The hole is actually just a little lower on the body and I couldn't fit it on the paper. The hole is actually supposed to be where his "heart" would be. Atleast I read that in the story once I think.

yeah ulquiorra's first release is pretty darn awesome, but before i draw him i want to draw his normal form very good and a whole lot faster, i just drew my version in about the same pose as you did and it took me like an hour (just a few minutes after my last post here :P)

Everyone will have different preferences, so yeah, it's completely up to you.

It's just that in my older videos (Like this one), I used to start on that side, so as you worked over, your hand wasn't smudging it.
