I remember watching this game with my buddies in my dorm room at Iowa and thinking what an incredible battle this was all afternoon long, Chuck Long vs. Jim Everett. Houghtlin's kick with 1:07 left put Iowa ahead, but what a lot of folks don't remember is that Purdue drove to the Iowa 20, and with the last few seconds ticking off, Everett heaved a pass out of bounds to try to stop the clock. Leon Burtnett went up to the refs to ask that time be put back on the clock, but to no avail.
Just a crazy game. Purdue had a 100 yard pick-six by a certain defensive back named Rod Woodson that wound up being a 14 point turnaround. That final minute was the craziest I've ever seen in football.
It's obvious I made a mistake; just as obvious that you never strapped up for Iowa. Not even sure you attended the University. Just another MUTT in search of a home...
