predicted that in 2000 the West will still dominate Earth, but in the 21st century India will conquer her conquerors. Religion worldwide will regain its earlier importance, and world events will return to the East where civilization originated.
Will Durant foretold in The Story of Civilization,
"India will teach us the tolerance and gentleness of mature mind, understanding spirit and a unifying, pacifying love for all human beings."
thank you for replying life bliss, my love and respects. Shaken i am - the walls that i thought were my life come crashing down around me. as the dust settles i can feel wide open space, but still i cling to the ruins!!!??, thank you swamiji- one day i will fly with you in the here and now
I'm obsessed, is that intense enough. unable to live the material life-ambition, freindship & family have fallen away. food, sleep and work seem pointless. and now you tell me its a lottery! that misery continues life after life until my one in a million chance comes up? i fear enlightenment is just another delusion, that swamiji is playing a cruel joke and feeding off the admiration us seekers have for him. I pray that this should not be true. i glimpse bliss-please assure me its not a dream.
It is like winning a lottery? Wanting enlightenment badly is like buying a lottery ticket? The rest is up to an enlightened master to pick a few winners out of the millions of seeker who also want enlightenment very much? Are seekers at the mercy of enlightened ones to give or not to give them what they want the most? I want enlightenment more than anything else in this world. Please help me understand this.
To me, His comments don't mean the chances of it happening are as rare as the lottery. What I hear Him saying when He compares achieving enlightenment to winning the lottery is about the cost: benefit ratio. Amount of effort required to buy a lottery ticket is NOTHING compared to the result of winning millions. In the same way, all effort that we exert on the path is NOTHING compared to the experience of enlightenment that we 'get'. We don't realize what is available so we don't feel the need.
I want enlightenment more than anything else in the world. Do I depend on the whim of some enlightenment master to bestow his/her grace? Or is it a random chance like winning the lottery? What if the guru of a devout seeker is not enlightened and cannot give enlightenment?
Nithyananda has said that one's progress doesn't depend upon the qualification of the guru but on the depth of surrender of the seeker. A seeker can become enlightened even with an unenlighted guru but even an enlightened guru can help a seeker who does not surrender.
Please search for 'Power of Devotion: Story of Ram Das' in the Nithyananda youtube archives for this.
Since there is no way anyone can qualify for enlightenment and qualification is not needed, is there anything (anything at all) a seeker can do to receive the grace from an enlightened one?
Is readyness to receive needed? How does one be ready to receive?
Your desire to awaken needs to be stronger then any other desire, i think that is the only requirement, the intelligence in you will find a way with master or without
Svamiji is very modest man! If I had the power to give away the Enlightment to the people, He will be among the first I will choose! He has all the qualities, everyone can see it. I do not think it is a lottery, you have to work towards any goal.
I can not imagine my neighbour who has been literally "sucking my blood" for 7 years now can be strike by Enlightment.
Many thanks for posting this video. Many thanks for this message. Many thanks for your unconditional love and for sharing this precious pearls of wisdom.
