I wonder how that winding mechanism is made? Clayton's site doesn't really show that particular bit. Perhaps you could explain to me? Also.. Where do you buy your 'fine' wood? Australian rosewood? :D Never heard of it... <:P
@MrKaddan : Mate, the best way to understand the wind mechanism is to buy one of Clayton's clock plans. As I'm an ozzie, Australian woods are the easiest to find.
This one is amazing adrian. I have fallen in love with all of these clock videos, and ordered Simplicity plans a day or two ago. I can't wait to get started! And then maybe some day I can build one inside a beautiful tower such as this.
Good on ya mate! You will love the Simplicity. I haven't built one, but it is my favourite design from Clayton and one that is an excellent choice to start the journey with.
Well if you say so.. To please you, I've already ordered the 'simplicity'. Not here yet, but I'm hoping for the plans to comes this next week!

i m impressed..
so u use laser to cut all these wheels?

No, I don't use laser. They are all hand-cut using a band-saw. See my video on "So you want to make a wooded clock"

very pretty work, how long did this take?
ItsaUFOduh 3 years ago
Elapsed time was about 3 months - as I made a design error and got the snots with it. Build time was about 80 hours at a guess.
