And that's Sharon Redd's famous REDD dress! (On one of her album liner notes, she indicates that she would borrow her clothes from Sharon... Well, they shared the same record label, why not share drags?)
well chaka can belt those high 5th octave notes that still would be very noticible over ettas vocals. but im not takin away from etta cuz i to believe that she has the most powerfull voice ever.
Wow, haven't seen this video probably since 1985 when this tracked was released. This should've been a bigger hit for Taka Boom, but none the less, it's a very nice dance track.
This is what I call goo music, still good after all these good!! love taka's voice, the song is what truly defined 80s disco, real instruments and great vocal. Where have the real artist gone??
Great song too bad they don't make them like this these days!!
taka your the best baby..... tommy your neighbour (raineys boyfriend). Love you sweetie. say hello to tom, and tell him to rev that Harley and make his p mache.
I've always been a fan of Taka's. She had an album on Ariola label back in "7 9". And a video with her dance hit "Red Hot". I've always supported her because she sounds similiar to her big sister Chaka. However, she sounds even more like, my second favorite female singer next to Chaka, Mica Paris. Mica is a British soul singer. She came out in the "80's". Taka and Mica sound very similiar. Also, don't forget that Taka was with "70's" group Undisputed Truth.
@earthegyptian Taka was in the Truth well after they had their big hits though...the original Undisputed Truth was comprise of Joe Harris (a childhood friend of Mary Wilson) and the former members of a group called the Delicates, Billie Rae Calvin and Brenda Joyce. The original group recorded 6 albums while at Motown. Taka joined after Norman Whitfield formed his own recorded label, and the female members departed, leaving Joe alone...He was joined by Taka and a few others to form a new UT...
Wow...Never hear this before. I couldn't remember what her voice sound like. She's awesome. I actually like her voice better than her (well, I better not say) (smile)
A great record from the 80's..takes me back to my DJ days...The 80's was a tremendous time for dance music.....and me!!!!!!

When it comes to brute vocal power, Chaka Khan will blow anybody off the map except Etta James.
