I believe people often overlook the role that the Air Force plays on the ground; yes their primary mission in Iraq/ Afghanistan is ground support and interdiction by aircraft such as the A-10, F-15E, B-52, B-1, AC-130, etc, there are still ground troops as well such as Air Force Security Forces. But nevertheless,go U.S. Military and I hope our Airman, Seaman, Marines, and Soldiers come home safe

@Thereisnodaddy We aren't there anymore. We left Iraq in August of this year. We are just training their police and military to take our previous role there. It isn't gonna work because the whole system is compromised.

Pakistan is a corrupt country. You will find that they are "fighting" terrorism but they aren't really. Not as well as we would at least.

Protecting your fellow soldiers become a big reason for rejoining the miltary for most veterans. Also you can get into better stuff with a college degree. You can get into special forces and all. I want to join to serve the people and country. I don't want to join for thrills or benefits.
@Thereisnodaddy Army, I love the Army. I was in Civil Air Patrol which is an Air Force auxillary, but I am more suited to land. From Army I would like to go into Special Forces or Rangers. From there I would just love to go into 1st SFOD-D. It would be very hard and very unlikely to happen. Even to get into Green Berets. It would be a dream come true to be in SFOD-D and being one of the best soldiers in the world. You do need a college degree so that is also why I want to join after college.

@Thereisnodaddy Yeah, SFOD-D is Tier 1. I wouldn't mind being a Navy SEAL then going into DEVGRU or SEAL Team Six which is also Tier 1. It will be easie in the Army because you start of with basic training which is still hard then go up by steps unlike the Navy. All this is very hard to do and most likely I won't make it at all even to Rangers. Well, maybe Rangers. I'm not that old either haha! I'm still a junior in high school. CAP is more for teens 12-18 years old rather than adults.

@Angelusmortis33 JROTC is just a class in high school. CAP is an auxillary of the Air Force. We perform search and rescue that the air force has no time to do. We even get military discounts. JROTC is nothing. Just a bunch of unprofessional slobs. I got put in JROTC on my first day of high school and I couldn't downgrade myself that low and I got out. They wear sloppy uniforms. They wear chloroformed shoes. CAP is far more professional than ROTC. I saw this JROTC kid with long ass hair. WTF?

I believe people often overlook the role that the Air Force plays on the ground; yes their primary mission in Iraq/ Afghanistan is ground support and interdiction by aircraft such as the A-10, F-15E, B-52, B-1, AC-130, etc, there are still ground troops as well such as Air Force Security Forces. But nevertheless,go U.S. Military and I hope our Airman, Seaman, Marines, and Soldiers come home safe

We never should've gone to Iraq. Our focus should've been more on Afghanistan and ending the Tailban. Being in two places at once doesn't help our chances of doing that...

@Thereisnodaddy Sadaam believed in Jihad. He had the materials necessary to build a Chemical WMD and he could have given it to the Mujahideen. Lucky we stopped him just in time. He was a dictator and we do get oil so it wasn't all that bad.

@Thereisnodaddy We aren't there anymore. We left Iraq in August of this year. We are just training their police and military to take our previous role there. It isn't gonna work because the whole system is compromised.

@Thereisnodaddy We need to be in there. I don't think Osama is in there. I think we need to be in Pakistan with a larger force. Special Forces are already in Pakistan but we need normal troops. Pakistan is a corrupt country. You will find that they are "fighting" terrorism but they aren't really. Not as well as we would at least.

@amitnayna01 "Fighting" isn't quite the same as fighting. I think the US is trying too hard to police the world of its problems...I mean, its a noble thing to do, but the number of resources and troops needed are exceptionally high. We could be stuck there for least another 10-15 years.

@Thereisnodaddy We really do try to help the world out. It is very difficult too. The money is a problem. Fighting is difficult. Look at Somalia, we got a beating. That is why we aren't doing anything in Africa. There is nothing to fight for. At least there was oil in Iraq. There is nothing in Africa. The thought is nice. I love America. I love that we do try to help, but it isn't working. I thank Europe too. I thank India for stepping up in Africa. I thank the other countries who contribute.

@amitnayna01 So do I. We can't do everything on our own. Thats why I'm gonna enlist after college. I'll fight, but not for America. The American Dream has become a little convoluted to me...you know? Sure, you can get some nice stuff, but who pays for it later? Its kind of a win-lose scenario.

@Thereisnodaddy I want to join the military after college. You know so I have something here after the service. I would do it for America, but later it would be for men right next to you. Protecting your fellow soldiers become a big reason for rejoining the miltary for most veterans. Also you can get into better stuff with a college degree. You can get into special forces and all. I want to join to serve the people and country. I don't want to join for thrills or benefits.

@Thereisnodaddy Army, I love the Army. I was in Civil Air Patrol which is an Air Force auxillary, but I am more suited to land. From Army I would like to go into Special Forces or Rangers. From there I would just love to go into 1st SFOD-D. It would be very hard and very unlikely to happen. Even to get into Green Berets. It would be a dream come true to be in SFOD-D and being one of the best soldiers in the world. You do need a college degree so that is also why I want to join after college.

@amitnayna01 Army sounds good, but I think I'd rather be a Marine. Just personal perference. So, SFOD is a big deal, huh? Well, as with anything, if you work hard enough, anything can happen. And you did service before in Civil Air Patrol? Haha, something tells me you might be older than me.

@Thereisnodaddy Yeah, SFOD-D is Tier 1. I wouldn't mind being a Navy SEAL then going into DEVGRU or SEAL Team Six which is also Tier 1. It will be easie in the Army because you start of with basic training which is still hard then go up by steps unlike the Navy. All this is very hard to do and most likely I won't make it at all even to Rangers. Well, maybe Rangers. I'm not that old either haha! I'm still a junior in high school. CAP is more for teens 12-18 years old rather than adults.

@Thereisnodaddy Yeah thanks! Marine Sniper School is hard too. Many Special Forces soldiers go there and fail. I think it is like the second best sniper school in the world. Good luck! That task is also going to be a tough one! Hope you get there! That's going to be cool because you are gonna be one of the most important tools in ground combat. Maybe one day we'll be supporting each other in battle.

@Angelusmortis33 JROTC is just a class in high school. CAP is an auxillary of the Air Force. We perform search and rescue that the air force has no time to do. We even get military discounts. JROTC is nothing. Just a bunch of unprofessional slobs. I got put in JROTC on my first day of high school and I couldn't downgrade myself that low and I got out. They wear sloppy uniforms. They wear chloroformed shoes. CAP is far more professional than ROTC. I saw this JROTC kid with long ass hair. WTF?

@Angelusmortis33 Also you have to do shit in JROTC because you will get an F if you do not. CAP is extracurriclar. You don't have to do it. It's a bunch of kids that actually WANT to do it. They want to shine their shoes. They want to iron their uniform. They want to wear shirt guarders. They want to spend a lot of money for it. There is no penalty if you don't show up in CAP. There is in JROTC. It's called dedication. Something CAP has but JROTC doesn't. We also bombed German U-Boats in WWII.
