I have to be honest, I have never seen this type of football before. It looks like a mix of our American football with some soccer and rugby elements. Playing without padding, jumping on people, and some hard hits, it looks kind of interesting. Wonder how many injuries are expected per game O_O Personally, I like American football better, but that's probably because its a game I understand more I guess. I may look into this sport though, see what its about and such. Nice upload.

AFL is the best sport in the world. Best to watch and most fun to pay. Soccer is highly skilled, but there is no courage element and it is too low scoring. Rugby is tough, hard, courageous, but one directional and without skill, played mostly by brainless thugs. AFL combines the best of all football codes and other sports and is always exciting to watch.

NFL guys are built for speed and taking hits yes, but theyre chargin rhinos, One direction, AFL is a 360 degree game, you have to be realy cunning to survive out there. In footy a defender has an equal chance of getting the ball, unless the player is free its a 50/50 contest. It is actually growing in popularity in numerous countries; Japan, US, Ireland, South Africa, England etc. and yes while many may be ex-pats there are still a lot of people who had never heard of the sport before who love it. But I do concede that it has got a long way to go to be as popular as soccer or league and union around the world, doesn't mean it won't happen.

@VanDoodah The reason why AFL players are skinny its because of all the running they do. NFL players especially the ones that block wont last. Big muscles doesnt mean good condition. Muscles require oxygen and if your cardio is not up to par with your muscles, you will gas and fatigue faster. The NFL combine is a joke, running yards and lifting one rep of 500 lbs. Run for an hour nonstop and many reps. No downs to rest. These guys have training of a pro fighter, NFL guys have bodybuidling

AFL is crap. Sorry but it had to be said. It has no structure whatsover. FAIL. In every invasion sport the defender must have an equal oppurtunity to stop attacking player from scoring. FAIL How do you defend against somene who can score from anywhere on the field by simply punting it? Answer: you cant. FAIL. In union, league, basketball, footballetc the attacker must actually get past defender, but in AFL all ya do is boot the pill over their heads.FAIL FAIL FAIL

In footy a defender has an equal chance of getting the ball, unless the player is free its a 50/50 contest. You cant score from anywhere because nobody can kick a football more than 70m you tool, the field is over 150m long so that comment is a FAIL. Footy players get past opposition aswell and its harder to do coz its a contact sport. so fuck off and stop being jealous.

One clown can just punt the pill from anywhere on the field, while the rest of the clowns on his team can camp by the posts to scoop up the pill in case he misses. FAIL. It is actually growing in popularity in numerous countries; Japan, US, Ireland, South Africa, England etc. and yes while many may be ex-pats there are still a lot of people who had never heard of the sport before who love it. But I do concede that it has got a long way to go to be as popular as soccer or league and union around the world, doesn't mean it won't happen.

HAHA u only have to compare to the crowds of the NRL and the AFL to proove which sport is better, NRL barely averages 8000 a game where as afl gets a minimum of 20 000. In a normel season game (collingwood vs geelong) on a friday night there was 96 000 people, pretty sure NRL could NEVER match that. @VanDoodah The reason why AFL players are skinny its because of all the running they do. NFL players especially the ones that block wont last. Big muscles doesnt mean good condition. Muscles require oxygen and if your cardio is not up to par with your muscles, you will gas and fatigue faster. The NFL combine is a joke, running yards and lifting one rep of 500 lbs. Run for an hour nonstop and many reps. No downs to rest. These guys have training of a pro fighter, NFL guys have bodybuidling

The NFL combine does not involve lifting one rep of 500 lbs. Players are expected to show how many reps of 225 lbs they can do, unless they want to do more.
These AFL players are good athletes, yes, but I am fed up of hearing Aussies trolling NFL videos calling footballers fat and claiming that these guys are...
