  • its almost too easy.

  • @chrisisagoodname2 well...

  • You got the title wrong here.. It's de ashi harai (harai in pronounced as barai..)

  • Are they dancing? Stupid

  • Spelt, De Ashi Barai which means "advancing foot sweep" advancing meaning as it is coming forward.

  • @fitey43,

Advanced foot sweep, meaning you sweep the foot that is advanced, or farther forward. You don't have to do it as uke is walking towards you. It's actually easier to do this sweep as uke is retreating.

  • DeepClue is right

Thats more "gari" than "barai", because the foot its already planted at the floor

  • whatever the spelling, it's supposed to be done as uke is shifting his weight toward the swept foot--not when it's firmly planted.

  • @DeepClue this is like making fun of judo itself and its first codified movement of the kodokan DE ASHI BARAI. all the spirit of judo is in this MOVEment.

  • it's de ashi barai it's or okouri..

  • It isn't dashi-barai, it's deashi-barai.
