  • Don't tell them what you need because they'd rather burn in hell than give you what you need. We simply need to just DISPOSE of them... PEOPLE, THEY ARE CORRUPT AND WORKING TO DESTROY AMERICA... WE NEED TO GET RID OF THEM... IT'S NOT OUR RIGHT, IT'S OUR RESPONSIBILITY...

  • god bless this man!

  • People need to stop going to Wal Mart.

    Support local businesses....

    Wake up!!!!!!

  • Yes! Protest evil capitalism! You can't do it on an empty stomach, so make sure you buy some McDonald's first. You are going to need a good outfit incase some news cameras catch some footage of you, so make sure to buy a nice Abercrombe outfit. You are going to need some pictures, so buy yourself a nice Cannon digital camera. You are going to need money for all these things, so ask your successful capitalist parents to lend you some.

Is America's youth really this foolish?

  • are you kidding me? You really think

the status quo is working. We

have double digit inflation, we are doing

a terrible job of educating our children,

the divide between the rich and the poort

    is widening.

    Wake up..

  • Underground resistance fighters in Nazi occupied Europe need to fight evil Nazism! You can't do it with your bare hands so make sure to grab some Nazi German made pistols, you can't get much range out of a Luger so make sure to get some Nazi German made rifles, you can''t get much firepower from a Mauser Kar98 so make sure to grab an MP40 from a dead kraut.

Are these underground resisters really that foolish?

  • i agree

  • Weren't you in that "Get Shorty" movie with Danny DeVito or some shit? AHH, no that was Harry ZIMM, played by Gene Hackman!

  • And only retards heeded the call.

  • me too! rich people stink , they make too much money, we should lower our standards, our standard of living and everyone should be equal. that would be great wouldn't it?

  • laughlin- isn't that whats happening now. Aren't American standards of living being lowered. With so many jobs and investment $ going overseas for more profit, doesn't that put American workers in a bidding war for lower pay? Les environ regs? Why do you support welfare for the investor class? Our system has produced a result where the top 1% holds more wealth than the bottom 95%. Our country is young soon that stat will be even more lopsided.

  • Waaaaaaaa!!! I hate Capitalism WAAAAAAAA!!!! I hate how people who create and innovate are rewarded. I hate how everything isnt fair. Why cant everything be equal? Why do our elected officials decide stuff?? Why cant we just increase costs to businesses, and also expect our goods ot be sold at walmart prices?? Why cant we force companies to pay me 50 dollars and just hope they stay in business. Just tax the rich guys, they didnt earn their money like i did.

  • Waah! Helping poor people is SCARY!

  • Your right poor people are not helped in this country at all. Perhaps you should go out there and earn, or create something. Then you will realize that it wasnt that hard with a little effort. People may be born poor but peoples choices keep them poor in this country. EVERY person in this country can educate themselves and be a success. I have a homework assignment for you since you probably only read Howard Zinn books. Open up Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand.

  • I have opened up Atlas Shrugged and I used it as toilet paper... Ayn Rand was a self centered pos and her attempts at philosophy are LAUGHABLE!

  • I think your right to a certain extent but most success stories can be attributed to the resources, opportunities, and connections around them. If you are raised in an urban ghetto where your hierarchy of needs is survival first, and the educational system is so bad, you can forget about a professional career. The only other economic opportunities are in businesses limited to liquor stores, bonds, and fast food. Its hard to leave when you rely on a inclusive public transit system.

  • you have no idea what is going on man. stuff like computers and the inernet was handed over to bill gates by the pentagon.

  • Maybe you assholes would not hate capitalism so much if you would participate in it.

    Get a job!

  • hey there BigDaddy5503

so all those people who suffered from AMERICAN CORPORATE CORRUPTION that caused the SECOND global economic collapse in UNDER A SINGLE CENTURY

who lost jobs, saw their homes & health coverage destroyed

they're just 'hippies' or 'criminals' who don't participate in the 'real & true Corporate Economy' right?

man, are you lost up your own ass or just watching too much corporate-sponsored media??

  • An interesting thought, jeepndesert. But still, people's feelings against G20 bankers can't justify destruction of physical property. If the post office loses a package of mine and I decide to throw a rock through their window, I don't suddenly get my package back. And I shouldn't, mainly because....I threw a rock through their window and I'm an adult.

The comment right below this by poo0115104 is right. Small Pittsburgh businesses are getting hurt. I mean, no one should be, especially

  • don't forget, that the CORPORATIONS & COPS also put *agents provocateurs* into these protests so they can roll out the military gear & justify *putting a beating* on folks on their corporate media coverage

ever notice there is MORE MONEY for military gear & surveillance... but never any funding for non-violent crowd management or conflict de-escalation?

I suggest you watch the documentary, "This Is What Democracy Looks Like"

the cops support the CORPS who help GET THEM THE GEAR, not neighbours

  • google bilderberg people. baxter was caught shipping live h5n1 in their vaccines a month before the h1n1 swine flu scare.

  • ummm...believe me, howard, it's not the working people who are tonight trashing this city and throwing bricks into mom & pop businesses. maybe you should be clearer in your message about HOW people can come together to make a difference. anarchists are spoiled brats who don't know a thing about hard work.

  • I think the problem is that they are attacking the wrong pple.......Mom and pop businesses. They're saying that they are protesting what G20's members stand for and they are trying to change it, well the message gets distorted when you through bricks through pples windows and bust the windows of cop cars. 60's Civil rights protesters never promoted such nonsense because they new that there message would be lost, because media would talk about the vandalism and not the cause!

  • WorldsCuteCat:

Might I suggest that you're only SEEING WHAT THE MEDIA SHOWS YOU? let's remember WHO PAYS FOR THAT MEDIA.

the same corporate cronies WHO BOUGHT & PAID FOR THE DUDES IN THOSE MEETINGS.

gee, go figure! "we'll rob you BLIND, then tell our cronies to buy WEAPONRY, then when you COMPLAIN about CORRPUPTION, tell the local authorities TO ROLL OUT THE GOONS TO BEAT IN THE HEADS OF THE DEMONSTRATORS... & then we tell our corporate media TO TELL EVERYONE 'we love you!'"

    don't be naive!

  • come to the summit and protest says Zinn from his $1000 armchair at Boston University

  • cylsan

Zinn HELPED CREATE THE CIVIL RIGHTS & BLACK RIGHTS MOVEMENT.

    He's over 65 years old.

when is the last time you saw a CORPORATE CRONEY COP notice if that peaceful demonstrator WAS A GERIATRIC before gassing or beating on him?

show some respect for your *internationally recognized* & highly regarded elders!

the man is a VETERAN OF WWII!

  • actually, he was sitting in an old armchair (favorite) in his very old house. Howard was not wealthy and what little money he had he donated to grass roots progressive causes.

  • @PHubb Thanks for defending zinn. He is truly a great historian. When I read his "A People's history of the United States" I respected him ever since. He was a great man. May he R.I.P.

  • I've got no problem with protestors, but why are some of them making peace signs right after they've thrown bricks into windows; damaging innocent businesses of Pittsburgh. I know that it's always a few rotten apples that spoil the bunch, but if they really want their message to be heard, they need to do it with civility. Anymore these days, it looks like there needs to be people protesting the protestors, hehe

  • agent provocateur. maybe you should look it up. tyranny is a bit more high tech. g20 bankers just stole 23.7 trillion from the american people as reported by bloomberg. the television news doesn't tell the retards about what is really happening. that is just the tip of the iceberg.

  • This is pure enjoyment for me.

  • It is all about the bottom line and NET WORTH !!!! Something Allegheny County will never see due to the welfare class who suck the system dry. Typical Obama worshippers who feed off of KDKA

  • Howard Zinn is awesome!!

  • How can anyone be jealous of the welfare infested city of Pittsburgh. Actually, we are happy that you have a sports empire--

  • the only welfare queen on this site is you. get a job you stupid ass

  • shut the fuck up pitt is the best and you guys are just mad we won the stanley cup and the superbowl am i right or am i wrong oh yeah right bitches!!!!

  • Pittsburgh is a total waste. Politics suck and the city is in receivership. Summit is payback to Pittsburgh because it delivered for Obama.

  • Piitsburgh is the Ass of America. Who would waste their time protesting in this pathetic blue collar town

  • where you from that it is so great

  • that must make the biggest ASSHOLE in AMERICA fpr making a stupid statement like that

  • wow you are a blind fool my friend

  • The protest was nothing they looked like a bunch of idiots that can't organize anything. The Pittsburgh Steelers had 500,000 people at thier ralley!!! u can't mess with the city of champions

  • The protester aren't "messing" with Pittsburgh, they're standing up for the economic and civil rights for the people living in Pittsburgh and beyond.

  • yes they are messing with the burgh. Did you see those idiots getting into the face of the police officer's. They are cowards who have to hide their faces with a bandannas. It had nothing to do with econmical or civil rights. They were empting trashcans in the middle of the city. They need to get a job.... They should leave the city, they were not invited....

  • Indeed, the politicians do need to leave and get jobs

  • Except for that whole corruption and fraud thing, corporations are great. Or maybe you think the financial crisis was an accident.

  • Right On!

  • Not a secret Critical. Everyone here in Pittsburgh knows it's at Nemacolin Country Club. Pittsburgh's just a generalization. By the way, if you're going to protest, be ready for some pissed of police. My step-father is a police sergeant at Pitt, they've already told him there are "professional protesters" coming to the G20 who are armed and dangerous.

  • so no one will be at the david l lawrence center? will there be protests at the country club as well. i dont understand

  • has anyone seen any videos at all from any of the protests in the last 10 years where protesters were armed at all?? most ive seen is some rock and sign throwing at riot "coppers" who are useing an extreme amount of force. i would like to note also that ive seen first hand many times over some big wig on a bull horn say something like if there is an assault by protester force will be used and then imediatly after they say that the police start useing force completly contradicting what was said

  • I would further like to add that the supposed "rioting does occur but always seems to be well after the police start brutalizing the unarmed demonstrators. A good example of indiscriminant police induced violence is the Carl Kesser incident. Dude was there shooting a film to Promote the police and their strong will and restraint and to promote the FTAA, what the protesters were against. He was shot in the face with a beanbag that imbedded in his head and left the side of his face paralyzed.

  • if it wasn't for pittsburgh there would not be a steel industry, coal mining industry or unions. leave our city alone.also oil.

  • Tell that to Obama and the G20 - they chose Pittsburgh for the summit where they will decide how to divide up the world to make rich CEOs richer and to our detriment. We still don't have universal medicare for all healthcare - the wars are still going on - nothing's changed. People need to get into the streets and protest!

  • Most all the mills have been demolished.

They have been replaced by strip malls.

    from Pittsburgh

Sad thing is most of our steel is now imported from china.

  • It's not just Republicans getting Insurance money, it's both parties. Neither is better than the other. They both want power.

  • Anyone planning on coming to Pittsburgh for the G20 protest rally?

    DON'T !!!!!!!

The real event is taking place high in the mountains of Pennsylvania

at the secluded exclusive hideaway of Nemacolin Woodlands Resort near

Ohiopyle, 60.37 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, roughly a 1-1/2 hour

drive by car, or a few short minutes by plane to land at the private

    airfield behind the main lodge.

  • Antiglobalists & Anrachist Unite and Smash G20 it Pittsburgh, US 24-25th September !

    more info => resistg20,org ★★★★★★★

    Get Ready t RIOT !)

  • yes, go "smash" the G20 and go out and "riot". Then piss and moan when the police come out to protect people from your violence.

  • I understand Mr.Zinn as the evil corporations have robbed so many and the republicans are recieving cash donations by health insurance companies and I am getting sick of it!

I am from Pittsburgh and I will be peaceful. I respect my city...

  • I surely hope you're being sarcastic. Who is better off because of corporations and big business other than the presidents and CEOs of those corporations? Is the average citizen better off? Definitely not.

  • 'This is what WORKING people need, this is what home owners need, this is what consumers need' Zinn's addressing the working class here - who happen to be the vast majority of people on the planet. He's saying we need to stand up for our interests against the oligarchs and ruling classes represented by the G20. It's time to fight for universal healthcare - medicare for all - jobs, and an end to foreclosures and the wars.

TAX the RICH and Corporations! End the tax

    burden on working families

  • I think he's saying that if we deliver our demands in a language the corporations understand, we will have a better chance at success. And they understand boycots and other "consumer" activism. Using the consumer identity to our advantage would be like saying to the corporations: "We will not stand for this, and remember, we are your customers."

  • I'm here because I think Zinn opened up an avenue for you "progressives" to figure something out (sorry if I sound condescending, but you're all out to lunch here, from Chomsky on down) I certainly like your reasoning better than Mr. Cow's here, but...you don't have to deliver ANY demand to a corporation other than your demand for a product. ALL nefarious power that a corporation may wield comes through your beloved state apparatus. Always has, always will. You can't ever grab the reins for long

  • Stop using the word "consumer" we are citizens. The word consumer is used by corporations to de-legitimize us into being cattle. WE ARE CITIZENS. Let's not forget it and it should be considered an insult to be called a consumer.

  • Right on the money! I do not think Howard Zinn refers to people as consumers however. But an excellent point.

  • I agree. It is an example of the pernicious aspect of propaganda that a person as thoughtful as Zinn is slips into the trap.

  • He was talking about different aspects of our existence. We're all consumers. What he said made perfect sense, our needs as consumers must be met or we die.

  • Mooooo

  • Yeah. I'm not quite sure what that means, I'm a cow? You're a cow? Always love the level of discussion here on YouTube. I'm always reminded why I've stopped trying to get it going, but after awhile, I'll try again for some reason.

You're not a consumer? Are you some sort of spirit creature or are you just shaky on the English language? Webster's in the sense that Zinn probably meant:

    "one that utilizes economic goods"

  • You come up with your own dubious definition of a word and those who insist on sticking to English then fall into your definition? Cows are the "consumed". Cows aren't capable of utilizing anything. They are fed & utilized themselves. It is your definition of "citizen" which I'd be willing to wager is the more insulting, cow-like description. Tell me, do you believe you have a "right" to "health care"? Would you or have you voted for someone who promised to give it to you?

  • agitcam i could hug your neck wish i could give your comment 20000 thumbs up
