It's а famous Russian waltz "At hills of Manchzhuria".

It was composed in 1906 by Ilya Shatrov. It was devoted to the russian soldiers - victims of Russo–Japanese War. It is so very strange to see this waltz in Onegin!!!

This movie is known in Russia for a very special soundtrack ) Tatyana's "folk" song is as a matter of fact a song from soviet movie "Kubanskie kazaki"

@utilizator333 This Valse is called "On the Manchurian Hills", written by Ilya Shatrov & is dedicated to the Russo-Japanese War & a tragic& courageous death & resistance of Russian battalion, surrounded by Japanese warriors, in which only 7musicians(including Shatrov ) survived. They performed some music in order to maintain the spirit of the combatants.

Both out of place in this film as written much later than E.O. events, the first being a Russian patriotic song from 1905. But excruciatingly beautiful.
