I spent over an hour watching and enjoying some of videos. what really amazes me is that at least one big Rush fun is able to play the drums as it shoud be...I cant speck for others, but my secret dreams are two: to play football as Pelé and to play drums as Neil...all the best to you and your family Astro!!!
Well Astro what can I say, a beautiful job, full of energy and strength, very well synchronized, what really amazes me is your commitment to your performance, at 4:13 when your glasses are about to fall you took action and put them back without loosing track of the song, as far as I remember the same thing happened to Neil's headphones while shooting the video for Afterimage, I mean, this song makes you rock ! Congratulations once again !

@Astrotama It's a boring chilly Saturday morning....by the looks outside it will soon snow or just a few flurries.... I came across your vid and feel totally inspired and happy. Really good job dude!! I can't see you up close in the vid but you remind me of my bro who is a big Rush fan, wears glasses too and growing up together he was always practicing his drums...lol. Great Job, rock on....Rush rules!
good job. i love the way you tilt your head when you hit the crash. i call that the peart jerk. i did it too when i use to play rush on the drums. it's funny how so many of the vids i see, people do the same peart jerk. lol! again...good job!~
WELL, WHAT CAN I SAY, I'M AMAZED ONCE AGAIN! Perfect, just perfect, I think that you add the best ingredient there is for your performances in order to play Rush, EMOTION! And a lo of it !
UNBELEIVABLY EXELLENT!!! MY favorite percuccion peice by Neil. never beleived any other human could pull that off.You did it splendedly. GREAT EXECUTION!!!
I saw this video on the chronicles DVD the other day and its amazing how intense it is to watch this song be played (even though its just a MTV video) rather than just listen to the CD. This is obviously the case with most Rush songs and thats probably why they don't get much air time. Pratt also shows such emotion in this video and I just wish he would do that at the concerts these days. Anyway good to watch you play it too Astra! I hope I do not get in trouble at work but Im addicted to drums.
Yes, this song is quite special in Rush catalog. It was written about Robbie Whelan, a close friend of the band and of Neil in particular, who died in a motorcycle accident. You can feel Neil's anger and emotion in this song, all the way through it.
Awesome Job. Real nice set. One of my favorite songs of those years. Real good accurate job. Like the sound of the drums. well matched to the sound of the original. Good mix with the vocals too
I commented before on your Limelight video and if I didn't say it then I am saying it now: You are the best Rush drummer on youtube. (well...besides Neil hehe) It's not just the almost total accuracy but the feel, your whole vibe, everything. You've got it in every aspect.
I read in Roadshow that Neil wrote this song about an engineer at Le Studio, Robbie Whelan, who died on the way to work one day in 1983. And as usual, you played this song flawlessly. What I like about your playing is you play the songs accurately, which not many YouTube drummers can boast about.
Ok, a piece of this, a piece of that... ;) Pedals: 2 double Iron Cobra Power Glide; about a ton of Tama Titan, Roadpro and clamps; some Yamaha and Pearl stands, Aquarian spring cymbals, Yamaha Peter Erskine stickbag, Gibraltar remote hi-hat mount (I should replace it, I don't like it), custom made cowbell mount, Promark 747 Oak with nylon tips, GK headphones, ... and lots of other stuff!
good some to do as a tribute man. deffinetly played with emotion and thats how music shuld be played. weithers its for fun or sadness the emotion just makes it all the better..good pay keep them comming. and i would like to see Vapor Trail
Amazing thing that you did with your drums, mate! Are you trying to become a new Neil Peart? I love this song very much! Great job. Could you bring to us some Dream Theater song? I'm Mike Portnoy´s fan as well...
That is amazing!!! I'm speechless! Very, very well done, sir!
