My cousin just bought a "base" 2007 G5, and I must say what a freaking nice little car. 10,000 was the list price but he paid 12,900 with the extended warranty, and shipment to Cali from Georgia. The thing drives nice, is supposed to get super gas mileage (we got 39 mpg with a Cobalt we rented once) and looks great. Best of all is an extremely comfortable car. Id recomend one to anyone now.
@GoodVXSEvil lmfao then you obviously dont know a good car. Owned mine for 24 hours and already had people asking where they can get one. And, good luck saving money with a slow-accel manual V8.
Even if one of these could crack the 4 second mark remeber what it is...lol even if the windows were limo tinted out I'd still be embrassed to drive one. I'll take that V8 POSI Everytime.
im sorry but all these people talking about there turboed 3.8 and souped up 4 bangers just need to understand - in the end, THERE'S NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!!! >:)
@blockygraphics. Yeah the light mustangs have more acceleration than the larger engine chevy's. The mustangs are quick effecient machines. But the Camaro that my Dad beat with his Celebrity Euro was a V8. A V6 2.8 H.O beating a 350 Camaro is interesting. The Camaro owner was not amused.
You kept up with a 80's camaro in a V6 Dodge Spirit. Was the Camaro in good shape as in not hot rodded to death with a burned out torque converter [if it was a automatic] did it have good compression etc? No those Camaros weren't known to be fast but a 1984 Celebrity Eurosport beating something that was SUPPOSED to outperform it was decently interesting. A Dodge Spirit is STILL alot newer than a 1984 it's V6/computer technology more advanced than the Celebrity's.
Check out MY new Pontiac G5! Brand new 09 for only $8,100 under the CFC program with huge incentives too. I believe my video is called Pontiac G5 cash for clunkers result.
I FINALLY got my new G5. I detailed it. Clay bar the whole nine yards. Mothers Glaze, Productions Teflon wax, Turtle wax Ice interior protectant, Rain X, etc. I'll have to upload a video of it. It's black. It was cool as hell to have On Star give me directions turn by turn. To have a telephone number to my car. the USB so no need for CD's ETC!!! It's shining like a monkey's ass!!
You should try Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer. I use it on my car to keep it shiny and glossy. Its awesome stuff. I use it on my Grand Prix all the time.
at least the gov released 2more billion dollars for cash for clunkers program. hell you can buy one of these car cost around 5K. i wounder if Gm should've done this a long time ago.
Scratch that!! I just recieved MORE discounts on my new G5. I will get it around mon or tues it's sat 7-25-2009 right now. It's no longer $10,183.11. It's now $7,689!!!! It was discounted more for being an earlier 09. With the money I saved I can get the GM performace parts for it!! The exhaust, manifold, and cold air intake kit. Warranty intact. The G5's are disapearing FAST.
I don't mean too bad as in bad that you treated it failry I meant it was good that you treated it fairly. I got my G5 for 10,183 out the door loaded! Alloys Mylink, auto, steering controls power everything etc. With GM discount cash for clunkers discount and the G5 $4,000 rebate I'm getting a $19,000 car for almost half off. And it IS quality smooth and refined.
Ya well a buick century has a 3.1 liter V6. A 2.2 with 148hp is NOT bad. The regular G5 2.2 gets 155hp. The 3.1 liter V6 has arounf 170hp with 200lbft of torque. The G5 2.2 has 150bft. Which is quite good alot more that honda civic. Being a V6 your century is FAR from fast and should be ALOT faster than the G5 but it's NOT.
Well shows what you know, my car stock whipped the socks off of a '08 G6 with a 3.5L V6 and a '05 Buick Lacrosse with the 3.8L V6. Try and think u know more than me... your sadly mistaken, i rebuild motors for a living.
Sorry but my friend owns a La Crosse a 2000 buick century like Vince McMahon's song would have no chance in hell dude. You could beat a 190 3.8 but NOT a a La Crosse. You build build engines AND dream at the same time. Huh typical car video..... More dumb arguements. But you need do not speak the truth
That would include you too. Idiot. THINK about it. Derrrrr!! Anyways you could beat a 1990 3.8 but not a series 3 3800. You know your wrong so THIS comment is your trump card?? Pathetic. You are a major TARD. a 3.1 is a shitty low quality engine. Hell the shitty1984 2.8 out of the Chevy Celebrity eurosport high output "HO" was a better engine!
@MPGomatic. Too bad you are the one who treated the G5 fairly in your video. It seems that whenever other people argue they usually get ignored by the owner of the video but when I have something to say THEN the owner will say ah ah ah ah aaaahh!! Go ahead "nuke" it. Your excellent video will still remain and that is all I care about. This is youtube be realistic it should be called arguetube. I hate people! Watch my videos on hating people. I'm not wrong.
LOL my friend has an 86 euro sport celebrity that think is so slow. but its funny cuz it will spin the tires for about 4 feet and then it will take its time the accelerate. he wants to do the C4C thing at the dealer ship but I don't think he will get 4,500 for it.
My Dad had a 84 Eurosport Celebrity it had the HO [high output version] of the 2.8 V6 aound 185hp. At the time when it was new it could beat stock V8 Camaros. A guy he worked with had a Camaro raced him out of work got mad and demanded to see what was under the Eurosport's hood, he about shit himself to see a small V6 there and said there's no F*****' way!!!
just so you know the most powerful HO 2.8L V6 was in the ferio. it had 163 HP. The base celebrity's 2.8L V6 had 130 HP and the euro had that same power out put. all the euro had was better wheels and suspension. I know my GM history. The Camaro at the time was dog slow a 305 was about the most shameful V8 that GM made. in 84 it only had 165 HP and the cross fire had I think 200.
I don't think you understand the Eurosport Celebrity that my Dad had was a SPECIAL order and YES it DID have at least 180hp it was a special ordered HO 2.8 with high dome pistons the whole nine yards almost nobody knew about it. It had eurosport HO yes HO right on the back of the car on the trunk lid. Yup H.O. So no you do NOT know GM history. I have no reason to lie. He went through red tape to get it.
@ workensmartass. I see you are only 22 huh? Well that about sums it up right there! I was there I was a kid in 84 but I was there. No the shitty internet doesn't have the right info I looked it up and you are getting your info from the flawed internet. It was a special order option for the 2.8 in 84 my dad fought to get it. You are just a little kid who can only get info from flawed sources. I am 29 almost 30 and yeah high dome pistons. The Camaro he raced was a 350.
okay I don't know everything. I have never seen or heard of a 185 HP 2.8L was this with the GM perfromace parts catalog that they had for this engine?. I know that you could get performance parts for the 3.1L in the 90's. As for the smartass comment well yea sometimes I am but I was not trying to be one LOL.
A performance parts option? It may have been I'm not sure myself but it was NOT the regular 2.8 that was just CALLED an H.O. It really WAS an H.O the real deal special ordered. Off the truck the dealer first gave him a regular eurosport 2.8 and he refused it and made them order the H.O. The damn car could chirp in 2nd gear. The net is wrong it says the reg 2.8 was CALLED an H.O but it's wrong. The only real H.O eurosport I've seen was my Dad's. It could've beat my 92 3.1 Berretta easy.
NICE! and to think that the purpose of the XFE model was to shift at the 1700rpm mark when the 'light' comes on! That just throws any 0-60time out the window!
