  • Old Guy loves this shit.

  • This is a video for the black keys.

  • Beautiful " new- blues " !

    Thanks

  • thank you

  • Music nowadays has no soul...no heart. Glad to see somebody doin something thats actually worth listening to.

  • @dougrippe33 I agree 100%! This is what music should be.

  • WHAT AN AMAZING BAND, THEY HAVE THAT DELTA, MISSISSIPPI, SO-HOMEGROWN SOUND, CHRIST, ALL I HEAR AS THEIR INFLUENCES, CANNED HEAT OF COURSE, ELEMENTS OF JOE COCKER, ZEPPELIN OF COURSE, LEADBELLY, ETC., KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK DUDE--YOU HAVE A GOOD EAR FOR THE FUNDAMENTALS, MOST PEOPLE HAVE LOST THAT INSTINCT!!!

  • I saw these guys live at a festival and i thought they were great but i never realised how amazing they are till now

    Thank you for posting

  • actually 4 people disliked this video so we could make a stupid pun about them

  • I've never had a band from this time that I've been crazy about, until I found The Black Keys. HELL YES. <3<3

  • Its funny that you named this video"keeping the blues alive"... about 6 years ago I was walking down cuyahoga falls ave in north akron when I heard this fucking rocking blues music coming from a nearby bar. The very first thing I thought to myself was "i coulda sworn the blues were dead... obviously I was wrong" Thats the first time I heard the black keys. I just thought it was a cool coincidence that we both thought the same thing.

  • HELL YEA HOWLIN WOLF

  • GREAT selection of tunes. Thanks for posting.

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Hold Me In your Arms gets me so pumped

  • I like extremely this fantastic band, When I hear them I remind Hendrix, Ten years After, and all that good bands from the sixties, and of course the Great Stevie Ray Vaughn, cheers for them

  • could you put a song list into the info box? please and thankyou

  • what's the second song called?

  • this song is called countdown btw

  • TBK = tabarnak

  • If anyone could post a copy of The Black Keys doing '120 seconds' I would appreciate it - fing WMG has blocked it over here :-/

  • HOLY CRAP!!! i did not know their was still good music out there

  • The Blues is alive and kickin' wth the Black Keys .

  • Question for you guys out there.... Does anyone have a good tab for Run Me Down because I can't figure this one out on my own. Please spare me the "learn it by ear". Duh I've tried that and I can't figure this particular song out.

  • @rawu10000 i cant figure out the exact tabs but its played mainly in A , with with a few changes to C and G

  • @rawu10000 Try 911tabs(dot)com it's where I get mine

  • @rawu10000 Best way to find out the tabs to a song is first identify the key then to figure out the intervals, is it major or minor? Then that should give you an idea of what Scale/Mode they're using and what key. From there its trial and error. I'll save you some trouble and say that Run Me Down is definitely done in the Minor Blues Scale.

  • this is a fantastic collection, but you're missing one song...

    KEEP ME!

add Keep Me to the list. you know it's one of the best modern blues songs ever written. you know it!

  • @BigCM06 Yes Keep Me is awesome and so is If You See Me. I would love to put everything on here but theres only so much room. Love me some keys. I love almost every single TBK song on every LP and EP, except some on attack and release.

  • @rawu10000 just curious...what songs don't you like on attack and release?

  • awesome mix man.

  • heard these guys today i'm gonna buy their new CD tomorrow holy monkeyshit they just play the blues like its supposed to !

  • whats the nake of the song when this video first starts ?

  • countdown

  • The Black Keys really give you faith that music isnt dead Dan Auerbach RUlz ALL! im goin 2 see them at Madison square garden!!!! if you like TBK up this comment

  • @xXXsk8ter4lifXXx was the show awesome? I saw them a fw times but the last was the best. It was supposed to be outdoors but it started raining so they moved it into an auditorium. THe sound in this place was impeccable. It sounded like pats drums were 10000 feet tall. Then dan kicks in and immedietly stops and motions "up" to the sound guy...as in turn me up mutha fucka. The sound guy obliged and dan played mind numbingly loud for the rest of the set....I loved every second of it.

  • I saw them in Atlanta a couple times. Great band. I've been rocking out to the Attack & Release album for the last week now.

  • i really just wish they were the whole songs instead of blips from a bunch of em. good choices in songs tho.

they rock! i saw them at voodoo fest and am just wondering when and where i can catch them again

  • The Black Keys are pretty much the only band I follow. So good.

My username is made up of two of their songs..

    lol

  • I've always been a big blues fan. I was amazed when I saw a modern band do a Muddy Waters cover. Great stuff.

  • Hell Yeah Brother!!!! thank you.

  • they're just great

  • very cool. yearnin' & hurt like mine are 2 of my favorites. along with busted, midnight, and grown so ugly. which is a great cover of a robert pete william's classic.

  • thank you so much for puttin these on here, this is really something a black keys fan can appreciate

  • those last two are a couple of my personal favorites

  • canned heat

  • I consider myself a huge black keys fan, but cant tell you what the first couple songs are. will someone giveme a track list and albums details?

  • 1. Countdown

    2. Run me Down

    3. Yearnin'

    4. Hurt like Mine

    5. Hold me in your Arms

  • @stratplayer613 couldnt be fucked searchin for the cd but i can assure you the first few songs were from their first album, 'the big come up'

  • appeasement: successful.

  • GREAT JOB!

  • yeee! 3:14 - SRV and Tommy Shannon, two of the masters.

  • Oh yeah... you picked some good ones!

  • Blues rules!

  • Thank you! These cuts make me like them even more!

  • "just trying to please some Black Keys fans like myself" - And a damn fine job you have done. Much respect.

  • thank you! ...Dan now has a solo album. I listen to pieces of it on amazon. Sounds pretty good from what I heard.

  • A solo album?? I'm not sure if I'd like that. They were/are such a fantastic duo!

I hear a lot of people saying 'Wow, they'd take over the world if they had a bassist' but I personally think that such a move would destory them. The genuis that is the two of them is gold as it is. I hope they make more albums as a duo, but Dan's solo album would most definitely be worth listening to.

Do you know what it's called by any chance?

  • its Keep it Hid, and they havent broken up, neither will they, atleast due to dan doing some solo stuff

  • the whole albums on his myspace. I think all the songs are in their entirety as well. I actually went out and bought the album though =)

  • The more I listen to the album the better it gets. Dan just has a knack for writing songs. The album has gotten really good reviews. The Prowl, Whispered Words, Heartbroken in Disrepair are my favorites.

  • black keys for ever! 2 badass dudes.

  • oh aye ! . . proper .

  • Countdown makes me smile everytime i hear it. Amazing album (the big come up), timeless band.

  • can someone please name the songs in order...lol, why the hell didn't you do that in the first place? lol, jk

  • Countdown, Run Me Down, Yearnin', Hurt Like Mine, and Hold Me In Your Arms

  • if you guys like this try Junior Kimbrough i just learned that he was a big inspiration to them or john lee hooker (detroits best) personally i think they should add a bassist and a harp player and see what happens.

  • Good point. Any big Keys fan knows that Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside were major influences on their music, mostly on Dan. The Chulahoma album which covers Kimbrough's songs is some of their very best work... In their latest album they did use a few new instruments like jazz flute, organ, and some back ground beats. This was also the first time they used a producer to record an album. I personally didn't like Attack and Release as much as their pervious stuff. TBK will always be Dan & Pat.

  • well well well said. Dans low toned guitar makes up for a bass player. I would like to see more harp in them, that would be nice.

  • makes sense, I told pandora radio that I like the black keys and it always plays junior kimbrough now.

I thought i just liked blues rock, but after listening to some of kimbrough's songs, I'm starting to like the good old regular blues as well.

  • they r immense seein for third time in sheffield uk next thursday gonna go mental haha! they influenced a slight change in style in my band. love it! niceone

  • i just found out about these guys a few months ago, i love their style, can't believe more people dont know about them.

  • They were at Lollapalooza this past summer. Sick band.

  • Good work my friend! spreading the word. Have seen the keys 3 times now, i cant get enough! the best live band ive ever seen! all 6 albums are genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thx!

  • i love the black keys. one of the best bands around.the lenghts is immense. the white stripes are also good though. It is ok to like both bands.

  • Yes it's cool to like both bands, people who say the hate one just to spite the other are morons. Personally I like TBK more. Jack White is really talented and gets more press so that helps his band. I really like a hand full of songs from TWS, but I like nearly every song on every cd from TBK. Going to TBK concert in Dallas tomorrow!!!

  • thanks for uploading, at least someone on youtube appreciates these tunes.thank god for the Keys. i dont know how i would get by without em'.

  • Could you possibly provide a list of all the songs you used for this? I would like to see if there are full versions on youtube of them all.

  • Sure, I would love to help a TBK fan, but I made this video because I couldn't find these songs on youtube either. I didn't want to make several different videos thats why I just used parts to make one big video. Heres the list.

    1. Countdown

    2. Run me Down

    3. Yearnin'

    4. Hurt like Mine

    5. Hold me in your Arms

  • Thank you so much. :) I really need to pick up their CDs but I'm perpetually broke. ;-p

  • The Black Keys are unbelievable i don't know of any other band that makes such soulful music. Thanks for the video man.

  • great stuff really

  • absolutely love these guys! Saw them in Ohio when The Big Come Up just came out. Been hooked ever since. Almost too good to be true. Great post, thanks

  • Thanks Raw, That is the way it should be-RAW BLUES. Also, thanks for the pics of the GREATS! Payin' your prop. respects rawu dude! Rock on! srvinfinity

  • Thanks srv. A couple of pics at the beginning I snapped myself at a concert last year. Seeing them again in Dallas next month!

  • My God. They are great.

  • These lads are shit hot. And the facial hair...wow

  • black keys = amazing! they are so underrated...

  • MMMmmmmmhmmmm

  • Great stuff. Does anyone know what the first song in the video is and which album its from?

    Cheers

  • "Countdown" The Big Come Up

  • great video! does a great band justice. so much better than the white stripes!

  • thank you. and yes, that last part goes without saying.
