@jellyz100 hold the volume up key, home key, then press the power button, still holding them down. when the galaxy s screen comes on take your fingers of and your in :)
When I mount my phone all I see is my external SD card on my computer. I don't see the internal one. How do I access the internal SD card? I have the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4G. Thank You.
@sheni7 try taking out ur external then give it a try and if that dont work go to ur settings and make sure ur phone itself is still reading the internal which it should be i nver have heard of the internal going bad but hey u never know i guess
@BlinkPhaseVideos and @MrKillerboy92. I have same issues as @MrKillerboy92. I followed the staps you prescribed but it seems the phone (Samsung Captivate with Froyo) is defaulting to "Android System Recover (3e), Samsung Recovery Utilities". i hit the install from sd card from Rom Manager and after that I continued with the selection to reinstall packages. I get this message, "Fail to verify whole file signature; Signature verification failed. Installation aborted".
i upgraded my captivate to 2.2 manually and its already rooted, so do i just follow these steps to install the roms? I dont need to flash back to 2.1 right?
when i reboot into recorvery it goes to that standard recovery screen....instead of clockwork. and even when i hit reinstall packages it says error invalid. and reinstall packages should take me to clockwork right? what do i do
@mushroomslookcool i know bro... its pissing me off that i can flash my custom rom to my phone... its saying the same thing as you just stated... there needs to be a fix quickly...
Hey man, great video! But I've got some problems with rebooting into clockworkMod recovery image. I've downloaded the latest update, which is 2.5.1.2. When rebooting into clockworkMod recovery image I end up in "android system recovery (3e)", which is totally wrong because I clearly want the clockworkMod recovery image. So do you have any solutions to my problem?
I'm running android 2.2 on a samsung galaxy s (I9000).
@MrKillerboy92 are u still having trouble ?? cause i know what ur talking about it seems like the newest update of rom manager or the newest recovery if having some problems look what i did was i hit the install from sd card option from the rom manager app and ull still prob wind up at the samsung recov but hit reinstall packages and it should bring u to the right recov thats how ive been doing it but let me know if u get it working that way
@cobrastomas Yes u can but ive heard of people that didnt so u might want to read around and see what people have to say but tech yeas this does void ur warranty
I have rom manager, But witch galaxy s phone dose it work with, i have a samsung mesmerize, but when i get my rom it dont have my phone listed in rom manager
@Austinhaney2oo rom manager is supposed to work with most phones like sammy htc etc but it sounds like they didnjt do anything for ur phone but ill look into it and see what i find
What if any would I be gaining in flashing another ROM? My phone is perfect, but I`m just curious as to, would I gain anything use full or is the ROM`s all about appearance?
@814d937 sry it took a bit to reply been working a lot umm one thing u gain is app sideloading which if ur not familiar with that its where u can install apps that are not from the market like a tethering app some roms are different ver. of the android os like stock captivate runs 2.1 im running a custom 2.2 rom and that gives me things like flash content the new youtube app and other cool 2.2 stuff umm custom roms dont have carrier bloat ware and if u want u can do a lag fix to make ur phone
@814d937 very very fast but it does have a bad side u do run a chance of bricking ur phone if u do something wrong i hear u void ur warranty by rooting and all that but for me its worth the risk just be sure to follow every instuction step by step dont try to take any short cuts and ull be just fine
@mrblue103 it depends the roms that i have reviewed by default wipe user date but i also recommend doing that anyways but ur gmail account will back up ur contacts and u can use an app titanium backup to backup ur apps and settings. clean installs are better when switching from one rom to another just when u save contacts make sure u save them to ur gmail account and when u log back into the market on ur new rom it will sync ur contacts right back to ur phone
Hey man great vids. really informative and clear. when you install custom roms im assuming that the rom will already be rooted right?(noob question) and is sideloading enabled too?
@Ch33ryGarcia well u have to root the phone its self then that allows u to install the other roms and ur root carries over to the next rom and all the roms ive done a review on sideloading is there i would think all custom roms would have it but im 100% prob more like 95% lolbut hey dont worry im a noob to it was a pain learning how to do all this with me coming from an iphone so thats why i make the videos to help people like u and me
does this work with miui i really want that rom
