  • Dude you have NO clue how to set up or use your poles.. And you forgot how they help stabilize the down hill, or use them to push brush and thorn aside to make safe passage.. And seriously, the first thing to be taught should be PROPER GRIP and STRAP USE... Your gonna hurt people with this video!

I have been using "poles" for 10 years or more and have never seen such a poor example from an "Expert"

  • I know these items are very popular and as explained have some benefit, but they are not an item that is really needed. People have been doing fine without them for thousands of years. I used them for years when they first came out but no longer feel I have a need for them. They're just something else to carry. Where they do shine is in crossing a deep stream but a discardable stick works just as well. Thanks anyway, but no thanks.

  • This is one of the MANY reasons expertvillage is crap. They got un-experienced guys giving out false information, and also they segment their videos into ridiculous amounts of segments. This video needs to be deleted because its actually harmful to use the poles the way this guy does.

  • he doesn't even walk with them right, what a tool

  • Only watch this clip to see how NOT to do it. He is gripping the pole in the wrong place, the straps are wrong & the hight is wrong

  • this isn't a video on how to use poles it on uses of poles video misleading

  • you should watch my video on how to fuck off

  • I'm sorry to contradict, but we've trained thousands of people to use their bodies efficiently using poles. Correct use of the straps will prevent hand/wrist/shoulder strain and recruit core muscles. Optimal pole length will improve performance on steep terrain. Trekking poles are hugely beneficial for saving your knees, but you really don't want to convert that saved energy into hand strain. Learn optimal use, but probably not from this video. Sorry!

  • I've used trekking poles extensively in the past and found them unnecessary. A lot of people enjoy using them but I find less helpful than useful.

  • Hate it when those American Jungle Spiders attack. Thank god for trekking poles!

  • Please dont anyone ever attack a snake with a trekking pole if its in your way. Otherwise the snake will bite your balls off and you'll end up doing youtube videos for expertvilage. Just good advice.

  • I think he should stick those poles up his ASS.

  • i agree

  • This guy doesn't know how to insert his hands in the loops. The way he's holding them is dangerous. This video should be pulled.

  • I got poles for Christmas and went out today to try them out. Keeping in mind it's -13 Celcius and we've had a lot of snow. I usually walk with 3 lbs. weights in each hand and I have developed a walking rhythm already. The poles were awkward. I had no snow thingamabobs on the bottom. I had no rhythm. But - I was helped when I slipped, the pole steadied me. I think if it were a hike in the mountains I might enjoy them. Walking around the neighbourhood kinda lacks something.

  • mostly in scandinavia thout

  • actualy this european thing evrybody use them on hiking trip, or some peoples just walking in the strees and do sport
