  • She's pretty old and weaker and was kind of in shock so she didn't put up as much as a struggle as I expected. I also made sure her claws were trimmed. It's really important to thoroughly rinse the shampoo away though, because what might seem like a little amount of shampoo is alot to such a small creature and could cause harm when they ingest it.

  • I washed my cat tonight for the first time ever. I have a tub/shower with glass doors so I got nekkid, started the shower (on the quietest, gentlist setting at a warm temp), snatched her up while she was dozing, ran into the tub and closed the doors. She was all frantic and everything about being trapped but I was right in there with her and maintaining eye contact with her and talking to her in a soothing voice throughout, so she didn't start yowling until I spent a few minutes rinsing her off.

  • Isn't she or he to old to be held like that I don't hold my cat like that because he is to heavy but he is only 5 months Hmmmmmmm

  • my cat is just like that :) very hard to wash

  • Oh I thought you said "It's ok Alderaan", And just lost it completely. But yeah.

  • just put it in a kenal with soap already rubbed on then hoes the cat down with a fire hoes and then let it run around to dry off

  • Your cat stinks? You should see a veterinarian. Cats should never be dirty.

  • OMG poor kittiy its like hes ganna kill him waaaaa:(((((

  • Ok, I Got half of him into the water but that's all I could do. :)

  • My cat would Freak out so badly! I couldn't even get him in the water!

  • I think this is so funny!!! I like your system : )

  • NEVER, EVER use a people shampoo (even baby shampoo) for a cat!!! Cats are very sensitive & using such toxic chemicals is abuse. The best way to give your cat a bath is to use a hand-held sprayer with warm water. NEVER hold an adult cat by the scruff!! Cats are much more sensitive than people & you scared the hell out of him. Great job parenting. Next time, think about your cat first. If he smells, you're probably feeding him crap from the grocery store. Stop scaring your poor cat!!!!!!!!

  • @katelagniappe hand held sprayer...never thought of that! thanks! and yes..hes holding the cat wrong. i feel so sorry for the kitty :(

  • you can hold a cat by the scruff of its neck but don't carry him by his skin at his hind - it will hurt! You are lucky he took it well. Both my cats would have scratched your arms off. We do it in a large shower with buckets of warm water ready as they hate the shower head and it's easier and quicker to use large jugs full. We strip down as we always get soaked and wear gardening gloves. They scream like hell but a bowl of their favourite food in front of the fire usually helps:)

  • You did good for your first time, same for the cat. Scruffing is a very useful tool in washing cats, especially when you have to wash an older cat. Next time try a few inches of water and apply the soap directly to the cat. Then run the tap and rinse him under it.It may make things easier.

  • wouldn't it be easier to wash the cat in the bath tub. You hold him to rough.

  • u really thought this one out. ull still come out with cat scratches.

  • Amazing how these cute little creatures turn into demons as soon as water is introduced. Personally I wash my cat dressed like a Michelin Man to preserve my skin. Top tip. Once you have the critter by the neck scruff DO NOT LET GO! I did once, now my curtains are in tatters!

  • my cat is a manx and doesnt do anything in water becuz we got him from a shelter and he used to since he was a baby becuz he used to have fleas so yea some cats can get used to it

  • haha, Ive done this a few times in the tube.

I felt bad scruffing too. You really have rinse completely, because the left over soap will dry and itch their skin.

  • At your "success" it sounds like you said "sucks ass". Either way, good work with your washing "machine". I was planning on giving my cat a bath, but wasn't sure how. Your video was the best idea I found on youtube. Thanks!!!

  • LOL..this is a very good kitty esp if she never had a bath before-and to those that think you never have to bathe them,NOT TRUE-gawdforbid a flea outbreak -not all of us put chemicals on them--you wash them and washing them keeps them healthy ,keeps the fur clean so they're NOT ingesting whatever they're exposed to from grooming themselves all the time and prevents hairballs because loose hair gets washed off-best to start the routine when their babies, then they're used to it-&it's not so bad.

  • i dont know why but LOL !! i just laght so much of the man..poor kitty ! :D

  • maybe it was a flee bath they can bath theirselves but not flee bath themselves!!

  • lol... I knew at the beginning of the video you were in for a bit of a treat not having done this before.

  • You need the PetSpa :P

  • their fur can get greasy, and they get dandruff, so you do need to give them a bath twice a year. Clip their claws first, though!

  • why do you even need to wash cats? They wash themeselves. They are not adopted to washing damn it!

  • success but the puttycat was not bathe and rinsed thoroughly. the tub is the best place for the chore or bettter is let that putty take a shower with you.

  • lol

  • I never get scratched by my cat when i bath her, probably cause I hold both her front paws in one hand as I use the other hand to lather her up with soap/rinse/dry. And I do it in the tub so there's less splashing.

  • lol looks like your holding down a 200 pound man

  • i like how you talk to cat ,its so sweet

  • man cat baths are cruel 2 watch lol. cuz most cats hate water -_-" such a hard task.. ur lucky ur cat is calm.. my cat is a animal he would like bite my arms off and id bleed 2 death. LOL

  • "I'm Sorry . . .. Don't Kill Me . .."

    "SUCCESS!"

Aw, you poor thing. You feared for your life.Congratulations on your first sucessful kitty washing. And no trip to the emergency rooms or questions about why you slit your wrist in the water. . . Nobody ever believes that it happened while bathing the cat. "No really nurse, I was bathing the cat, I don't need therapy"

  • Thats not the best way to hold a cat???

  • DID not like the way you were holding him sorry

  • Heres a tip, its called a nape, and when theyre kittens they get picked up by that, if you hold a cat correctly by that they will relax. Its a very thick and tough part of the animals pelt and it very durable. Dont know about the back but it was only for a couple seconds.

  • @aussiedude248 wow brandon!!!

  • @aussiedude248 wow!

  • didnt like the way u picked your cat up, by the back and the neck, but it seemed to work ok:P you could hear him screaming as you were bringing him in, lol

  • it's easier just to use the wasing machine

  • I've never thought to do that. Usually when we wash our cats, it turns into a family event. Most of us hold on to some part of the cat while someone washes and rinses. We had this cat one named Worf. He was something else. Normally our cats would give up after a bit of struggling but Worf was a very strong cat and wouldn't give up. Many times he'd fight so hard that he'd escape and hide under the bed where we'd leave him because he bites really hard and we've had to get stitches before from him

  • LOL! I'm sorry!

    Good job!

  • LOL he sounds like the cats gonna kill him afterwards or something.

  • the end is so cute, how the cat looks all wraped it the towel :3

  • THis is literally the best how-to cat bath video. I want to try this but my two sinks next to eachother are not big enough. :( :(

  • Definitely don't wash cats by hand. They're much more suited to machine washing, preferably in a commercial sized machine, such as those found at a laundromat.

  • HAHAHAHAHA! Good shit!

  • Should I use a Kenmore or Maytag washer?

  • @Jeff701 Have you ever seen how cat mothers carry their young?

  • @mikejr879 yes but when hey are older it is painfulf for the cat as they increase in size

  • Aww you washed him so nicely.

You even said sorry haha, Your a nice person =D

  • :lol , it not clean at all !

  • Lol....I Wash My Kitty Rolex In My Mommys Tub im Pretty Good At Washing Him Because He Doesnt Complain or meow........Unlike Your kitty Because You kitty looks very strong

  • Your cat's name is Oberon?! I take it you too live in michigan and love beer!

  • "Meow!"

    "Im sorry!"

  • "Christ, you're strong..."

    LOL

  • cat is not saying no :O

  • ha hahahahaha

  • XDDD nice

  • wow they should invent catwashingmachines :D

  • Good job!

  • Jesus, no way I could wash mines alone. Good job.

  • Good job!

    Live long and prosper.

    ;)

  • use cat shampoo ftw

  • my cat is sitting on my lap with an expression of "right...". Tried that on mine once, it almost made me julliene fries in under five seconds. =^..^=

  • don't catch cat like this , poor cat :'(

  • yer i agree cats dont need to be washed they can clean themselves!

  • this is a cat, not hamster lmao

  • my best friend washed her hamsters...

    xDDD no, really she did!

  • well clearly not all of them if his one is smelling because it didnt clean itself

  • many male cats don't clean themselves.

  • @tolip0 that is actually THE way to hold them without hurting. That is exactly how mom cats carry their babies. Instinctively cats calm down when being held like that. ;)

  • @tolip0 it's how the mother cat holds them.

  • ya.. that baby wash is not good. lavender flavored too... good smell to you, bad for cat cat who'll be eating the remainder of it as he tries to undo the mess you made.

:3 looks like you missed both ends: head and butt butt

  • Where is my EPIC LULZ? I was waiting to the last moment for EPIC LULZ but did not detect any... :/

  • LOL!!! Poor kitty - mission accomplished tho :-D

  • the cat didnt seem to happy

  • Dude your hott!! <3 and smart...lol

  • i used the tup when i had to give my cat a bath and he ran in a cirle so fast around the tub, he was running on the walls a little bit. this is great to do so they cant get away. 5/5

  • they*

  • Well Done its a pain washing cats and when the stink you have to do it. When i cleaned one of my cats i had to dry her with a towel and blow dryer... Yet she still smelled after wards cause water and cat hair isn't a good combo. I stuck her in front of the heater with the other cats... and they licked her to get extra clean.

  • But don't u think u did not wash his head?

  • great job.... you didn't get scratched. I'll have to try it with my bengal.

  • small tip, get a cat harness to make it easier to hold on to him. had to do it when i had to wash 10 cats in one day, lot easier, had a few devil cats

  • Nice...always remember never set anything around the sink...nothing at all...less clean up

  • I will post up my way next time i do the cats baths. But yours is pretty good too.^^ nice job

  • that was a good job I reckon, wd!

  • Is that Johnson and Johnson for babies? Don't use human shampoo on dogs/cats.

  • you sound like a woman
