What if a burning conviction contradicts God`s word, which one is correct? I would have to conclude that my burning conviction is more acurate based on God`s test for false prophets, Duet.18:20,21, Matt 7:15-20. Joe and Brigham fail God`s tests for prophets. Do you really believe that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ? How could Smith have seen God in 1820 when he said in Doctrine and Covenant 84:21-22 that without the Priesthood, no man can see God?

2 Nephi 5:15-17 talks about construction like Solomon's temple, but 1 Kings 5:13-18 talks about using thousands of men and several yrs. to construct it.

How do I know the Book of Mormon is true? Because I prayed and God told me it was true. How do I know this spiritual manifestation is true? because the church is true. How do I know the church is true? because the Book of Mormon is true. It's as simple as that.

2 Nephi 5:15-17 talks about construction like Solomon's temple, but 1 Kings 5:13-18 talks about using thousands of men and several yrs. to construct it.

Typically, I would not have a problem with edits as long as doctrine is not affected, but Joesph Smith claimed that the BoM was translated by the power of God, so EVERY aspect of the BoM, even the grammar, should be perfect.

1 Nephi 4:9-"...and I saw that the blade thereof was of the most precious steel". Jews didn't have steel between 600-592 B.C.
1 Nephi 17:5 describes Arabia, but it was never bountiful of fruit or honey.
1 Nephi 18:25 mentions several animals, written around 589 B.C., but no such animals existed there until Europeans brought them to "New World" several hundred yrs. later.
2 Nephi 2:23-25 contradicts Gen. 3:16-19.

Ok...I have a BOM in front of me with some notes I took, and I'll provide a few examples of some problems...2 Nephi 2:5-6 basically states that redemption is through the Messiah, but the LDS teaches that you are "saved by grace after all we can do"...redemption through Christ, or works? 2 Nephi 3:11-16 is supposed to be a prophecy about Joseph Smith. But Lehi's descendants were wiped out according to Mormon 6:11, 8:2-3. Alma 7:10, Jesus born in Jerusalem, but Matthew 2:1, Born in Bethlehem.

Good questions. Here are some thoughts:
2 Nephi 2 Salvation through Christ is right. Faith requires an action. Agreed, the phrase "saved by grace after all we can do" is a bit misleading.
I can see how 2Ne3 may be confusing. He was quoting a prophecy of Joseph of Egypt.
It says "at" Jerusalem, so the Heb/Egyptn doesn't translate as well as we would like. I say I was born in the larger city nearby the city I was actually born in too to geographically orient people unfamiliar w/ a place.

Showing that Hyde was wrong doesn't mean Smith and Young were false any more than proving Judas betrayed Christ disproves the divinity of the savior. Not trying to make you look stupid.

I can only speak from my own experience.
It may be worthwhile to review the words from Moroni 10:3-5. 3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

How do I know the Book of Mormon is true? Because I prayed and God told me it was true. How do I know this spiritual manifestation is true? because the church is true. How do I know the church is true? because the Book of Mormon is true. It's as simple as that.

Actually, the real reason is, pretty much, that you're a control freak. You remove anything you don't like, or block anyone who disagrees with you. You don't really want debate... this simply gives you a feeling of empowerment.

Really? Then why do you tell people that "I'm not really trying to make you look stupid" and many other similar hateful comments. You're really a big hypocrite who actually chases people away from your church with the strident attitude you take. Which means that you manage to cancel out all the effort you make towards "bringing people to christ." (and how your wife stands your attitude is beyond amazing.)

The question is, if you "KNOW" you have the truth, then what do you have to fear from what you call "anti-mormon" sites?
Oh, I know how you feel about those sites... I felt the same way when was still caught up in mormonism. But regardless of how you feel, the reality is that you shouldn't have any need to remove it IF you really have the truth,
The truth stands on it's own, but instead you have given your church many crutches.

You also have read the apologist response, and it clearly says, that there were other nations and cultures beside the nephites and lamanites before Lehi, Ishmael and their families arrived. The BoM also tells about them and that they mixed with the nephites and lamanites.

I only have to explain to those, that have no faith and go around searching for so called mistakes. There are critics for the bible also in a mass, and although the bible is true. I know, that Jesus Christ lives and speaks to us today. That is enough to know.

ok i will first when the book of mormon talks about tithing it satates the for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins(part of mormon 8:38) and the bible states to not give grudgingly or of necessity; for god loveth a cheerful giver(part of 2 Corinthians 9:7) so no where does it state in the bible that if you give money to the church (tithing) you will be forgiven of your sins therefore that is a contradiction to the bible

And it says, that we are cursed, if we dont pay the tith. And the opposite of being cursed is being blessed. To forgive sins is a blessing, that god gives us for our faith. If you have faith in god, you pay the tith. It shows, that you have faith.

Yes, we see this in some churches of today and history, but we dont give our tith to be forgiven, but to show our faith, as i wrote.
The verses in Mormon 8 describe the false religion at all. Read all, its not about the mormon church, but about the right use of our wealth.

ok another example repentance the BOM states that if you procrastinate the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected ti the spirit of the devil(Alma 34:34 & 35 i only took this small part) but the bible states nothinng like that it states i said, therfore, unto you, that ye shall die in your sins; for if ye believe not that i am, ye shall die in your sins( john 8:24)

Millions have done, what the Book of mormon suggests: To pray and ask god in the name of Jesus Christ, wether its true or not. And they have got an answer. Luke 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
God answers prayers, and I also get answers to all my questions.
I also know, that the bible is true, because I have asked god, not because of science. Jesus is our saviour!

Oh, and so because that's one of the "lost tribes" you can't check for DNA, huh? Nice try. Except that as one of the 12 Tribes of Israel, the genetic material of Manassah would likely be identical. However, the native Americans are genetically related to the Mongols of Asia, and not one of the 12 Tribes.
