Wonderful chant any day. I greatly appreciate this psalm and well done choir for a scintillating rendition. Thanks for uploading, Sheebp. Kindly upload Psalm 147 and 148 by Cambridge Choir if you have them. They are awesome for our worship of the Lord of Hosts. Thank you.
It is a sad reality that some people, who are imbued in the study of the sciences, only see things in terms of mathematical equations, and fail to understand that music is the shorthand of emotion - the vernacular of the human soul.
@tensorbundle Thanks for your contribution, but in an effort to avoid suggesting your complete ignorance of the chorister tradition, I'll instead say that being a chorister was the best thing I've ever done.
@tensorbundle Seriously? I'm a Choral Scholar at Oxford University and a part-time Cathedral Lay Clerk - these children have wholesome school lives. they practice music in the morning before school, and then have a full school day (with normal breaks etc), with evensong afterwards. They are encouraged to have fun and play sports and such like (as they should). Being a chorister is something that is very beneficial to these children, as it encourages discipline and teaches skills for later life.
@tensorbundle You're displaying ignorance in every sense of that word. I don't know one chorister or ex-chorister who hasn't had a great time being a chorister. As to these kid in particular as the musical benefits they get a top-class education. But have it your way and don't let inconvenient things like facts get in the way of your particular brand of bigotry.
