  • HOW COULD ANYONE NOT LIKE THIS VIDEO??? Let me clarify this. Don Knotts is one of the greatest people that ever lived, that goes without even being said! So there is only one conclusion. Let me clarify this, those people who disliked this probably don't know good acting and humor if it bit them in the butt!

  • Why are there no Family Guy references in the comments?

  • A real class comedian and great actor!

  • I wanted him to bang the shit out of Emma (I think that's what her name was)The poor man was in dire need of recieving oral sex.

  • It takes a genius to give a speech like that. Pure genius. +1

  • haha this is funny, finally a funny side to social anxiety!I sometimes I give presentations like this when I'm REALLY nervous.

  • When you think about it Don Knotts gives one of the greatest performances in film, what other actor today could have come close to this? He manages to portray cowardice with sympathy and comedic genius in every twitch, hand gesture, facial expression and movement

  • BRAY- VAH- REE!! GAHHHHHHAHAHAA

  • there were trees in the 1960s!? i did not no that.

    Don Knotts Nervous Speech

and one more thing... ATTA BOY LUTHER!

  • Nobody does nervous better than Don Knotts. Simultaneously hysterical and painful to watch.

  • i thought it was great, "that electrician must be a democrat" had me rollin on the floor!!

  • why are there so many ostriches?

  • @akallstar5 The brochure said there'd only be a few ostriches!

  • There's WAY too many ostriches! Why are there so many ostriches?? The brochure said there'd only be a FEW ostriches! This is a terrible vacation!!

  • don knotts is one of the greatest actors im 14 and i love watching his shows like the andy griffith show or his movies from the ghost and mr.chicken which is this movie to the apple dumpling gang im just a sucker for old movies and shows and not to leave out music either :)

  • Notice: The guy who played Mr Whipple as the band director.

  • This is how I sounded when I had to present something in class. Bad memories. :(

  • @leela194 LOL!!!

  • @leela194

haha a girl laughed at me cause I was so nervous :(

  • "now let me clarify this"

hah. these are the types of movies i grew up with.

  • funny guy

  • After all this time my sister and I still quote that last line to each other - "thank you for having"

    Pure gold.

  • Haha! Don Knotts always played a sad sack.

  • His co-star in this movie was a Playboy Centerfold. That a boy Luther!

  • My family and I watch this movie every Halloween and this is one of the funniest parts.

  • The "Attaboy Luther" running gag in this movie (Don Knott's first starring role after he left "The Andy Griffith Show" to do films for Universal) is aboslutely hilarious. I think it was Don's biggest box office hit because the character (the nervous scardy-cat) was his funniest schtick. I recall seeing this movie at a local theater as a kid when it first came out. The line literally ran around the block! THANKS for posting this very funny scene! :)

  • very funny and kind man :) I'm watching three's company right now.....

  • I love the way how he kept trying to pose

  • I will always remember you Mr. Knotts a kind and gentle soul you were, you are a Hero in a sense to me sir RIP sir, thank you for all the memories.

  • Don Notts is a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "There were many heroes in World War II" - Yeah, like the Incredible Mr. Limpet!!

  • I love it when the wind blows ihs notes away. I had the same thing happen to me one time.

  • why are there so many ostriches?

  • miss ya Don, always loved threes a company

  • @osniel20015 Yes Don played the PERFECT Landlord on Threes company UNREPLACEABLE !!! Thanks Don !!

  • Don was great period.

  • What`s in a name?

Luther? That was also the name of supermans arch rival Lex Luther.

  • lol he's brave

  • 'ATTA BOY LUTHER!!!

  • This movie is a stone comedy classic. Knotts did not receive due recognition for his best work, of which "Ghost" is among the best of the best, IMO.

  • He was the best ..You know how hard it must of been to play the fool .. And not be one .. Very big Heart-ed man.. Brilliant Actor We miss you Barn.. Thanks for the clip..

  • good ol' Barn! Definitely in the top of the list of 60's comedies. Could anybody not think the best Andy Griffith episodes were the ones with Don Knotts? We do miss him.

  • don, we miss you!!

  • At least Luther didn't write on his hand.

  • @upajos uh what?

  • Can somebody maybe post this movie? I'd like to see it.

  • THAT HOW i FELT TODAY DURING MY CLASS PRESENTATION

  • @hellgod666 looking back a year….was it that important? :)

  • About the funniest man that ever was in show business!

  • 'ATTA BOY LUTHER

  • let me clarify this !....what were your heroes, who were your heroes....BRILLIANT ACTOR!!!

  • Thank goodness for Movie Trading Company! I have found so many classics, such as this and can let my 14 year old daughter appreciate GOOD MOVIES! In parting... ATTA BOY LUTHER!!!!!

  • ATTA BOY LUTHER!!!

  • ow menn I know exactly how he feels, not knowing what you're saying so nervous are you, just talking and talking :-P

  • MY HERO Don Knotts was the greatest without a doubt.

  • This scene is comedic timing perfection - Don was brilliant. I met him once. A kind, humble man.

  • THAT A BOY LUTHERR

  • his 60's movies were such a part of my generation's consciousness... so many of us can quote every one of these films!

i had the pleasure of meeting this man and being his makeup artist for a few short days back in the nineties.

    a true gentleman.

  • My kind of political speech- short, to the point, and incoherent.

  • I can tell you like doing speeches! Not me, I rather jump off a cliff. When I was younger, I had to do public speaking. It was like a death sentence. For some reason, I just don't like people staring at me. It's makes me nervous! LOL

  • i love this guy

  • If he was still alive, I'd vote him into the White House without batting an eye.

  • LOL when he takes the paper out of pocket it looks like he's going to rip it from shaking so much LMAO!!

  • LOL he looks like Jun Lozada! hahaha!

  • This and THE RELUCTANT ASTRONAUT are two of my all-time favorite comedies!

  • What a hilarious scene! Thanks for posting it! No one played nervous better than the late great Don Knotts. Without a doubt, "The Ghost and Mr Chicken" was his best movie. A true American original....though I don't believe those persistent rumors that he had an affair with Ayn Rand & that Steve Buscemi is their love child.

  • That electrician must be a Democrat...

    Atta boy Luther!

  • Yes. We heard it.

  • His nervous hands and his eyes are great. Really, like bassplayer said, who can play nervous and cowardly like this?!!! Brilliant! I don't think there's another actor who could do this role justice. He's a true genius.

  • funny....lol

  • so funny, seriously how many actors play nervous?

  • Let me clarrify this:

    Awesome.

  • LOL AT COMMENT UNDER ME

  • Is Don Knotts imitating Bobby Jindal? Or did Bobby Jindal imitate Don Knotts???

  • He was a great actor

  • I agree. He was amazing!

  • ATTABOY LUTHER

  • i love how the paper rattles when he is unfolding it makes a funny sound

  • R.I.P. Mr. Don Knotts!!!

  • I went to a class for my probation and had to read an entire paper to complete strangers. It was the worst time of my life... I was so fucking nervous it felt like I couldn't breath.

  • ammmazing

  • Whoever has had to give a public speech knows exactly how Don Knotts' character is feeling here. Great, funny moment in the movie.

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

  • ahahaha i did a speech today. i was bad but not shaking like that ahahah

  • That speech sucked. I hope that wasn't real.

  • Of course it was. It is Sarah Palin's 2012 running mate, just an average Joe Six Pack.

  • lol

  • lol

  • Oh god that's exactly how I am at public speaking DX

  • i love don knotts

  • this video is funny as heck

  • heck? no cursing.

  • Oscar worthy.

  • True

  • Haha that guy needs to take speech class first!

  • great movie.

  • "atta boy Luther!"

  • I saw him getting off of an elevator at a building in hollywood. He looked scared!

  • Don Knotts deserved the academy award for this!

  • That electrician must be a democrat! lmao luther's a crackhead but hilarious

  • He's a good actor but not a very calm speech giver. He needs to relax a little more than what he is. Thats the way I will be more an likely.

  • Um, that's why it's funny.

  • He built his whole career around a nervous character

  • gotta get ur hands dirty to be the master of your craft.

  • "i have been called brave. what is brave.of course we all know that it is short for bra-ver-y."

  • hahahaha !!!

  • Poor Luther. :)

  • That's a bit like me.

    Oh god.

  • I so want to do this in front of people sometime! "Let me clarify this."

  • LOL

  • Oh, and yes it is from Ghost and Mr. Chicken. You can get them all in the Reluctant Hero Collection.

  • Not only one of my favorite movies, but he is one of the greatest comic actors of all time. Atta boy, Luther.

  • i love when he says "let me clarify this" I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

  • lol i love this movie its so funny! i love old tv shows, like gilligans island, addams family, i love lucy, a bunch more. lol. that electrician must be a demecrate. ata boy luther!

  • what a great actor!

  • greatness "let me clarify this." ha!

  • nah, that's from The Shakiest Gun In The West. Classic stuff.

  • Shakiest Gun in the West? I've never seen that one. Although, I can assure you that's not what this is from. It's the Ghost and Mr. Chicken - I uploaded it.

  • yeah, you're correct. my bad. There's a nervous speech in Shakiest Gun in the West when he's leaving Phily to head out west. You gotta see that one

  • Yeah, I'm gonna have to check that one out! =)

  • @DeaPeaJay "Shakiest Gun In The West" is hysterical, that and "Mr. Chicken" are my two favorites Don Knotts movies.

  • That electrician must be a democrat.

  • Atta boy Don!

  • Timeless genius, this guy was one in a zillion!

  • i seriously look and act like this everytime i have to give a speech in front of a crowd. really funny.

  • I hope you're able to find them someday. I've had hours of fun watching these movie gems. Have you tried ebay or columbia house dvd club online?

  • I wish I could, but all my Don Knotts movies are on vhs, not dvd. Sorry about that.

  • I went on a Don Knotts "binge" a few years ago and bought Ghost & Mr. Chicken, Shakiest Gun in The West, The Love God, The Reluctant Astronaut, How to Frame a Figg, and The Incredible Mr. Limpett. All of them are pure Don Knotts Gold. I loved this guy.

  • total timeless greatness, in my opinion. Thanks!

  • "Let me clarify this; thank you for having me." I love this movie.

  • lol i aint seen this movie in a grip. pretty funny shit..

  • I *could*, yes.... I doubt YouTube would like that very much though.

  • I've seen countless movies on youtube, stand by me, misery, the stand, it just to name a few. Please post the rest of this!!!! thank you for posting this.

  • I think if you really like a movie and want to see it, and want to give props to all the hard work that many people put into it, you should just pay the 10 dollars to get the DVD on Amazon. =/

  • Well, guess you can't argue with the logic of that. However, why should I support Amazon? How much of a percentage of the profit amazon makes goes to all the people involved making this film. Corporate america can kiss my ass. But we are fellow don knots fans!

  • ROFLOL! I remember this vid! :D

  • Knotts funniest film moment? I think so.

  • dude i was on an airplane and as we were getting on the pilot said hey guess this movie and he did the "ATTA BOY LUTHER!" and i yelled out the ghost andmr chicken and later in the plane ride he got on the mic and yelled "ATTA BOY ADAM!" HAHA i craked up it was awesome oh by the way my name is adam so yeah lol and he did it for my cuz too

  • I love this movie!!!
