Ay Khedma! I missed Eid in Egypt this year, and so despite enjoying it with my family in England, I missed the festive, majestic Takbeer in Egypt! Hope you all have a wonderful eid wherever you are, and that enjoyed the Takbeer whatever it was! :-)
Eid Mubarak everyone, thanks a lot for the brother who put this up, in our mosque(Islamic Society of Central Jersey)we say this takbir,so spiritual and everyone loves it, we have a big non-arab community and they all just love it, Jazak Allah Kheir we kul amm we kul el muslemin bekheir we amn we salam
Well, im glad to hear u all do the Egyptian / Fat7 Makka takbeer for Eid. I actually came across a mosque in Lebanon yesterday that does the same takbeer! was very happy. Nevertheless, unless Egyptian or Sufi, every mosque I've been to in England and Europe do the shortened Saudi takbeer which is obviously what you get if u go to KSA or other Gulf Countries.
Anyhow, happy Eid for those celebrating today, and also for those celebrating tomorrow! Kol Sana Wento Tayebeeeen!
My brother, according to the Sahihitayin, it's actually the "shortened" takbeer that is practiced over most of the countries that when back to the Sunnah to get the correct takbeer for the two Eids :) The addition of praising Sayyidna Muhammad (S) is not mentioned any where in the Sunnah. Wa'salamu alaykom wa'kol am wantom be'khayr.
Brother, please give us a break and stop lecturing us on Sunnah and what have you. Do you wanna tell me that praising the Prophet in Takbeer el Eid is 'wrong'? or not from the Sunnah? I mean come on! The shortened takbeer is in my opinion neither spiritual enough nor 'feasty' enough for Eid. And i'm sure the authenticity of the takbeer isn't as important as its impact on society!

Stop lecturing? My brother, forgive me for offending you based on the haqq. But, neither you nor I can find any where in the Sahih Ahadith that the Prophet or any of his companions EVER made Takbeer based on the one you heard in your clip. I must admit, it is beautiful. And it's "feastiness" is indeed beautiful. But, desire is the first cause of bid'ah (innovation). And, I won't fall to bid'ah just because I think something is "feasty" and desirable. I only gave my advice. Salam Alaykom.
Fair play, please dont fall to bid'ah then! But let me remind you and every other Salafi/Wahabi who claims to STICK to the sunnah that the Prophet said there shall be two types of Bidah, one that is HASANA and whose innovators and followers will be rewarded alike, and one that is not. Hence the merits of Ijtihad. Once you start believing in the duality of Bidahs we could perhaps start appreciating things as wonderful as this Takbeer.
Muhiful..... I am from Algeria and I grew up listening to this Eid chanting on Eid day. It sure made me feel happy to wake up listening But I never asked my self is this the prophet's tradition or not.? So I guess many Muslim countries are doing it not only Makkah and Egypt. we need a lots of awareness but we should give advice nicely to each other. "bmwyalla" is saying ugly wahabi, I think he should not be offensive to his Muslim brothers (yalla... Eid Mubarek)
@AllahCreatedMe : give evidence mate, and read my comment above to Mutiful, it goes for u aswell. i just dont get it man, small people like u who know nothing are trying to teach the scholars how it is, ur peti that wat, why do u pretend that ur the most knowledgeable person in the arab world
Astaghfirullah Al3atheem! I am not the person to be told this!! I LOVE Misr and I love to learn and respect all the true scholars. You mentioned Sheikh Tantawi (may Allah forgive him) when he said that the niqab is NOT FROM THE DEEN! You think that is what scholars should be saying? Do you think YOU are a knowledgeable person who has the right to accuse everybody around of "trying to teach the scholars"? If we wanted to start teaching someone, we'd start by teaching people like you.
Now, why dont you find one HADITH of the prophet (S) that even mentions that these words were said by the prophet (S) on eid. The prophet used to say "takbeer" but the words people chant nowadays are from a da'if hadith that narrates these words while the prophet was praying once, wallahu A'lam.
Aren't you afraid that you could be spreading a bid'ah? May Allah forgive us all (including me for any mistakes) Ameen!
@Muhiful: who are u 2 say anything, egypt has the most scholars in the world, with the highest islamic figure in the world, sheikh mohammed tantawi, u are just a small person whos on his computer, who are you compared to the grand mufti's of egypt, ur nothing, they are the scholars and the skiehks, i think they know best
I'm from America, born and raised, and just wanted to say that every mosque i've ever been to for eid, which includes masaajid in DC, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, have all done this exact same complete takbir for the Eid. So i'm not sure what communitites you all went to that shortened it. But please don't think that ever community in America is the same.
actually the takbir of "Allahu akbar Allahu akbar w lellahi el 7amd" is the real Eid takbir; the takbir we say here in egypt is takbir fat7 Makkah.....wallahu a3la w a3lam
Allah Akber... I miss this Takberat since i came to United States five years ago. In any Eid they don't complte the whole takberat just ....Allah Akber allah akber wa llah el hamed.... And that it my be they do this for the non arab muslim. any way i uesd to say the whole taberat in Eid pryer back home in EGYPT.
meero, well... ive been missing this takbeer ever since for ever really. and no, they dont 'simplify' the takbeer into what we hear in england or the usa for the same of non-arab muslims: rather, egypt has its unique takbeer. in most middle eastern and arab countries ive been to, takbeer is the very boring repetitive one you hear in the USA. Egypt's takbeer is a very unique egyptian innovation thanks to our very peculiar take on religion! bless us. i miss it.
