Yeah solar panels are robust but not THAT robust, as in I try to keep those kinds of things up and out of the way, so the idea of having panels on the roof AND in layers like slide out draws - has much merit.
Also the side props to support them... too flimsy in strong winds and idiots grabbing onto one of them.
I'd rather up - out of the way and unbreakable supports.
True enough, though sliding panels from the top does add more weight to the top of the trailer and making it higher, making it more likely to roll over and snake. I think it's one of those cases, where you will end up with a compromise no matter what you do.
@callmeshane303 yeah, a car out of control coming towards you is a scary thing, you can quickly mess things up with a trailer if you are not careful, even if it's unmodified.
Better if it lay on the roof - too easy to damage on the side - and fold it out or slide it out.

Didn't think of that - not so much the tipping over - but the way things can sway and weave..
I have seen a car go into a weave towing a caravan - coming towards us across both lanes of the highway... and back...
Almost totally out of control and about to flip over etc.
Yeah so lots of weight up top - when running - not so good.
