzzle!!
Just by linguistic instinct, there are two different languages in this song!!
One is Nordic, Germanic Language in the lead, and the other one is a tribal language, I cannot pinpoint yet... maybe if you give out the whole song, I can?
Within the Germanic language it talks about RAIN and something small... like a child or a baby! I got it by instinct, since I do speak German! Thanks that was a great puzzling game... can't wait to know if I got some of it right! Very sweet!
That song is so sweet, I know it because I've heard you sing it last summer, and of course I won't give it away now, since others are supposed to get it first!!
Well, it was also featured in the album...

Ille dhuinn chaidh tu'm dhith...
Ille dhuinn a dh'fhalbh à Brògaich
Bidh mi brònach gu'n tig fios ort
Ille dhuinn chaidh tu'm dhith
Slàin gu'n till thu's gu'n ruig thu
Ille dhuinn chaidh tu'm dhith
Ille dhuinn an leadain dualaich
'S ann Di-luain a fhuair mi fios uat

Isn't it such a plus when someone speaks more than just one language?

It's that ancient language that became extinct on the Island up north in the middle of the Atlantic ocean...
