"Reincarnanation" and "Premonition" are good but "Infection" just didn't do it for me. If you like the hospital type movie I would suggest "Sick Nurses".

Japanese people have differnt culture, it sometime do not translate to English well. Their belief also do not translate in use of symbolism, reincarnation and the soul, and ghost all sometime are confusing when go from Japanese to English. I am Finish girl my English is not great.

I found out that the ending with the locker and the hand covered in the green goo is supposed to be Akiba, who as you know went missing near the end of the film. My guess is that the infection IS real, but that Nakazono is the one who has it and the other doctors and nurses died of unnatural-yet-natural (if that makes sense) causes.

Hmm... I just checked out the link & watched a trailer. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as "Infection", but maybe worth watching. The endless road idea is very creative, & it seems like there may be some disturbing images; which I love in horror movies.

Great film, ok it didn't really answer all questions but that's because it's for you to interperet your own ideas. Basically it's a film about perception and {SPOILER...sort of}...beware of people that are colourblind ha ha.

Finished watching the movie & it did leave my scratching my head a bit, from what I got of it on the apple part....the brain can imagine the color, even if it's in sunlight or under artificial light.

The mind will see what you want it to see....Someone said earlier that it leaves an opening for a 2nd movie, that's possible but it probably wouldn't be as good as the first.

Hey Roger. From your video channel it looks like you're a long-time expat, possibly an ESL teacher? I went through a similar j horror phase when i was teaching in China, and I remember Infection as the first one that really bored me. After all the movies you've seen, does j horror still do it for you?

honestly it comes and goes in phases. I can be in love with the genre and then not watch it for months and find every release cliche and boring. I find when I watch too many of these j-horror films in a short time span, I get really bored with them very quickly. But spread out over time I can appreciate them more.

To clear out some confusion, I don't think infection was guilt because it also infected innocent people.(Young nurse, Young doctor, and female doctor)

Infection was the course of Akai who was the burnt patient. It first infected the people responsible for his death than it spread out from there on. By the way Akai means color red in Japanese. His name might mean something since the color red was significant in the movie.

Actually the infected patient is turned away. Watch it again, its about what the mind preceives and the ghost take advantage of to get revenge, thats what I got from it without reading anything yet.

I saw this movie and, seriously, it sucked balls. I saw the preview for this movie and expected so much more from it. Then i rented the damn movie and fell asleep watching it. It was that damn boring. so my advice is to completely steer clear of this movie. it really sucks. =(

It grabbed me from the get-go. I was amazed! I thought it was one of the greatest films ever!

...And then the ending crapped all over it. MAN does it ever suck! Basically, you don't know what's real and what's not. You don't even know if anything happened at all!!! Completely nonsensical and leaves WAY too much unsaid. I was expecting there to be a sequel, it was such an open non-ending. When I found there wasn't one, I was pissed!

I think part of what makes a J-horror film a J-horror film is a crappy nonsensical ending. I still find Infection to be one of the better of the genre.

And thank goodness for no sequel. Have you ever seen a J-horror series that actually wrapped up ANYTHING in a sequel?

"Infection" could have been infectious but instead a mediocre mess. But giving credits to where credit is due, it does have some scary moments like the unknown infection itself, the group of doctors making a pact after accidently killed a patient, and literally, the wandering ghost. It has good atmosphere but the ending left me scratching my head.
