  • dont gays read the bible? god says that homosexuality is a abomination to him. if gays want to get close to god. ask god to change them first. its possible ive seen a pastor who through god changed a man from homosexuality. he was vomitting in the floor and the spirit of homosexuality was taken out from him and he was free.

  • So Romans 1:26-27 is simply to be ignored? The bible is being interpreted for the convenience and pleasure of man. Not for what it clearly states. That is sin pure and simple. It's not someone posting here being judgmental and any suggestion they are when they suggest the bible clearly says what it says is a unfortunate dodge that is clear to any discerning thinking Christian. That my friend is you being judgmental by trying to suggest they are. Give that some thought. Very very sad.

  • listen the law is as simple as black and white homosexuality is a sin and also nobody should be called reverend or father except for my father in heaven this is in matthew and also women should keep silent on sundays and also why was soddom and gommorah destroyed? homosexuality how can preach about love and ig nore these laws?

  • @miyore00

    While i appreciate and value your opinion...it is just that: an opinion. My understanding of those scriptures is probably a bit different than yours, and we should be encouraged to respect one another...and not go into judgment of fellow believers. I believe that it is sin for us, as Christian to force people to live a closeted life, or put aside their God-given call.

  • Dear Friend, I appreciate the thoughts of Rev. Mark A. Looyenga which I assume are based upon Genesis 2:22-24. I do not share the understanding of these verses that you and Rev. Looyenga have. I do not think our differing views have to be categorized as "right and wrong." I think differences drive us, as Christians, to talk with one another. And I thought our salvation was determined by Jesus' birth, death and resurrection, not our fulfilling certain requirements. Thanks be to God. Peace.

  • Dear Rev Edwards, Thank you for your reply. Let me quote Rev Mark A Looyenga of Covenant Presbyterian Church. "Marriage, between a man and a women, is the covenant within which sexual union is ordained by God. That means any other sexual union is sin, including that of both heterosexuals and homosexuals who have monogamous relationships outside of marriage." Our salvation is determined by Gods requirements that are laid out in the Bible. You are disregarding scripture to embrace sin.

  • Rev. Edwards, I do have a question. How will you address those individuals who wish to leave homosexuality? I am asking because I am one of those individuals who read the Bible and discovered that my choices were not compatible with God.

    Thank you for your time.

  • @heze9kiah Dear Friend, Thanks for sharing your passionate convictions about the meaning of Scripture and a little about your own journey. To you I say: I respect your choices for your own life journey and I invite you to respect the choices of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Christians who understand God's word differently than you do. I trust that you love your LGBT neighbors and know from Paul that love does not insist on its own way. Why do you require me to believe exactly as you?

  • (pt4) Let me extoll in Godly compassion kindness & love to those who weep over this blasphemous decision. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them;

    Ephesians 5:5-7

  • (pt3) Compassion is warning individuals that choosing this dangerous lifestyle will could take 20 years off your life. God himself compassionately warns of the consequences of those who engage in sodomy in Romans 1:27 ...about receiving in themselves the due penalty. Think AIDS, cancer and disease. God also warns those that continue to follow these false leaders. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 2 Peter 2:2

  • (pt 2) God says of these arrogant people, “Ever learning, and never able to come to truth.” 2 Tim. 3:7 In the news some Presbyterians responded with catch words like kind, loving & compassionate. I’m not sure what is compassionate about encouraging someone to chose a lifestyle that gives them a 55% chance of catching AIDS (CDC study) or a 20% greater chance of getting anal cancer? It makes as much sense as encouraging someone to take up heroin?

  • (pt1) Well it looks like the 219th Presbyterian General Assembly has decided they know better than God when it comes to those practicing homosexuality. So they rubber stamped their approval over a practice that God condemns as sin. In a press release directed at members of their own denomination they stated, “Those who weep will consider this change one that compromises Biblical authority and acquiesces to present culture.” Well it wasn’t God who changed his mind on the subject.

  • All of us are born in original sin. Original sin manifests itself differently in different people (lying, stealing, drunkneness, fornication, sodomy, etc). We need to be born again before we can ever become a child of God. It's only by God's grace, through faith, that this change takes place in some of us [Eph 2v8]. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble [1Pe 5v5]. Those who are born of God do not commit sin, because God's seed abides in them [1Jo 3v9, Joh 15v1-6].
