  • Ok, so I found your video after I awoke from a dream of me buying a P1800 and stuffing a SBC in her. (not a Ford guy)

I love it. What else did you have to do?

  • How Ironic. Most of fords models today have Volvo Engines. But need less to say, this is bad ass. I mean my family has owned a total of 10 volvos. One of them, the classic P1800. Volvo for life!

  • 1962 volvo p1800 + 302 V8 = BADASS. 'Nuff said. ;-).

  • is that fuel injected or cabrueted?

  • Sweet! My 73 1800ES is sweet by virtue of its' IPD fuel management system, and suspension, but I believe your car has the power to weight ratio it should have always had with the 302. I would like to shoehorn a Cleveland in one of these cars. Thanks for sharing.

  • FORD POWER ! I had a 73 vega with a 302 ford , c4 a/t . hurt some chevy guys feelings .

  • ford power

  • To bad volvo didn´t put a v8 in the p1800.

  • shame you ruined a nice classic.......

  • @DamnStraightM35A2 You did know that volvo was contacting ford about putting 302 motors and t5 transmissions in the cars. They didn't (for what reason I forget exactly) because it would be a ford mustang killer or they ran out time... I forget... but that's what the car should be like

  • the car is for looks, not for speed....although it would be nice with both....

  • @DamnStraightM35A2 Really? With the B18 motor, I could agree on the acceleration aspect but other than that I disagree. It's lighter than a BMW 325 e30 series, 4 piston brakes and fuel injection(that was a feature in the early 70's). Evert Autocross one of those cars? They're in the SAME CLASS AS A 911!!! unless you know something I don't, I can't see them as not being for going fast.

  • ass hole...i was talking about straight line fast, and my uncles '69 1800 is stock (he's had it since '70) other than a B20 engine. I don't drive it to beat the shit out of it, and the speedo doesn't work anymore so I can't see how fast i'm really going.

  • dude. I wasn't trying to be a dick. Just wanted to chat about a nice car! and with what you said. I agree, Straight line is like... waiting for water to boil.

  • @DamnStraightM35A2

So your commenting on a car that isn't even yours and doesn't work properly but he's the asshole?

It's so easy to call people names from behind a screen....it's so tiring.

And you've actually got someone apologizing for being a dick who wasn't!

    Why bother?

  • The car works fine....the speedometer doesn't. Everything else works. Jack ass.

  • @DamnStraightM35A2

Dude you're too easy. Someone hangs somethin' out for ya, you just gotta bight and have the last word don't ya?

Don't worry, Darwin will take care of you ;)

  • So if Darwin will take care of me, then why must you keep replying? seems like you need to have the last word. I make a comment pertaining to the video, and then you say something to me about how I should comment. I can comment any way I like and if it offends people like you then tough.

And, (of course you wouldn't know), but I used to own 2 1800's and a 122. What old Volvo's do/did you own? Since you seem to think I just fell of the truck yesterday....and haven't owned a volvo.

  • it's a wonderful sound

  • is it youst me or is the fanbelt slippin'?

  • Nice ride, I currently have a 67 p1800. I removed the bottom and built an entire 2x3 square tube chasis with a 16 point 1 5/8" cage. Narrowed 9" with a fully adjustable 4link in the rear and fully adjustable dbl A-arm front suspension with adjustable ride hight and coil over shocks. I have a 575 hp bb chevy with a fogger system that will put it at about 800 hp. Tubbed rear sports 18.5"x29" mickeys and 4" fronts. I'll try to get some drag videos posted for you !!!! keep up the good work

  • LOL...I didn't know you stuffed a Cobra V8 in there. Thats awesome. I'm surprised that chassis can handle the power.

  • it handles it quite nicely - the suspension was dropped 2 inches. it has a c4 trans and a 9 inch ford rear end. I have to work on the brakes though.... non power - put both feet into it - kind of brakes if you know what I mean...

  • other then mounts how much did you have to chop to make it and the trans fit?
