The only thing that I could see that would be more helpful is if the repair was done while still in the car. Most people who need this info do not have the ability to just take the engine out. Seeing how an experienced mechanic deals with all of the little problems involved with doing the repair this way would make these videos oscar worthy. Still waiting on that next video.
P.S. Don't let the negative posts get you down.........HATERS.
Fantastic. Been Looking for instructions on this repair. I'm pretty handy w/engines not having any real training. Just being able to watch somebody do this and seeing the way the pieces come apart and the order in which it is done is extremely helpful.
@ptpaintballer43 Already shot, just have to edit. I am going to try my hardest to finish it this week! I have been behind moving into our storefront and re-developing our website!
This kid is a joke he is 180 away from TDC, DO NOT follow this video unless your engine is fully out of the bay. I wouldn't recommend buying any DVDs or products from these goofs thats for sure...
@EYEREIVEPRODUCTIONS Uhm what? 180 off? Get real. Look at the 2nd video idiot. You can see #1 cylinder is up. Don't post stupid shit if you don't know what your talking about.
@EYEREIVEPRODUCTIONS Oh, and EVEN IF I WAS 180 OFF, guess what? It'd still be fine going back together if you followed my directions. I can see your good at life.
Also, I won't EVER sell any of my videos, because I do it for the community. NOT to make money.
@EYEREIVEPRODUCTIONS feel free to go into depth than, Sir Specialist. You can see in part #2 that cylinder number 1 and 4 are at top. If I was 180 off, 2 and 3 would be up.
ive had a rebuild for my s13 for about a year now , come to find out they didnt replace the head studs and now i have water into my system , I went out and desided to do all the work myself , I got ARP studs and a Cometic Head Gasket ,and valve cover gasket , ive done some research and they are suppose to be some of the most reliable brands, With this videos help is there anything else i would need sence the motor has been already rebuilt in the past.
Does it matter which engine year I should do my KA-T I got a 93 in my car right now and plan a rebuild instead of doing an SR but is there any advantages on the 95-98 KA24s?
i have a blown head gasket on my s13, how long do you think it will take me to remove the engine and rebuild the head with new gaskets, bearings, etc.? p.s. i have no experience with removing engines or rebuilding them, haha
@chchampi Do you plan on removing the head while it is still in the engine compartment or removing the engine completely? When I did mine i the past I always left the engine in the car. It took me 2 hours after doing it a couple times. I would say around 4 hours for someone who's first time it is. Anyone on here can ALWAYS contact me for help along the way!
@initialdfreak Why do you have the engine out to begin with? If it won't budge you may have some internal problems. Did you blow the engine by any chance? i.e. broken rod or something?
@S13xCrazy I'm replacing the headgasket, clutch, resurfacing the flywheel etc.. before i go ka-t. The motor was running before i pulled it which is what's confusing me in this situation.
@initialdfreak That is a bit on the confusing side. I guess if you cannot turn it, you can always pull everything apart at the spot it is at. Just make sure you mark the crank pulley and all your timing very well, along with remembering what way your cams are facing. Then reassemble the engine off of those marks after you find out what is wrong!
