Most small breeds need to be with the mom and litter mate for at least 8 weeks old so they can learn basic social doggy skills from their mom & litter mates.

Also other important skill such as bite inhibition.

The full 8 weeks' time the pup spend with it's mom & litter mates will make the pup a better adjusted pet in the long run.

you seem to be a pretty experienced breeder...is 6 weeks a good age to take a puppy home? my little Lucy is only 3 weeks old currently, but I have a whole week off when she turns 6 weeks old to bring her home
