  • ... The ARKII is presently stationed at a mobile home park in El Cajon, California...

  • @725ecx Do you have any photos?

  • one of sat. morning classic sci-fi schlock for kids

man waht a waste of time this was being a kid.

  • i remember watching this as a child.

  • Looking back at Filmation Associates' impressive history,"ARK II" was quite a

departue from "SHAZAM",,as it was a well produced Science Fiction series that

explored the Apocalyptical aspects of the future. the intro says,,"then Polution

and Waste took their toll"-instead of of a Nuclear Holocaust. the studio had wisely

consulted Dr Gordon Berry, since the concept of this sort of future had to be care-

fully told to the younger audience,,this was Filmation's style,of making their shows

    reasonably

  • Every Saturday morning, starting with Bugs at 8am. I remember Danny and the Martian with a cartoon Mr. Hand. This one, plus Shazam and Isis was on starting around 11. This one was on at 12. Isis and Shazam. No wonder we're all a bunch of pagans, now, lol.

  • I almost forgot how hot Ruth was.She made horny Saturday Morny.

  • well they were low budget Sci-Fi shows, and only lasted about 13 episodes if that. and were lucky to have a second or 3rd season like Land of the lost

  • I wonder if the Ark II had an 8-track player?

    I bet it did.

    And shag carpeting, too.

  • Give me a Bugs Bunny cartoon anyday over this junk. This stuff started coming out when I was a kid. It was dumb then and it is even worse now.

  • This is when it was okay for a middle-aged man to drive around with a boy and a woman and a chimp....... lol

  • LOVED-IT!!!

  • they have this on dvd can rent it on netflix along with jason of star command

  • Memories of sat mornings.

  • @ibtnm25 yes memories

  • Wasn't that intro used in a Ronnie James Dio song??

  • I remember this starting on Saturday mornings in fall 1976. A boy in my class said it was set in 2001 and said how old we would probably be by then.

  • 2476

  • This looks vaguely familiar, possibly a show created by environmentalist whackos.

  • lol.... envi whackos... hahaha

  • their mission.. to drive around endlessly and bore us to death..

  • The Ark II looks some what like the Seeker in

    Space Academy.

  • Looks more like the Landmaster from 'Damnation Alley'

  • It does look like a land master actually good point and the uniforms look a lot like Space 1999. I remember it as a kid been looking for some ark II stuff on the net but couldn't find any

  • @starbase121

Ark 2 was the seeker from space academy .

  • @Remembermylai : Actually just the opposite. They designed the Seeker based on the Ark-II to save building a new set pice but had limited use anyway. The Seeker was only seen in miniature though except for the front of the Ark which was removed and placed on the ground for shots of the actors entering and leaving the Seeker.

  • HA! A monkey named Adam. Take THAT organized religion.

  • You mean to tell me out of all the remaining scientist on The Earth, there's not even one Black Person among them? So instead of a Black Person, we get the monkey.

Norm Prescott and Lou Schiener can kiss my *ss.

  • Look, Filmation did their best to be politically correct when possible. Look at Space Academy and the second season of Jason of Star Command. I don't mean to be a pill but just because the producers didn't have a black person in Ark II it doesn't mean that they're racists or anything. They probably just hired the most talented actors that were available to them at the time to do the show. That's just the way it is sometimes in show business.

  • Talent...you got to be kidding right? Ok...whatever. You enjoyed it. So did I. Talent? That's relative. Anyway...there were talented Black actors out there at that time ( I could name dozen), there was (and still is) a plethora of talented Black actors who could have been on the show. If I'm going to watch a show about the last people on Earth, well shit dude, I would like to know that Black people survived on the planet.

  • I mean to say that I don't think that the producers intentionally didn't have a black person star in the show. It probably just didn't occur to them to have one or it just didn't work out that way for them. I don't know why but it probably wasn't of malice intent.

  • No Native Americans or Differently-abled people, or Asians or... or... Hispanics, or... Old People! What about us Old Farts who didn't get represented in the show?

They probably just didn't think the Ark II would look right as a low-rider with spinners and a spoiler...

  • What about the GLTB groups? or maybe they should have combined them.... what about a 90 year old trans-gender, double amputee Eskimo character. oops sorry, um.. I mean Inuit.

  • last time I looked 'Jose' was a Hispanic name

  • No way? Jose? ;-) I was being facetious.

  • @richintalent just say spic for short

  • Ark II couldn't have been a eco-friendly. It must have been a gas Hog.

  • lol

  • I wish the had the whole shows here that Ark was cool.

  • Lord God, we need Ark II now more than ever.

  • Wow, I completly forgot about this one ! Just went through the time warp watching that.

  • 70s eco-hippie indoctrination

  • ArkII needs to go find us some frick'n oil!! toot-sweet!!

  • OMG, I CANNOT believe this is on here. I used to love show and no one else ever knew what I was talking about!

  • There is a clip of this on the Animated "Defenders of the Earth" vol. 2 DVD boxed set.

  • omg I remember this show i could never remember the name!

  • Ark II was a Winnebago experiment that went horribly wrong.

  • Apocalypse POW! Awesome!

  • Written & directed by Al Gore.

  • that's so F@$*'in funny...........

  • FYI, a lot of the Filmation stuff is now out on DVD, including ARK II, Space Academy, Jason of Star Command, Isis.... and it's about time. Actually I barely remember this show..

  • I used to love this show.. no one I have ever mentioned it to knows what the heck I am talking about.. YAY!!.. Finally I have proof I was not dreaming this up!!

  • One of my favs from the 70s.I also liked Space Academy and Korg 70,000 BC.I loved the Motorhome in the show still looks futuristic.

It,s a pity all these great shows were short runs of only 15 episodes, while shit like the soaps go for 30 years.

  • I loved that show, Ruth was a babe. Anyone know where the full shows are at online?

I'm suprised anyone else remembered it :)

  • I have to agree with you, my friend! Ruth was HOT! Especially in that tight fitting uniform she wore!

Funny though, the beginning of this show somehow reminded me of "The Planet of the Apes" series opener.

  • I loved the ARK2. I wanted my Dad to get a motorhome

just like it when I was a little kid and get it outfitted with all the science gear. The ARK2 looked like a giant "Fig Newton" on wheels. WTF happened to us gen-Xers ?

  • Eu quero ver esse filme !! :D

  • hahaha AWESOME. I remember this and watched it all the time every Saturday, plus JASON OF STAR COMMAND.

  • wow! i remember watching this but forgot the name. thanx for posting. anyone remember space 1999 or salvage one?

  • Wow, I remember seeing this on tv when I was really young. This is one of those things that my mind recorded, and then I never thought much of it again after it disappeared, until seeing this now. That is just the weirdest feeling! Too bad this isn't out on dvd. I'd like to see these shows again.

  • I think I remember watching this along with Isis and Shazam. Anyone remember Korg 70000 BC? Hope these all come out on DVD soon.

  • I remember Korg very well, with Burgess Meredith's stirring narration.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting this clip. Wish I could get a copy of the entire show(s).

  • Adam (the monkey) is George Bush's great-great grandfather.

  • LOOOOL

  • awesome... one of my favorites of the good old days... like shazam, isis, and bigfoot and wildboy... all classics!!!
