Ben plays good man, i guess this time, mike wasnt ready for the song. hehehe, dont get me wrong, he's like one of the best guitarrist for me, but he wasnt that well playing this song..
This was a good Peformance i think Take me to yo leader was down Because Ben doesn't like to "slap" when he plays his bass which as dirk lance did great
love the 'drum speak' they do, i used 2 do that as a kid when i learned 2 play drums, never hear a band do it on sage tho. An dont you thin Jose`s beat at 4:37 is amazing lol

damn , ben sucks so hard , jajaja, that stupid bass scale in vitamin its so lame, it doesnt even sound smooth. definitely old songs can be performed only by the allmighty dirk
He doesn't suck. He just has a different style and he adds something new to the band. You've never seen Dirk do crazy drum solos with Jose and Brandon back. then.
brandon is an amazing vocalist... he is pretty much perfect on this song... he sounds exactly the same as he did on the recorded version of this song... good to know he can still nail every note of their older stuff....
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Jesus christ they can't even play their old stuff. That bass player adds nothing to the classics. this version is about 20bpm too slow! I miss the old days of incubus playing the sunset strip and the cobalt cafe
@Bungletronics Are you serious? So you're pissed that they were lucky enough to go mainstream? I'd hate to break it to you, but most bands don't want to say in reclusion on the Sunset Strip or the Cobalt Cafe. And to add to it they've gone mainstream and still retained their unique Incubus sound. Yeah sure their musical styles have grown up a ton since the mid and late 90's, but thats a good thing. Artists are supposed to progress and move forward not backward.
@cjsturmwehr12489 So sue me for reminiscing. Where did I say that I think they should ONLY play those venues? I simply stated that I miss the days when they did. continued in next post due to too many characters
@cjsturmwehr12489 Fact: this rendition of one of their old songs (from an era I favor) is not played well. I'm happy for them that they get to make music and do what they love for a living. Obviously their success shows they've done something right. My personal opinion which this forum allows, is that the music they made prior to changing styles and becoming famous is not to my liking. I don't feel that it has a "unique incubus sound".
@cjsturmwehr12489 So I challenge you to find where I stated that they SHOULD stay where they were 10 - 15 years ago. The music was certainly better and more creative back then. Also at that time, they had an extremely unique sound that many bands copied. They were one of the first to incorporate a DJ. They've lost that edge and now play girly ballads that no longer appeal to ME.
@Bungletronics But as the years go on. I still don't see them as having "lost the spark" or as you put it "gone girly". I enjoyed Light Grenades in 2006 as much as I enjoyed S.C.I.E.N.C.E. when I first heard it back in 1997. In fact if anything I'd have to call what you dislike, improvement. Brandon Boyd has gone from rapping to complete harmony. They have gone from an "Early Chili Pepper-esque" funk metal band to diverse and multi-faceted group of artists.
@cjsturmwehr12489 I've never heard Brandon Boyd rap with the exception of the BIG Pun cover. People, things, music, time, all change. Everyone has different opinions. Can we both agree that Hoobustank did themselves a disservice by losing the horn section and spelling their name with an "a"? I'm glad you have an optimistic outlook on a band you love. Kudos to you for that. Perhaps I'm becoming a crotchity old fart who longs for the better times?
@cjsturmwehr12489 Please don't take my comment and put words into it that are not there. I don't see Led Zeppelin or Paul McCartney butchering their classic tunes today. They still play them well and that was my main point.
@Bungletronics I remember going to a Red Hot Chili Peppers meet and greet one time and they all kind of acted like assholes. Like we were ruining their day by being there. Anthony Kiedis was kinda like "Give me your CD, there I signed it now fuck off, NEXT!!". While Brandon Boyd and the whole band for that matter were some of the politest people I've ever met.
@cjsturmwehr12489 Please don't take my comment and put words into it that are not there. I don't see Led Zeppelin or Paul McCartney butchering their classic tunes today. They still play them well and that was my main point.
@Bungletronics Id didn't mean my comment as an attack. You and I just simply completely disagree. Since you have actually seen Incubus in concert in the mid 90's I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you're older than me. But like you my brother has been a fan ever since "Fungus Amongus". So I started taking notice of them in like '97 when he bought S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and I was like 8 years old. But anyway by the time Morning View came out I was already totally into it.
@Bungletronics Thats really cool. I by no means knew them closely, and the longest I've ever "met" them for is for like 35 seconds each at a meet and greet one time. Thats quite an envious experience you have had. And another reason why I like them is because they really seem to have a good respect for their fans. At the above mentioned meet and greet while I only met them very briefly all of them were genuine and asked everybody personally how there day was and made small talk. it was cool.
My God... Take Me To Your Leader sucks without slap bass.
Vitamin is cool, however I wished they played more (other) SCIENCE songs. E.g. Idiot Box, Glass, New Skin, ACSOG, Calgone or Redefine in their original form!
this is in lisbon portugal :) i live in portugal now and out of the 6 times they been here i only missed this concert at rock in rio..i got to see the other 5!i want more heheh :)
