Guys I have multiple videos of HR 350z running 13.1 MPH this summer I pulled a 13.3@107 MPH. Number 1 that's a DE 350z keeping up with the IS 350 both run around 13.7-13.8 quarter miles. To be honest the IS 350 is nice car it's heavier and a 4 door sedan and the fact that it's competing with the 350z I give it props end of story no hating....

I just checked the video again. The dumb ass driver in the IS350 had the ECT TURNED ON. You can't get full acceleration with that setting turned on. It needs to be in Normal mode to get better result... and I don't see VSC/ Traction completely turned off either... and that fat ass cameraman passenger in the IS.... what a lame setup. Try putting that passenger in the 350z, turn off the ECT and turn off the VSC/Trac on the IS and see what happens.. it'll MOP the crap out of that 350z..

My bone stock IS350 with stock factory tires, with no weight reduction gets me the best time of 4.7 sec 0-60 (using a g-meter, not the gay ass stop watch some youtube people use). Yes, most definitely. Whoever launches first will get the advantage and can easily take more than a car length if both cars are virtually equal. The Lexus still has the edge from a dig and obviously the driver in the IS350 didn't do a good job launching. I didn't hear no tire chirp. With two people(you in the passenger) in the car the driver should've used a brake-torque to launch, at 1500~ 2k rpm. If both launched at exact same time the Lex would've taken the Z by at least a car or so.
That Z is clearly bone stock. No intake no exhaust. I know what a stock Z sounds like. I own one. BTW this one looks to be like an 06 also. I'd say rather good driver too. An 07 Z would've pulled it pretty good though.
No sorry, the only Z that is gonna pull on an IS350 is one with the HR motor, and thats IF its a 6spd and good driver. I know this because i've raced a dozen G35 and 350Z variants. End of story.
gc86, you are half right. HR motor or not, the '07~'08 350z is still a little slower car than the IS350 in the 0-60 and quarter mile. you just can't beat the gearing on the IS. This does more good than saving a few hundred pounds on the 350z. That's why the IS350, if launched right, still pulls on the 350z. The drag times website indicates this. Look at the times.
also, gc86, you need to compare two equally good drivers on the IS and 350z, not a shitty driver vs. good driver. That wouldn't be a fair race. The IS350, even thought it's automatic, the launching isn't that simple as you think.. The driver needs to use the right setting (VSC/Trac Off, Power mode to Normal) and launch at the right rpm. You can't just simply stomp on the gas and go. This is coming from the experience driver and I own the IS350.

I don't know every bit about what comes with '06 and '07 models but they come either under 300 hp or 306 depending on the years. The point I'm making is, whether it's the older model or not the IS350 will pull harder. Stop picking on a little stuff when you don't know a jack about the gear ratios and how much it affects the acceleration on cars. You tell me a HP and weight.... The true stock HR 350z's do not see low 13's unless the car is modded in some way, with some kind of bolt-on, with sticky tires, and with some crazy good weather conditions maybe. We are talking bone stock cars here, stop comparing it with modded ones. And I do own an IS350, it's an 2008 model with Sport Package. You can't afford it... You are justifying for what you have bought because you got a cheap used 350z.

It's not Lexus magic, dumb ass.. It's due to being an Automatic transmission and has *closer gear ratios*. NO humans can shift as fast as an automatic hence you lose time. Closer gears puts more power to the ground hence the IS350 pulls harder than the 350z. Just look at the times... The Lexus has better overall times than the HR 350z's. Be thankful I'm teaching you this stuff since you clearly don't have a clue about cars.

Go to dragtimes and search "Fast times" for both stock IS350 and 350z. The best stock IS350 starts at 13.228 sec@ 105 mph. The 350z starts at what... 13.6 sec?.... and at lower trap speeds. Also the 350z cannot do 4.7~ 4.9 sec 0-60. My bone stock IS350 with stock factory tires, with no weight reduction gets me the best time of 4.7 sec 0-60 (using a g-meter, not the gay ass stop watch some youtube people use). I even took out a BMW 335i sedan a while back (0-110 mph) in the state road

First of all, I say it again, I own an 2008 IS350 Sport. I paid $43.500 for this thing. I have actually run this car in 0-60 in 4.7 seconds bone stock. Why would I lie? And you ambientflier, that's is not my excuse. Improper power setting in the IS350 will result in poor acceleration. I mentioned those important parts but you don't like to hear it. I know, buddy.

Its all subjective , a Nissan owner can proudly say my 25g vehicle will out perform your Bmw or Lexus. Also other videos show that the IS350 taking out the 350z from a dig. Also in drag strips the IS350 beats the 350z. Also the IS350 has been recorded with better quarter mile times than that of the 350z. It's the driver's error in this video here.

In the video the 350z had a *slight* ahead start. That's why they are about dead even. If they both launched at exactly the same time then the IS350 would've pulled ahead maybe by a car or half car. Also, that 350z is modded. IS350 is stock. 2 people in the IS?

Yes, most definitely. Whoever launches first will get the advantage and can easily take more than a car length if both cars are virtually equal. The Lexus still has the edge from a dig and obviously the driver in the IS350 didn't do a good job launching. I didn't hear no tire chirp. With two people(you in the passenger) in the car the driver should've used a brake-torque to launch, at 1500~ 2k rpm. If both launched at exact same time the Lex would've taken the Z by at least a car or so.

No sorry, the only Z that is gonna pull on an IS350 is one with the HR motor, and thats IF its a 6spd and good driver. I know this because i've raced a dozen G35 and 350Z variants. End of story.

gc86, you are half right. HR motor or not, the '07~'08 350z is still a little slower car than the IS350 in the 0-60 and quarter mile. you just can't beat the gearing on the IS. This does more good than saving a few hundred pounds on the 350z. That's why the IS350, if launched right, still pulls on the 350z. The drag times website indicates this. Look at the times.

also, gc86, you need to compare two equally good drivers on the IS and 350z, not a shitty driver vs. good driver. That wouldn't be a fair race. The IS350, even thought it's automatic, the launching isn't that simple as you think.. The driver needs to use the right setting (VSC/Trac Off, Power mode to Normal) and launch at the right rpm. You can't just simply stomp on the gas and go. This is coming from the experience driver and I own the IS350.

1: This is an 03-05Z with 287hp. You can tell by the taillights.
2: The IS350 LOST. The Z's rear fender was at the passenger side door of the Lexus when the Z let off.
3: If it was an 06, it would have pulled harder in the top end due to the rev-up engine. If it was an HR model, it would have been even worse.

Yea, an IS350 STOCK is not faster than a STOCK Z(DE or HR). Only reason you see vids of IS beating Zs is cuz IS350 only come in Auto which is impossible to have driver error. Most of the time, the reason a Z loses in these vids is cuz of driver error on the Z. Oh and the 07+ Z runs low 13s (13.1) ALL day!
