all you liberal's can put your family in a little battery powered golf cart and travel across country if you want but I want a dependable 8 cylander gas burner to transport my family. I hope your battery doesn't go dead da hood.
an equally valid alternative is to reduce our dependency on oil. better now since we will eventually have to.
many renewable alternatives exist and we have this choice. if the ecology becomes damaged, we will not necessarily still have a choice that allows it to exist the way it once was.
this statement seems bizarre in a time when our economy is supposed to be struggling.
a possible explanation for why there is so much money available for oil job salaries is that this economic flow is balanced by an economic expenditure of equally vast proportions.
an expenditure which in fact is so large that only the american people as a whole could support it through their tax contribution.
the question really is, does the majority of americans morally support and desire this expenditure?
Gee, we already know that there is a site off the coast of ALASKA with a huge supply of oil, why do we need to explore? If you don't want to believe Lindsey Williams, than go to Pat Robertson's site and watch the video where he is asked about it and he admits that there is a SECOND site, but says that it doesn't have as much as Williams is claiming.
Okay, Yesterday a florida talk show host said that 100 billiion tuns a day is EXPORTED from the USA! "One big worldwide oil pool" he said.
There's no such thing as American oil any more. These are multinational corporations. If you let multinational corporations drill for all this oil, they're going to sell it to the highest bidder, whether it's China, or India, it doesn't matter. Why would we throw away America's beauty chasing the lost drops of oil, so multinational corporations can sell it to India and China? Because the oil companies own the Bush administration, just as the Bush/Cheney cartel owns so much oil company stock.
ok here we go. ethanol is the biggest #%#$ load of #$#%. rises food prices, wastes food, which could be solving world hunger. drill in alaska WOOT and FUEL CELL is way too go
The bottom line is that all Republicans are scared. Their way of life is dying like the dinosaurs and cavemen they imitate. They see the future and relies that they aren't compatible with it. When the terrorists hit the US they relised that they are vulnerable for the first time. Months later Democrats wanted to fix the situation, Republicans wanted to kill people. Republican's are scared. That's the bottom line.
500, 2000 other people were also killed. It was a mistake and that's the bottom line. There was no reason to seek out vengeance. That would just escalate things. All we could have done was kill a ton of people most of which had nothing to do with the 12 US personnel that were killed. 500 to 2000 others were killed that day, it was a lot more complicated than a bunch of Somalians killed Americans. Clinton did the right thing by far. And this is coming from a guy who's father died in vietnam.
You know the Republicans have the record for most filibusters, thus making the dems look bad. When the Dems tried this Bush had a hissy fit and threatened them. Bush is an asshole, control freak. Worst president of ALL TIME. Makes Carter look like Washington.
Oh, so peace and prosperity and low unemployment and the world loving us, and the people being happy and successful makes him a bad president. Interesting. Completely ignorant, but interesting. Get a clue, read a book.
Expand, adapt, and improve, or shrivel up and die. That is the choice for the Republican.
Do yourself a favor and relax and look at the situation. I was once a Republican for years. Then I saw the truth. Not that Dems don't have problems of their own. Like their belief that unless we let the mexicans take over america, change our culture and our language we are racist. That we aren't allowed to protect our way of life. Or live the way we want to. Besides that one thing they got it right.
Why do you thnik Bill Clinton is the worst president? And you think that a president that has supported working middle class citizens for 8 years, preventing the U.S. from entering an economic recession as a bad president? Maybe you should wake up and see that our country is involved in a predicament far worse than in the 90s. And to think that he was a bad president because of a stupid sexual scandal that should not have been any of our businesses that the dumb media released.
I looked at your channel antiTyphOn06 and you really need to get a life instead of attacking Democrats and Liberals all the time. And those groups going after Obama are making you believe what they say is true which is actullay not. They smear him, and lie about him that he is connected with a terrorist who plans to destroy America. They are actually referring to a time where there was a terrorist in Obama's neighborhood while he(Obama) was 8 years old. This terrorist happens to be a professor
This guy is a professor in English presently, and is not connected with Obama's campaign at all. Obama could not do anything about a terroist at the age of eight. Obama actually respects our constitution, he even said it in a speech he made. He taught constitutional law (the U.S. constitution) for over ten years at a University from the late 80s to the beginning 2000s. You should listen to each candidates points and research them o make a decision on who you support the most.
Then you will not get the answer you are looking for. He has an energy plan, he has a plan for everything. It's pretty in depth. But you will constantly say he doesn't and look the fool.
I hear he plans to use alternative fuels. aparrently you have not read my profile article about alternative fuels. ethanol is exremely expensive and unefficent.
It's a lot more than that. Not to mention that if we don't research and improve on ethanol it will never get better. We need to work on it. Doing nothing, does, nothing.
Whoa! George Walker Bush, the Constitution is more than just a piece of paper, it is a book that contains our laws and principles for which our country is based upon. It describes the preamble, the three branches of our government, and three more articles, including the Bill of Rights. However, you nailed him good Mglosk.
Democrats on the other hand are trying to move america away from destruction. Destruction of the constitution, destruction of freedom, destruction of what it means to be an American! All things that Republicans have been doing for the last 7 years. Destroying America. There is a reason Republicans are Reds.
Is there ever a time when a republican hasn't lied?
McCain is the biggest flip flopper of all time, and not a single repuppetkin is saying crap about it. They aren't even mentioning the words flip flop, out of fear that people will use it against McLame.
LOL...Well, the most recent lie was just released. John Edwards just admitted he's cheating on his wife & that he lied about it repeatedly through his campaign.
McCain has been in politics for years...unlike Obama. Tides will turn, things will change, position changes will follow suit.
Obama on the other hand did a 180 on drilling....within ONE WEEK.
Number 1 I'm in no way a fan of Edwards. I'll take him over any control freak constitution killing repuppetkin, but I'm not a fan.
Just because Obama hasn't been in politics as long doesn't mean anything, but as I quote:"I was a constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I actually respect the Constitution," -Barack Obama March 07. Also for every democrat cheating on his wife with another woman, there is a republican cheating with another man. heh-heh-heh
Also what about the letters that the bush admin sent to Iraq to make them look like they had weapons of mass destruction? Huh? What about that? Get a clue lady!
No, he didn't. No proof, and the Bush Admin sent a false letter about the wmd. It's already proven it's all a lie. Never has there been wmd. It's been 100% proven. Not even a debate.
More anti-black racist fear mongering repuppetkins. I bet you actually believe that he's a Muslim, or that he is a terrorists. You are an uneducated republican.
You are all afraid of terrorists. Unlike democrats. You believe everything you are told, Democrats question everything. You believe in controlling people and making them behave your way. Republican fear mongering control freak. Read a book for once in your life. Learn about reality, not Rush Limbaugh fantasy, and propaganda.
fuck the hippies fuck the pinkos fuck the democrats fuck the liberals fuck the green party fuck the socialists fuck the terrorists fuck the ACLU fuck barack obama fuck john kerry fuck al gore fuck bill clinton fuck michael moore and fuck you!
You know, you can be a little more positive toward me if I make a grammaitical typo at the end of my message. Would you like it if I laughed and made you feel bad just for a typing mistake that was accidental?
Stupid repuppetkins. Anyone who thinks that it's the democrats fault are just ignorant democrat haters. When we have a ton of unused non-protected land and Bush has the nerve to blame the democratic congress. A congress that is actually doing a great job, and will do a lot better when the rest of the foolish repuppetkins get out of there so that there is a super majority. Bush has lied and lied and lied, and still some believe him. How stupid. No wonder he was able to steal the election.
How old are you...really? Your profile says 39 but due to your ignorance & lack of education, I seem to doubt that. Do yourself a favor..go research how the democrats create massive red tape with leases etc. in order to stop/prolong drilling. Go read up on all of this before embarrassing yourself even further.
By the way, if it's the Republicans who are causing a low approval rating, why then was the approval rating high when Republicans were the majority? Once again..no common sense!!!
Well actually it's very simple,it makes a lot of sense. If you were to'think'instead of just listening to republican propaganda and lies. When the repuppetkins were the majority all the republican puppets gave full approval. Now that the Dems are the majority they all bash them.If you take just the Democrats, the approval rating is much higher.
The republicans are stopping the dems from doing anything which is making everyone look bad.And the Dems are waiting for a supermajority, because of this.
Also, one more point. If what you say is true (and I highly doubt it is) about the congressional approval rating high when you subtract the repubs, why does BUSH have a higher approval rating than Congress?????
Because republicans have much more loyalty to their president, than to congress. Republicans tend to believe that if the president does something it's not against the law. That the president is above the law. (unless it's a democratic president of course). Some democrats were just disapointed that the dems in congress haven't impeached Bush yet, so they were showing their opinion in this way. Not relising that it's the republicans in congress stopping every move the dems try and make.
No kidding Mglosk. When I was talking to another person named Cokie907 about my ideas about political issues, he just insulted me because I sound like a Democrat, and I am not a Democrat, I am a registered unenrolled voter, meaning that I do not belong to a political party. I tend to be more liberal than conservative, but that does not mean he should just blame the problems that the U.S. is dealing with all on Democrats, because they are trying to actually help us.
He stole the election by making it about stupid issues like abortion (what has he done since then?) and marriage.
That got all the dumb-as-fuck fundamentalists couldn't see past his lies. They still think he's a nice guy, even though he's disgraced his office - and Christianity.
But oh well, as Ghandi said "I like your Christ, not your christians".
And what are we going to have when all the oil is gone, people?
You are looking for immediate relief - and you are being extremely selfish.
What we NEED to be doing, is getting OFF of fuel dependency.
What would happen if American people demanded hybrid cars - cars that can double the distance on ONE tank of gas? Well - I bet you Ford/GM/Chrysler would open its gates again to all of the people who have been laid off in the last 8 years - and even more.
Yes, they're blocked because of idiotic liberals. Keep preaching 'love for mother earth'. 400 top scientist/meterologist have all said that global warming is NOT true. Where are your & Al Gore's credentials?
Good guess on my age seeing how it's posted on my YouTube page. How old are you? You see, I have many family members who grew up in the love, peace, mother-earth, hemp, granola eating era. They now realize what a bunch of idiots they were. You too will wake up one day.
Yeah, Teddy Roosevelt, a big fucking tree-hugging liberal. What an idiot he was. Only one of the best fucking presidents in our nation's history. I assume you put W. up there at the top don't you?
Do you have any idea what you're talking about?
And furthermore, where did you get this number 400 top scientists? Give me a link to that information, please.
We fix the REAL problem now, or we let our kids do it. Obviously something you don't care too much about.
did you actually type that with a straight face? He has fucked up america more than any president. We are worse now then "-almost-" any other time in our history. Almost.
No one says Republicans "don't care". They're just being rational about the situation.
By the way, have you ever thought that this is called "global" warming? So, billions of American dollars are spent while many other parts of the world cannot afford nor care about being "green". If it's "global" it wouldn't do any good anyway.
MY issue has nothing to do with Al Gore and Global Warming.
In order to drill for oil, we will need to ruin land that was designated as worthy of saving for specific reasons.
Finally - you oil hungry gramma - oil is a LIMITED resource. What will be left when that oil is gone? Only the need to find a new form of energy. WHY NOT DO IT NOW????
Because it's easier to waste more, that's why. Get off your ass - out of the comfort of your Air Condition, and figure it out.
You obviously do not know how to read...or choose not to.
There are 3.9 million acres available in Alaska. To drill, we would only need a mere2000 acres.
I obviously realize that oil is a limited resource which is why I've stated previously in my posts to drill now WHILE exploring alternative sources. Why are you so worried about running out if you don't want to use it in the first place? You make no sense whatsoever, much like the idiotic democratic congress.
OK, Miss, I have been a little mean about this. We're both passionate. No need to get upset - I apologize.
My problem with your way of thinking, is that I have been hearing "find alternate sources of energy" my whole life. My parents tell me the same thing.
We need something to get us off of our lazy asses and make the change. We will use this oil until it is gone - and then we will be in emergency mode.
Yes, we should find the solution before we have to.Will we?
Yes, I've heard the same thing most of my life too. However, I do believe we're on the path. Perhaps not as quickly as preferred but at least we're headed that direction. More & more Hybrids are sold each day for example. What do you do with the millions of vehicles we have now? It's something that will happen over time. We put a man on the moon nearly 40 years ago & I agree we should be further along w/alternates by now. We need relief in the meantime however
Have you seen anwr? it looks like the moon, As for the Wildlife? Caribou flock to the pipelines, It gives off warmth and increases both mating and calf survival. Sportsman know more about the environment than San Francisco Libs would ever think about knowing.
You need to learn a lot more about this. You are wrong on soooo many levels it's waaaay to much to get into here. Wow. Were you hit on the head when you were young?
We have a ton of unused legal drilling areas that bush will not drill in. This is a slander campaign against the Dems. Total lies by Bush, total bushshit. We have so much land that could be drilled on that isn't protected. Why isn't he drilling in those areas? Because he wants to make money for Osama Bin Laden's family, his good friends. This is nothing but bushshit.
D'UH! I know fool. Think about what I am saying. Why deal with off shore when you can get oil from a million other places. Are you just incapable of reading between the lines or are you just stupid?
No, apparently you're stupid. Offshore drilling is less hazardous than on land. Before calling people stupid, you need to further your education just a bit.
This is also untrue. The millions and millions of fish that would die would fuck things up on a global level. The amount of fish which are dieing right now is on a critical level. To kill even more would be disasterous. In about 20 years they say 50% of the worlds fish population will be dead. We get a majority of our air from the oceans. If the fish die, the plants in the water die, we don't get enough air to survive, we die. You need to go to school.
If republicans say we need to drill how would any public official be against the use it or loose it plan so oil companies would have to drill on land they currently have or they loose it (since the alleged issue is access to more areas to drill, why not agree to use current areas of oil or let them go if nothing is there?). Opposing this is like granting a loan to someone who will not agree to look in the current bank accounts for any possible money. This smells of special interest interference!
jkscherme, not everyone drives SUVs. Everything else goes up because of the rising gas prices, ex. trucking companies have to raise their prices to offset the price of gas, in turn charging more to deliver products to stores, in turn charging us more, like a ripple down effect. Only small amounts of land are used to drill, not ruining our wilderness. A typical excuse, besides, if we were allowed to drill a long time ago when we were trying to become oil-independent, this wouldn't be happening.
Drill everywhere in the US that oil exists. Hang any environmentalists that try to stop the drilling. (okay... that last part was just wishful thinking)
Ruining our wilderness in order to satisfy our selfish need to drive our SUV'S is ludicrous. Bush is interested in making his oil buddies rich and blaming his failures on the Democrats. Who have stopped him from ruining our environment;saving our beaches and wildlife from oil residue and tar from the off shore drilling;and saving Alaska from rusting oil machinery pumping away everywhere...Take a special vacation to Los Angeles, Oklahoma, Texas lately? Lovely views.
Have you been to Oklahoma recently? I'm from Oklahoma and it is a beautiful place. Texas sucks but not because of the oil. Los Angeles sucks because of all the liberal nutjobs. It isn't selfish to drive SUV's. It's selfish to purposely hinder oil companies so I have to pay outrageous prices to drive my SUV (I don't actually have one-I wish). Drilling and SUV's don't hurt the environment.
It doesn't matter if we do drill in Alaska and off shore. The amount of oil we'll get won't be enough to off set the amount need and it won't come soon enough. The high cost of oil is a result of the demand from CHINA and INDIA not the U.S. If the DEMAND GOES DOWN, so will the cost of oil.
This will be extremely useful if it's being handle correctly in a professional matter.
it's sad that we have take on the WildLife and national parks in Alaska, but let's use the oil available over there, until we find a solution for Fuel effective things. like renewable clean resources.
This will keep the oil pricing down and FINALLY GET rid of middle eastern oil
Yahoo speaks on this "drilling" and associates it to lower prices but I could have sworn I heard Bush say in a speech that it would not, and if it did it would take at least 30 years (or something to that affect) for prices to drop. Does anyone know which speech I'm talking about? I saw it on youtube, I recall him saying this thats why I cant figure out why it states this on yahoo (who also took a survey concerning that "pressumption" upon which they based a majority vote eithr for or against it
jes, Yes, you've certainly convinced us all with that erudite defense of an Idiot's dictum. Fortunately, there are a few people in congress with enough sense to put a stop to the charade and stop this clown from further destroying our country. If you don't like it, leave.
He actually sounds half-way intelligent in this recording. I mean, not that I necessarily agree with what he is saying, but the way he is saying it isn't horrible. Huh.
3/4 of the country says "drill here, drill now." The Dems are continuing to drop the ball. They haven't done what they were elected to do in "06. Start drilling and start building nuclear power plants. Energy independence is the key to many of our problems.
Do you know who froze funding for alternative energy research for 2 yrs?
Do you know that within a few years, our legislators passed a law which BANS the use of an regular lightbulb, forcing us to use the pigtail bulbs, filled with mercury. To dispose of them, we will be required to take them to a recycling center or double wrap them in plastic (as if there's not enough in our oceans) to dispose at home.
You greedy bastards don't want the public to know the truth! If I didn't know better, I might SPECULATE "special interests" are trying to piss us off into a revolution.
"In 1975, about 80 percent of foreign exchange transactions were to conduct business in the real economy. The remaining 20% of transactions in 1975 were SPECULATIVE
from buying and selling currencies themselves, based on their changing values)
Today the REAL economy...transactions is down to 2.5%! "97.5% IS NOW SPECULATIVE."
Warning, the woman has her tin foil cap on and she's bringing it to you "personally" (please see Karla Bonoff)!
Now then, let's SPECULATE here. Let us imagine, there is a "special interest group" putting the squeeze on us, trying to piss us off. Btw, the "us" includes other countries as demonstrated in this vid w/Reuterscoverage:
~OIl shortage-OPEC boss slams speculators~
watch?v=iKUBlMKxnfU
What, who will ultimately benefit from stressing "the little man," huh? Please, someone, do tell!!
Let me put a restriction on the who. Member "opchidexio," you're not allowed to address ikekll since you blatantly lied about her.
Now, having said that opchi,
the NSA has ears ALL OVER THIS PLANET, you lying son of a bitch. So don't tell me our intelligence can't "hear" radicals, behind computers, attacking America! AND, don't tell me that Amy Goodman is a tool of George Soros.
Member "opchidexio," I wanted to believe in someone-I almost bought into your mis-guided accusations.
Based on the logic you employ in this vid, it's Saudi Arabia that needs policing, not Iran! Iranians have little to NO access to cable? They don't know how much you hate them.
Btw, I know hate...not towards others..only for myself-both are despicable).
opchi="cymbaline90210"
Who is really behind the anti-American and NWO protesters
Opchi, you fail to see our own so-called govt passing legislation LEFT and RIGHT which I consider anti-American.
You dern well know the "hearing" capabilities of our NSA. I consider it to be criminal - the abuse of using this technology to gather wall street trading. Legally, this makes them inside traders(it's well documented so don't bother denying).
How can U claim THAT radical Arabs are sitting at computers attacking the US.
If they are, then it's OUR own intel that's allowing it to happen
We've been dealing with periods of religious zealots for eons-Christians and Muslims alike!
Remember Rudolph killing pro-abortion doctors?
So, iF we're attacked by radicals, ONCE again, it's the failure due either neglect or the attack is used to promote further division between Abrahamic traditions.
The Clinton admin. didn't but nukes offered by the Soviets. We imagine someone bought them!
So, FOR THE NEOCONS, this CLEAR message-
We're waking up to your tactics & we're not buying any more BS!
What needs to be done FIRST is to curb oil speculation. As reported by foxbusinesscom, 'Numerous experts from around the world peg the impact of oil speculation at $20 to $60 per barrel. That translates into between $0.48 and $1.43 at the gas pump.'
bigkyle07...WHAT DON'T YOU GET? If there's 68 million acres of untapped federal land that are already leased, why the F should we drill in Alaska?? Maybe the neurons aren't firing correctly in your brain?
Maybe it's because there isn't much oil in all those millions of acres you parrot from the Democratic talking points. It's not worth the investment in those locations.
There are 68 million acres of federal land and waters where oil & gas co.s already own leases but are not producing oil...and Bush wants to drill in Alaska? WTF!?! Is it January yet?
With the record that W has to date (including Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld &..), I think it wise to disregard anything Bush says about anything. Of course, I felt this way in 2000 also!
Go look at your dems and ask them why we have all these tankers bobbing up and down in the ocean that can't unload because we don't have enough refineries. Why don't we have refineries in over 30 years but more people and cars? Then ask the people in Alaska, even the dems there want us to drill! They profit and right now they need that money. But guess what, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in right now if it wasn't for the democrats saying no to drilling. You're all inbred.
You libreals who bash Bush for the cost of gas need to look at your own party. The Democrats have stopped us from becoming less reliant on foreign oil. First they vote to not drill in Alaska, then they vote to keep the ban on off shore drilling.
I dont get it? If we could get our untapped oil supplys, and stop being reliant on oil from Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the Middle East, we would all be in better shape.
Go ahead Dems, give me a thumbs down, I will wear it with pride!
most ppl in columbia and venezuela are poor and iran is a authoritiarian state. but here is a very conservative response instead "love it so much, why don't you move there"
I love America and for one I didnt say I hate the high prices of gas. Now less our driving and less CO2 emissions are being emitted, so I guess the tree huggers got what they wanted!
Bush sound like he is reading someone elses words. He has no idea what he is talking about. What a puppet. We need a real leader, with a brain, please!
Close the Enron Loophole & oil prices would drop dramatically. Deregulation of the industry has given speculators the ability to artificially inflate prices. Stop that abuse of the American people, and then maybe we can have a discussion of where to drill. I might suggest we start drilling in the areas already designated for that, areas which the oil companies are sitting on like savings in the bank.
The more your drill, the more CHINA and INDIA will buy. Did you know, Mr. President, that the United States only get about 10% of Alaskan oil?? 90% goes to Japan. But, go ahead and drill away. Destroy the environment. Once it is destroyed, there will no longer be anything left to fight for! And, of course, I'm sure the additional drilling will help YOUR family business. Thank you for listening. HA! What a joke. Talking to a brick wall.
Bush is the worst president we've ever had. Stop supporting the machine that has gotten us in this mess. We need a president with a brain. I really feel Bush does not even understand what he is reading on this video.
It takes at least 10 years to produce oil offshore and experts agree, that it wouldn't even lower gas prices, because the price for oil is global. The only way to reduce the impact of oil on the economy and on price levels is to reduce demand. That requires putting pressure on industries that guzzle oil and giving incentives to those that don't. In the short term bringing a diplomatic solution to the Iran situation would calm investor worries about a war and help bring prices down at least some.
It takes at least 10 years to produce oil offshore and experts agree, that it wouldn't even lower gas prices, because the price for oil is global. The global oil supply is determined by the big OPEC nations not the US. The only way to lower oil prices is to reduce demand drastically. Bush's pro oil stance is completely misleading and the offshore drilling nonsense is nothing but a gimmick. We need to create much stronger incentives to reduce demand and get away from oil.
And bringing this mess in the Middle East to a diplomatic solution would help a lot too. Wait till they invade Iran and you'll see oil prices go through the roof (again) (AMONG other things). We absolutely need to reverse course before the economy, national security, and the environment go to shits for good. No more Bush, no McSame. We just cannot afford it.
all you liberal's can put your family in a little battery powered golf cart and travel across country if you want but I want a dependable 8 cylander gas burner to transport my family. I hope your battery doesn't go dead da hood.

this statement seems bizarre in a time when our economy is supposed to be struggling.
a possible explanation for why there is so much money available for oil job salaries is that this economic flow is balanced by an economic expenditure of equally vast proportions.

Okay, Yesterday a florida talk show host said that 100 billiion tuns a day is EXPORTED from the USA! "One big worldwide oil pool" he said.

We don't need off shore exploration, we need to open up the reserves.
That same talk show host I mentioned is in Florida where they plan to drill.
He let us know that they will NOT use the oil that they know is in ALASKA, but will drill off the beaches of Florida.
This is no need to drill off shore. We have oil enough already. They are even exporting it~

And those groups going after Obama are making you believe what they say is true which is actullay not. They are actually referring to a time where there was a terrorist in Obama's neighborhood while he(Obama) was 8 years old. This terrorist happens to be a professor
doughnutser256 3 years ago 2
This guy is a professor in English presently, and is not connected with Obama's campaign at all. Obama could not do anything about a terroist at the age of eight. Obama actually respects our constitution, he even said it in a speech he made. He taught constitutional law (the U.S. constitution) for over ten years at a University from the late 80s to the beginning 2000s. You should listen to each candidates points and research them o make a decision on who you support the most.

Democrats on the other hand are trying to move america away from destruction. Destruction of the constitution, destruction of freedom, destruction of what it means to be an American! All things that Republicans have been doing for the last 7 years. Destroying America. There is a reason Republicans are Reds.
Mglosk 3 years ago 2
Is there ever a time when a republican hasn't lied?
McCain is the biggest flip flopper of all time, and not a single repuppetkin is saying crap about it. They aren't even mentioning the words flip flop, out of fear that people will use it against McLame.
Mglosk 3 years ago 2
LOL...Well, the most recent lie was just released. John Edwards just admitted he's cheating on his wife & that he lied about it repeatedly through his campaign.
McCain has been in politics for years...unlike Obama. Tides will turn, things will change, position changes will follow suit.
Obama on the other hand did a 180 on drilling....within ONE WEEK.

Mglosk 3 years ago 2
How old are you...really? Your profile says 39 but due to your ignorance & lack of education, I seem to doubt that. Do yourself a favor..go research how the democrats create massive red tape with leases etc. in order to stop/prolong drilling. Go read up on all of this before embarrassing yourself even further.
By the way, if it's the Republicans who are causing a low approval rating, why then was the approval rating high when Republicans were the majority? Once again..no common sense!!!
ytdsmom 3 years ago
Well actually it's very simple,it makes a lot of sense. If you were to'think'instead of just listening to republican propaganda and lies. When the repuppetkins were the majority all the republican puppets gave full approval. Now that the Dems are the majority they all bash them.If you take just the Democrats, the approval rating is much higher.
The republicans are stopping the dems from doing anything which is making everyone look bad.And the Dems are waiting for a supermajority, because of this.
Mglosk 3 years ago
mglosk: Where is a report on Congressional approval, less the Republicans? When the Repubs were the majority, their approval rating was much higher.
ytdsmom 3 years ago
Also, one more point. If what you say is true (and I highly doubt it is) about the congressional approval rating high when you subtract the repubs, why does BUSH have a higher approval rating than Congress?????
Doesn't make much sense now does it?
ytdsmom 3 years ago
Because republicans have much more loyalty to their president, than to congress. Republicans tend to believe that if the president does something it's not against the law. That the president is above the law. (unless it's a democratic president of course). Some democrats were just disapointed that the dems in congress haven't impeached Bush yet, so they were showing their opinion in this way. Not relising that it's the republicans in congress stopping every move the dems try and make.
Mglosk 3 years ago 2
No kidding Mglosk. When I was talking to another person named Cokie907 about my ideas about political issues, he just insulted me because I sound like a Democrat, and I am not a Democrat, I am a registered unenrolled voter, meaning that I do not belong to a political party. I tend to be more liberal than conservative, but that does not mean he should just blame the problems that the U.S. is dealing with all on Democrats, because they are trying to actually help us.
doughnutser256 3 years ago
Yeah man right on.

I do care about the state of this world. You should too.
waltts 3 years ago
No one says Republicans "don't care". They're just being rational about the situation.
By the way, have you ever thought that this is called "global" warming? So, billions of American dollars are spent while many other parts of the world cannot afford nor care about being "green". If it's "global" it wouldn't do any good anyway.
ytdsmom 3 years ago
Actually this is completely bullshit. Most of the world is doing their part. Besides china. So get your facts straight lady.
Mglosk 3 years ago
Finally:
MY issue has nothing to do with Al Gore and Global Warming.
In order to drill for oil, we will need to ruin land that was designated as worthy of saving for specific reasons.
Finally - you oil hungry gramma - oil is a LIMITED resource. What will be left when that oil is gone? Only the need to find a new form of energy. WHY NOT DO IT NOW????
Because it's easier to waste more, that's why. Get off your ass - out of the comfort of your Air Condition, and figure it out.
waltts 3 years ago
You obviously do not know how to read...or choose not to.
There are 3.9 million acres available in Alaska. To drill, we would only need a mere2000 acres.
I obviously realize that oil is a limited resource which is why I've stated previously in my posts to drill now WHILE exploring alternative sources. Why are you so worried about running out if you don't want to use it in the first place? You make no sense whatsoever, much like the idiotic democratic congress.
ytdsmom 3 years ago
Better get used to it.
Yes, we should find the solution before we have to.Will we?
waltts 3 years ago
I appreciate your apology.
We need relief in the meantime however
ytdsmom 3 years ago
Have you seen anwr? it looks like the moon, As for the Wildlife? Caribou flock to the pipelines, It gives off warmth and increases both mating and calf survival. Sportsman know more about the environment than San Francisco Libs would ever think about knowing.

Mglosk 3 years ago
Bush is talking about "offshore drilling" you big idiot.
ytdsmom 3 years ago
D'UH! I know fool. Think about what I am saying. Why deal with off shore when you can get oil from a million other places. Are you just incapable of reading between the lines or are you just stupid?
Mglosk 3 years ago
No, apparently you're stupid. Offshore drilling is less hazardous than on land. Before calling people stupid, you need to further your education just a bit.
ytdsmom 3 years ago

Only4luv 3 years ago
jkscherme, not everyone drives SUVs. Everything else goes up because of the rising gas prices, ex. trucking companies have to raise their prices to offset the price of gas, in turn charging more to deliver products to stores, in turn charging us more, like a ripple down effect. Only small amounts of land are used to drill, not ruining our wilderness. A typical excuse, besides, if we were allowed to drill a long time ago when we were trying to become oil-independent, this wouldn't be happening.
jlcochran 3 years ago
Drill now.
Drill everywhere in the US that oil exists. Hang any environmentalists that try to stop the drilling. (okay... that last part was just wishful thinking)
nikolai082700 3 years ago
Ruining our wilderness in order to satisfy our selfish need to drive our SUV'S is ludicrous. Bush is interested in making his oil buddies rich and blaming his failures on the Democrats. Who have stopped him from ruining our environment;saving our beaches and wildlife from oil residue and tar from the off shore drilling;and saving Alaska from rusting oil machinery pumping away everywhere...Take a special vacation to Los Angeles, Oklahoma, Texas lately? Lovely views.
jkscherme 3 years ago
Have you been to Oklahoma recently? I'm from Oklahoma and it is a beautiful place. Texas sucks but not because of the oil. Los Angeles sucks because of all the liberal nutjobs. It isn't selfish to drive SUV's. It's selfish to purposely hinder oil companies so I have to pay outrageous prices to drive my SUV (I don't actually have one-I wish). Drilling and SUV's don't hurt the environment.
ptricky15 3 years ago
It doesn't matter if we do drill in Alaska and off shore. The amount of oil we'll get won't be enough to off set the amount need and it won't come soon enough. The high cost of oil is a result of the demand from CHINA and INDIA not the U.S. If the DEMAND GOES DOWN, so will the cost of oil.
jkscherme 3 years ago
actually the US uses much more oil than China or India.
From your use of caps are you suggesting we eliminate China and India?
Chadhead 3 years ago
This will be extremely useful if it's being handle correctly in a professional matter.
it's sad that we have take on the WildLife and national parks in Alaska, but let's use the oil available over there, until we find a solution for Fuel effective things. like renewable clean resources.
This will keep the oil pricing down and FINALLY GET rid of middle eastern oil
b07rivera 3 years ago
Yahoo speaks on this "drilling" and associates it to lower prices but I could have sworn I heard Bush say in a speech that it would not, and if it did it would take at least 30 years (or something to that affect) for prices to drop. Does anyone know which speech I'm talking about? I saw it on youtube, I recall him saying this thats why I cant figure out why it states this on yahoo (who also took a survey concerning that "pressumption" upon which they based a majority vote eithr for or against it

LKinOhio 3 years ago
Maybe it's because there isn't much oil in all those millions of acres you parrot from the Democratic talking points. It's not worth the investment in those locations.

How about the PAIN Bush has caused this country for 8 years? Let's keep pumping billions into Iraq fighting "terrorism"...WAFJ!
LKinOhio 3 years ago
There are 68 million acres of federal land and waters where oil & gas co.s already own leases but are not producing oil...and Bush wants to drill in Alaska? WTF!?! Is it January yet?
LKinOhio 3 years ago
When was the last time you were in Alaska?
davemann69 3 years ago

You're all inbred.
hitechwizkid 3 years ago
You libreals who bash Bush for the cost of gas need to look at your own party. The Democrats have stopped us from becoming less reliant on foreign oil. First they vote to not drill in Alaska, then they vote to keep the ban on off shore drilling.
I dont get it? If we could get our untapped oil supplys, and stop being reliant on oil from Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the Middle East, we would all be in better shape.
Go ahead Dems, give me a thumbs down, I will wear it with pride!

the gas will not be sold in the US. In an open market it will be sold to the highest bidder
1samothrace77 3 years ago
So we cant drill, refine, and sale our own oil to our country???
I am pretty sure we can, since Oil rich countries like Columbia, Venuzaila (sp) and Iran do. Also their gas is like 20 cents a gallon.
bigkyle07 3 years ago
most ppl in columbia and venezuela are poor and iran is a authoritiarian state. but here is a very conservative response instead "love it so much, why don't you move there"

I love America and for one I didnt say I hate the high prices of gas. Now less our driving and less CO2 emissions are being emitted, so I guess the tree huggers got what they wanted!

Price per barrel has NOTHING TO DO WITH supply and demand.

Drilling now will not lower prices now. Do you know that it will take at least 5 years before that oil is extracted.

Close the Enron Loophole & oil prices would drop dramatically. Deregulation of the industry has given speculators the ability to artificially inflate prices. Stop that abuse of the American people, and then maybe we can have a discussion of where to drill. I might suggest we start drilling in the areas already designated for that, areas which the oil companies are sitting on like savings in the bank.
dafttool 3 years ago
The more your drill, the more CHINA and INDIA will buy. Did you know, Mr. President, that the United States only get about 10% of Alaskan oil?? 90% goes to Japan. But, go ahead and drill away. Destroy the environment. Once it is destroyed, there will no longer be anything left to fight for! And, of course, I'm sure the additional drilling will help YOUR family business. Thank you for listening. HA! What a joke. Talking to a brick wall.

On 2004 the government energy agency report said drilling off the Alaskan coast would decrease the cost of gasoline 3.5 cents in 2027.

"Saudi Arabia's oil minister called the price spikes unjustified and attributed them to SPECULATION"
******
"In 1975, about 80 percent of foreign exchange transactions were to conduct business in the real economy.
The remaining 20% of transactions in 1975 were SPECULATIVE
(speculation loosely defined = expected profit from buying and selling currencies themselves, based on their changing values)
Today the REAL economy...transactions is down to 2.5%! "97.5% IS NOW SPECULATIVE."
SPECULATORS!!!!

We need to create much stronger incentives to reduce demand and get away from oil.
vertigate 3 years ago 3
And bringing this mess in the Middle East to a diplomatic solution would help a lot too. Wait till they invade Iran and you'll see oil prices go through the roof (again) (AMONG other things). We absolutely need to reverse course before the economy, national security, and the environment go to shits for good. No more Bush, no McSame. We just cannot afford it.
