I just ordered a family pack. I should have a few licences free after my two macs so i can play around with hackintoshes legitimitely :). for me it was the speed improvements, combined with the fact i needed a reason to wipe my bloated macbook anyway. The better use of multiple cores, and general refinements made it worth it for me.

I have to say I wont be upgrading... Mainly because I was on PPC and thats no longer supported. I cant justify going on £1000 for a new mac anymore... just epent 300 quid and built a top end windows box... Sad I know but Ive switched back...Money over shiny today im afraid... YES! I'm getting it. There's almost no reason NOT to besides of incompatibility issues. I think those will be fixed after awhile. I think the enhancements are well worth it. The features that were added to me aren't that amazing. But for better rendering in Final Cut and squeezing more power out of my computer is awesome.

Give me some good reasons why Vista would suck.

I've been using Vista for over a year now and it's a lot faster than Windows XP, if you're hardware is good enough that is.

Vista has better multicore support, it has many optimizations, the interface is a lot more logical, it's more user friendly, it's more stable, the Aero theme lowers the CPU usage, it's more safe.. I could go on and on about this.

I just think that people who say Vista sucks don't know anything about Operating Systems.

I don't experience your problems with Vista at all. And I've been using it intensively over the past 1.5 years. With what kind of programs are you experiencing difficulties? Because maybe those programs are simply not compatible with Vista.

in some cases maybe but sometimes vista just does not want to work, i remember instaling a game called manhunt and this thing called "DEP" (i think) was stopping it from running and it took a while but i managed to turn off "DEP" and play the game fine also some xilisoft video conversion software crashes on start up and the fact that u need more powerful hardware to run the same games on vista then it does on xp says a lot about vista and how it could have been made mush more efficient.
