  • i blame mats sundin for making the leafs so bad by retireing

  • Lol Toskala, just stop.

  • I give it a A+ FAIL

  • Ummmmmmmm.........that deserves an EPIC FAIL

  • These are all of the Islanders highlights of the 00's

  • Lol

  • Who score this goal???

  • Comment removed

  • I did that... and i got pulled but it was a bouncing puck so i was pissed

  • Sure the puck isn't just a black tennis ball? lol

  • Puck luck at its worst (and best for the other guy).

  • I see nothing wrong with that. That was NOT his fault. Being a goalie myself, i know that bouncing pucks are terrible to handle. He was just unlucky on how it bounced.

  • Epic fail toskala

  • Just saying, as a goalie those bouncing pucks are THE WORST. You just never know where the puck is going to bounce so i dont blame the goalie here

  • that sucks

  • The puck is frozen so that it doesn't bounce as much. That's not supposed to happen. Give him a break.

  • its funny because thats the only goal that vesa let in that night

  • Sebastien Caron, former Penguins goalie let in one even worse.

  • Check out my videos!

  • @31Hockyman I mean ball

  • I play peewee hockey and I could have saved that bouncing puck. Just like a tennis bsll

  • @31Hockeyman no, you couldn't.

  • lol! leafs suck

  • It bounced...are you telling me you would have know that was going to happen?

  • the is the worst goalie in the world the maple leafs should hav let him go

  • he just let it in so he could be famous around the world

  • The puck was tipped of and bouncing everywhere so it was hard to stop.... For him

  • that normal for the leafs

  • Rockin' Felix Potvin's old mask, love it !

  • That's a bad goal to let in, but that puck was unpredictable while bouncing.

  • I would say epic failure but it is a bouncing puck and that is really hard to stop and i am not a maple leafs fan i hate them

  • Comment removed

  • he was in front of it the puck bounced to the side lol...seriously stfu unless u know what u r talking about

  • all you have to do is be in front of it you don't need to scoop it up but if it jumps over your head and goes in then idk

  • One of the most ironic things in hockey is that the pick San Jose got in exchange for Toskalol ended up being Logan Couture.

  • a bouncing puck can be very hard to stop

  • @AKzach97 for the leafs it is

  • And this is why we get our body in front of the shot....

  • I hate Toskala, very bad for Leafs nation (me) he is dumb, notice you still hear:

    Holy Mackinaw>?

  • @superskylark24 Toskala isnt bad, he just played for a bad team

  • Very funny lol, but like most ppl r sayin, unlucky bounce. So 4 anyone who thinks the leafs suk, stfu, cuz they either have won more stanley cups ,or doin better this year than ur team, btw u shouldnt hate toskala, because that waz the only puck he let in that night :D.

  • mahtaa pojalla hävettää

  • Toskala is a great goalie, that´s clear. He was just unlucky, because the puck was bouncing too much and a bad way, so it was very hard for him to determine where the puck was going... You can see he had his glove prepared. Maybe he could leave his crease and go for the puck out, but I don´t know... And btw. a message for all of you who are throwing shit on Toskala because of this unlucky goal: I´d like to see YOU in this situation.

  • @Imposful Toskala was absolutly NOT a great goalie or even close!! im a lifelong leaf fan, he may have a good backup goalie in San Jose but was an epic fail as a starter, hence you dont see him anywhere near the league this year.

  • lol who cares, leafs got the win

  • Wow, beside the Islander's net. Fail Toskala!

  • Hey 11 year goalie, I was paid to play the position so I too have an idea as what's involved in playing goal in Hockey. Positioning be dammed, the dude sucks, period, he will play his way out of a job and eventually the League. It's a tough job no doubt, but even you have to admit Toskala is over-rated and at best should sit second and back-up a real or qualified number one.

  • Oh you fucking leafs fans stfu you guys have a horrible team, you started last year this way too and then you guys sucked like always, after this year its gonna get 10 years no playoffs

  • @hockeymick3 u mad?

  • @Mrleafsfan93 nope i just hate the leafs like every other non leaf fan in the nhl

  • Number one goalie. Only on the Leafs, of course.

  • 1st in division, 2nd in whole league....

  • @yummystrawberry

Partly due to the fact we have some solid goaltending going on.

    :D

    Go Leafs Go

  • what the fuck do u expect from toronto? a 360 spin deke goal? the most u can really expect from toronto is to lose 10-0.........thats like an amazing game........

  • @SoldierFrontPro9 Love how we still get ripped on despite having the leagues current point leader, leading out division and 2nd in the conference an 4th in the league.

  • lucky bounce

  • Is anyone really surprised??

  • That isn't that easy a shot to stop; it took 7 bounces and then did take a bad turn on the way in.

  • Puck is not a ball, it bounces all over the place. The puck takes a higher jump that went over his glove. How should you be able to predict that? Pls shut up if you don't know anything about goaltending... PS. Been a hockey goalie for 11 years.

  • @Puskaryssa well what he shouldve done is put his paddle down and got his whole body behind it

  • @Puskaryssa it's like what kids get taught in little league baseball, when you have a fast erratic moving ball you charge it or come out to it. i think the goalie should have done that. but maybe the ice was bad, so hey. who cares.

  • @Puskaryssa It's called horrid positioning.

  • @Puskaryssa: true, but I disagree with you on one point. I don't tend goal in hockey (centre position for me), but I do in soccer and believe me, the ball can do weird things too.

  • @Puskaryssa i said this on another video too. he could have just put his body in front of the puck instead of trying to glove it. as a goalie, HE should've known that pucks bounce like a motherfucker.

  • @Puskaryssa if you have been a goalie that long then you should know he played completely wrong and out of position. any long shot is played one knee down, stick on the ice with the glove behind the stick, always stop that puck with ur stick. no need for for a butterfly and glove save there, if hes out far enough he doesnt have to worry about the puck going by him, worst goal ever!

  • @Puskaryssa I've been a hockey goalie for 14 years, and my ass could save that!

  • @Puskaryssa no, your a dumbass. I'm a hockey goalie too. He should have gotten his body infront of it... dumbass

  • @ianj30 Hey bud. I do agree with you but there is a thing called bad bounces. This was one of those. I think it is quite pathetic to call this the worst goal in nhl history because this was obviously made by an 18 year old kid who has never heard of Ray Bourque's goal from his own zone.

  • @Puskaryssa If your a goalie then you know that you put your body infront of the puck just not the leg and glove.

  • @Puskaryssa Look, the fact is that you don't block it solely with your glove when there's no pressure. You use your body.

  • @Puskaryssa U MUST PLACE URSELF ON THE FRONT OF THE PUCK... Coach for 5 year in minor hockey...

  • the funny part about this isn't that toskalla let it in

but if he had stopped that shot he would have gotten a shutout XD

  • Toskala was injured on the play

  • what happened to his carrer? lmao

  • @HitemupWhoshotya He's in Tampere's Ilves. In Finland

  • Holy Mackanaw!

  • he played for toronto, basically the worst team in the league.... i bet if u listen to his commentary he says " well i think i played a good game"

  • In Toskala's defense that was a screwy ass puck bounce.

  • You must not know anything about hockey or being a goalie for that matter because if you did then even you would call it a bad bounce. It was a horrible bounce and bad luck. I'm sure you would've let that in too if you got strapped up in goal gear.

  • I like this video cause there's no finnish kids shouting SWEDEN BE GAY, FINLAND RULES, I BE FROM THERE and LOOK MIKAEL GRANDLUND ILMAVEIVI, IT IS MUKH BETTER THEN THIS.

I also like that whenever there's a video about huge goalie mistake, Toskala is mentioned

  • Let's Go Isles! we get em any way we can

  • San Jose knew what they were doing when they let this guy go.

  • @zzDzCzCzz Yeah but not before he had that BRILLIANT highlight play which led to the goal by Samsonov in the 06 playoffs.

  • Toskala U PHAIL!

  • GinXYZ ftw

  • It was a bad bounce not the WORST GOAL OF NHL HISTORY I bet you don't even watch hockey

  • @NoGutsNoGloryLEAFS Says the leafs fan. A little biased are we?

  • brodeurs was way worse. brodeur didnt get any bad bounces like this one.

  • This happens to everyone.

  • Well he scored in the SEL so whatever LOL

  • it wasnt his fault but it would be so humiliated

  • @kas1236 Um, yeah...it was his fault. You don't go down into the butterfly to stop a bouncing puck. You stay square to the puck, get in front of it and stick it away. It's because of plays like this that he's a current free agent without a contract.

  • @GinXYZ ah yeah... okay cause i dont know anything about goalie. lol. this is retard.

  • @kas1236 If you think it wasn't his fault...yeah, you ARE retarded.

  • @GinXYZ lol, i thought it wasnt his fault because the puck bounce i'm very retarded

  • @GinXYZ are you dumb? the puck was bouncing left and right, he tried to take up us much of the net as possbile and if he weere to be standing thats exactly where his body was. there goes your theory and you can clearly see the pcuk bounce to his left.

  • @rsacc4sale1 Are YOU dumb or something? He went into the butterfly, trying to gather into his chest and it skipped to his left, right over his pad. By going down into the butterfly he took away his lateral movement. If he has simply stayed square to the puck and followed it's movement, he could have easily stopped it. You obviously know nothing about positioning.

  • @GinXYZ .... im a AAA starter of the best team of my age.... nuff said.

  • @rsacc4sale1 Oh really? And just which AAA league do you play in? Which team? Show us, big shot. Let's see exactly who you play for. LOL...yeah, right. And I'm a goaltender for one of the top AHL teams. The fact that you'd call Brodeur a lousy goaltender just shows you know jack about goaltending. I also notice you don't refute any of the points I bring up about Toskala's play or Brodeur's accomplishments. So, come on, big time AAA goalie...let's see your stats...or are you just gonna cop out?

  • and i only thought this only happens in video games cause i remember i scored a goal like this in my NHL 2k2 game i was the Blackhawks and i scored a goal just like this on The Canucks Reberto Luongo.

  • fallout3wanderer i agree

  • poor toskala

  • there is so many goals like that because of bad bounes

  • every goalie makes mistakes! deal with it!!! finnish goalies rule!

  • I think if toskala was a baseball player he'd have soo many errors :D

  • @gonyrangers i don't think a ball bounces like a puck...

  • TROLL TROLL TROLL HOCKEY SUCKS TROLL TROLL TROLL

  • Edua?

  • HAHA THIS IS NOTHING COMPARING TO PATRIK STEFAN MISSING THE DAM NET

  • He's drunked!!!

  • @max000ist Your drunked or ummmmmmmmm youu were drunked

  • LOL

  • Haters gonna hate. You try saving something like this. That bounce would have gotten you 99 times out of 100.

  • i cant belive it my favorite team (im from sweden) in sweden AIK thats the name of the clubb but back to the point my favorite team in sweden whant toskala i juts say no fucking whey

  • No GOOD!

  • Voi vittu minkä vedon päästit taakse, Vesa! :D

  • okay, i can see where it was a bad bounce but c'mon, its a shot from the other end of the rink. he had plenty of time to follow that puck right into his glove. seriously, I' ve only ever seen like 5 goals like this. EVERY goalie should be able to stop this.

  • Has nothing to do with the team he plays for.

  • What do you expect, he plays for the Toronto Maple Loafs!

  • @offthelinegt and i dont suppose you just magically happen to be cheering for the Blackhawks suddenly?

  • lol,

vesa, im sorry but your gonna be on every highlight, film, and show for the next month.

jeeze joe why didn't you just say sports net connected for gods sake.

  • well...its toronto nuff said

  • Every one of you fucking dickheads who rips on a goalie because he lets in one unlucky goal can go suck a dudes dick! I'll bet even you fuck tards couldn't stop that. I f he let those in reapeaditely he'd be in the AHL in a heart beat. He's an awsome goalie who is a thousand times better than all of you even me.

  • Leafs blow wow nice goal leafs suck

  • @skater0313 haha!

  • GO LEAFS GO!! AWESOME!

  • Everyone should leave him

im not a absolute NHL film but that was unlucky

hes not a bad keeper otherwise he wouldnt be in the highest level of hockey.

Every goalie has let in a bad goal in there life so people shouldnt rip into him

  • @08chazman08 i agree..... dont be so hard on that i don`t see you in the nhl!!

  • @08chazman08 i love listening to people say someone in a professional sport is terrible! if he is so terrible why isn't the person complaining playing that professional sport? am i right?

  • @08chazman08 its good to know that you're not an absolute NHL film. I'm still wondering if you're a paperclip or coal shovel though so you may want to clear that up.

  • Im glad he got traded. hes sucha dick face and he sucks.

  • wow. major embarrasment

  • if i would be him i shoot my self

  • how did the leafs get giguere for this guy??

  • cause they also gave away Jason Blake.

  • @patio12345 Salary dump.

  • GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!!

  • what did you expet, its toronto

  • I can tell ya that I dont think there's that many goalies that would have actually saved that puck. Changed the direction at the very last moment...

  • thats not the worst goal its amazing but its friggen lucky and i feal sorry for the goalie!!! GO CANUCKS!!!

  • every goalie lets up one of those during a season

  • look the other video where Vesa Toskala saves pretty fucking good

  • @z0diacx, Standing up with paddle on the ice? Lol, if you did that you would be totally off balance leaning to your blocker side without any hope of reacting to a change of direction bounce like this one. I'd like to see a goalie do that. I would laugh my ass off at the utter nonsense of this particular move. You've just revolutionized the way we look at mediocre goaltending.

  • @z0diacx

Funny how you say he is a retard since you don´t know shit about hockey! :D

Puck pounces to the right just before it comes to Toskala. If he would have been up it would have been 100% goal :DD

  • @z0diacx Lmao you're retarded you do realize the two best goalies in NHL history are the ones who introduced and revolutionized the butterfly style? (Roy and Brodeur) You're a fucking moron.

  • @BobReefer Brodeur a butterfly style? are you the dumbest person ever hes a standup he never uses the butter fly. brodeur is one of the worst goalies btw. 1 he averages about 15-19 shors a game with the nj defence and still manages to let in 3 a game. nj would be cup contendors every year without him.

  • @rsacc4sale1 First, he's a hybrid stylist and he DOES use the butterfly sometimes. Second, one of the worst goalies? Hmm. 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina trophies, 5 Jennings trophies, lifetime he is 625-350-105-32 (W-L-T-OL), with 116 shutouts, a 2.22 GAA, .913 save%. oh yeah...he really sucks. Three, yeah, he had a bad year this year...and? He's almost 40. He still had 6 SO's and 2.45 GAA. He backstopped NJ to their 3 Cups. Once again, you show you know nothing.

  • @z0diacx shut up i am a goalie and the first thing they teach you is if there is a bouncing puck, go into butterfly

  • @z0diacx Because its Bouncing. Not like your Plastic Balls.

  • @z0diacx man oh man, first of all have you ever played goal? second of all butterfly isnt the most popular goaltending style cause it sucks. It was a bad bounce it happens deal with it.

  • @z0diacx You're supposed to go down to stop a puck on the ground for extra support in case it get's past your stick. He got a horrible bounce as well.

  • @z0diacx cuz its maple leafs ;)

  • @z0diacx Good point about butterfly vs. standing. Just form a wall of meat and pads for the puck to deflect off of. There were no enemy players within a country mile of Toskala so he should have had no worry about someone scoring off a deflection.

  • @z0diacx Are you dumb? the chances are the puck could bounce right or left and you speaking from a person who saw what happened and you looked at it and made changeds, why? because you knew were the puck went. And two. look where his body is... if he stood up the puck would have missed his pads clearly it bounces over to his left. Wasn't the goalies fault that the puck too an awkward course and a series of bounces. learn your facts.

  • @z0diacx i can't agree anymore, I used to be a stand-up goalie and I ROCKED, but then i got an astigmatism (Something with the eye) and nowIi have to go to butterfly and i've never been the same.

  • @z0diacx Pucks have edges, which means they don't strictly bounce up and down. While you're probably right about the fact that he should've stayed on his feet, you might be overanalyzing the situation, especially taking it out on butterfly goalies (myself included, thanks for the 'idiot' label btw) I think unless you've ever been a hockey goalie, you don't understand how tricky a good bouncing puck can be sometimes

  • @z0diacx Wow you clearly know absolutely nothing about goaltending. Goaltenders have begun to play more butterfly in response to the increased speed of the game and its players. We're talking about professional athletes here; if they are changing the way they play then they have a damn good reason for it. So just keep you mouth shut about things you clearly don't understand. And as to this particular scenario, cut the guy a break. Yeah, it was a greasy goal, but everyone makes mistakes. Move on.

  • @z0diacx Fail It's your video and your flagged for too many negative votes '~'

  • jumping puck are really hard to save.

  • Okay guys this is one goal. After they NYI scored this Toskala played spectacularly. So does it really matter ? 1 goal they still won the game ...

  • Comment removed

  • 2nd most cups in the nhl....how many of those were after expansion?

  • ouch

  • GO CANUCKS

  • canucks rule!

  • @Rydencrox747 they do :)

  • HAAHAHA GOLF LEAFS GOLF

  • lolwut, u talking to me cause i have no idea what u are talking about

  • oooops toskala didnt handle bounce correctly i would have handled it better

  • ohhhhhh really unlucky bounce

  • good times good times

  • thts happened to me in a floor hockey game against the barrie colts :(
