This song will always hold a special place in my heart. My Babcia` died a day after a Christmas 2011, this song was played at her funeral. I miss here very much. Babcia came to Australia to start a new life after World War 2, she was the glue of our family and a special person just like this song.
As a young college student at St. Mary's College in Orchard Lake, Michigan I was honored to perform with the Folk chorale and dance troupe Janosik, sponsored by the schools. We were featured on Detroit area radio and tv back in the 1970's. Thank you for sharing the Mazsowsze's wonderful rendering of this traditional koleda! Dziekujie bardzo!
I am of Polish ancestry. My grandparents came to the USA from Gdansk and another small adjacent village. Polish Kolendy figure profoundly in my life. While a college student at the Orchard Lake Schools in the 1970's I was honored to be part of the chorale/folk dance troupe named Janosik. We performed on radio in the Detroit area. In Buffalo, NY during my youth of the 60's, I grew up in a prodomenantly Polish Neighborhood - St Casimirs Parish. I will forever remember those Midnight Masses and this song. I have carried with me throughout my life and now I give it to My children. It is more than a Carol, It embodies myspirit this time of year and the flood of wonderful youthful memories
