You, sir are in for a rude awakening. The lower 50 percent of the population pay almost NO tax at the federal level, unless of course you are talking about the social security/medicare taxes. Many actually get money from the earned income credit.

The heavy tax burden is born by the 50 to 90 income percentile, because they make good money, but not enough to figure out how to hide it from the feds. They are often transitioning into the tax bracket, and haven't learned the tricks yet.
