  • Anyone else see the fly on the window

  • That guy waiting on the right, isn't he on the line that runs north to Ponca City? I think if this video continues you eventually cross his path right?

  • ZOMG!!!! All I want to do in life is work on the railroad! Hail, sleet, ice, snow, rain, wind, sun, I don't care, I'm a natural bred railroader, it is in my DNA. My family has a history in the railroad, my great great great grandfather helped to build the MKT rail lines in Texas. It is in me, and it is crying out! But unfortunately, it seems I cannot find any means of getting a job with the railroad now :(

  • I live in Perry and here trains constantly. It's nice to see what it looks like from the cab.

  • It is colder than hell there....Lived there for 20 some yrs....now in Phoenix...the hottest place on earth! lol

  • Nice.

    Thanks.

Don't have horn sounding AFTER the crossing.

    Start a littlearlier.

Someone clean the fly off the windshield.

  • @robertgift Robert, you have to sound the horn after the crossing or there is a fine! The engineer is doing just fine.

  • sparky, Why would you have to sound the horn AFTER the crossing?

His timing is off - late. Or is it YouTube audio which is late?

No, you are to sound up to and including the crossing.

    No need to blast beyond.

But if you are going to be off, be EARLY and give the public earlier warning.

Ideally they want crossing sequence started 18 seconds before crossing.

(18 seconds is too long.) (There should be no horn at crossings with gates.)

  • @lokalexi1 Well being an engineer for the bnsf I am telling you that you have to blow all the way through the crossing and no more than 18 seconds. it doesn't really matter if you blew the whitsle from start to finish in one continous blast the public would still run the gates.

  • Very nice video

    thanks

  • I always wondered what it looked like from the engine ... thanks for posting ... I've been to the Perry train station more than one once as a child and remembered seeing the freight trains passing on the outside line. LOL ... Yes, I also I remember when the passenger trains stopped in Perry.

  • My surname is AVARD, I have been trying to see AVARD in Oklahoma for ages live, have you got anymore vids of AVARD?

  • It said something about the AVARD Sub, my surname is Avard.

  • I'll get a you a vid of Avard in the next month or so. I go through there, but not as often.

Think wheat fields, a couple of grain elevators, low mesas in the distance, and a pretty busy freight railroad.

  • "Come on down to the big iron." Calling signals...good boy.

  • Nice video.. Sure does look cold out there. Hope you guys' heater in the cab was workin!

    ~Nick
