Theres a DVD called "The Other Side of AIDS" that takes the position that HIV does not cause AIDS. It was directed by Robin Scovill, husband of Christine Maggiore, the woman that founded Alive and Well. She was diagnosed HIV positive in 1994 and claims that AIDS is a myth created by drug companies. In 2005 her three year old daughter, whom she breast fed and never had tested, died of advanced AIDS.

I remember reading about her in Newsweek some years ago. Back in the late 90's I think. They did an amazingly credulous story on her. Some quotes still stand out all these years later. Like the mag reporting that her beliefs were backed by drug box cartons, personal anecdotes, and other such "serious" evidence. It was amazing how kooky she sounded even with Newsweek giving her such serious treatment.

Yeah, she showed up in the media in late '90s. As a skeptically minded person, I don't mind admitting that cranks fascinate me! Right now the AIDS Denial people interest me the most. Mostly because the link between HIV and AIDS just seems like something that has been so thoroughly verified. But then again evolution is one of the most robust theories ever conceived and there are people that don't accept that either so go figure.

The only store I know of in the US that has carts like that is the German-owned store Aldi, which require a 25-cent deposit to unhook the chain which you then get back after putting the cart back.

Well, first off are high-quality versions of the existing episodes: Astrology, Creationism, the Moon Hoax, the War on Drugs, and the Bible Codes. After that is a new episode: the Law of Attraction.

I'd love to do one on the banking system (a new documentary might make that one possible), the 9/11 conspiracy (I'd want to take the time to do that one right, given the tragedy), health care, minimum wage, nuclear myths, Uri Geller/Sylvia Browne and other psychics, a LOT about the legal system...I'm not going to run out of ideas anytime soon.
