Hmmm. That seat tube looks a little on the weak side. One good, hard landing with your butt in the saddle and that thing will probably buckle like a piece of cardboard.

@DrSandmann From an engineering perspective, I'd have to somewhat agree with you. The seat tube's angle creates several vulnerable weak spots. However, one would have to think GT's engineers figured out a way to exceed the laws of physics.

Not necessarily. To be totally honest, I don’t think that bicycle frames are as “engineered” as the manufacturers claim they are. I seriously doubt that they have all of this computer software to analyze stresses and so on. The seat tube looks flimsy. And unless they used some sort of special metal for it and some special type of weld, I would pass on this frame....especially if you’re a heavier rider.
