thank you! i am a person of mixed race as well, my mother is Filipino and my father is a Black American... WHY is it that people are always trying to make us choose one or the other?? It makes me so mad! No one has the right to tell me how to feel or how to act, or to try and put me in a box!! I think this comes from the archaic laws of the south that one drop of "colored" blood makes you colored. and sadly that's how many people still see things today. I think it's GREAT to explore all sides of your ethnicities, and I have many mixed nieces and nephews, both blasians, and black/white mix. I say don't get hung up, you'll drive yourself crazy trying to get fools not to be foolish, just keep up being you, and leave the asses behind.

Many people from two different lineages have issues and pressure brought on by from society (western most I think), the bigger the juxtaposition of the parents sometimes, the lack of the stability of sense of self. It's never been a issue with how Tiger chose to identify himself to me.

Its all about owning your true sense of self if you have the knowledge of it, understand what I mean?

We all individually are one being; no matter what the make up of our parents, we can only be one person, that is not discarding either of a parent's heritage, its accepting all of it and bringing it into one unity of existence. That is really what it is all about and you can tell when a person managed to achieve that feat, because nobody teaches how to.

Well once someone has black in them the world views them as a "black" person. The Asian community (unless they probably saw you or any other person who was half black and half Asian) with their Asian family would view the individual as a black person. The same goes for Tiger Woods. From the world's point of view the "other" culture being appreciated does not matter...just from what one appears to be on the outside. i.e. race.
