It should work fine. I did mine fine with no problems. Worked like a charm. As 'hopefukid' said, the main difference is just Cydia. I just jailbroke my i4 a few days ago and haven't had any problems. I've still been purchasing music and apps from the App Store and iTunes with no problem and syncing has been working fine as well :D

@caulol Yes it works with 4.0.1 I've would sync with itunes first then try the jailbreak me. If you don't like it you can plug your device into itunes then back up and restore you'll back to Pre-jailbreak.

(well acctually it does...because once u jailbreak ur more likely to be on it more often :D ) well blackra1n wasnt the best jailbreak. every time u shut off ur ipod blackra1n would stop working and you would have to reset it or re jailbreak it. most of the mew jailbreaks dont have that problem. u can shut it off all u want. u should for sure jailbreak ur iphone 4. i know i am:) hope this helped!

1.Close the tab in Safari of the jailbreak page

2.Exit Safari

3.Go to Settings -> Safari -> Accept Cookies

4.change Accept Cookies to ALWAYS

5.Go back one menu step and click on "Clear Cookies" and "Clear Cache"

6.Go back into Safari and go to jailbreakme.modmyi.com

7.Should work!
