omg i remember this game :D i use to play it with my sister all the time :D when i saw it was released for the DS, i got it, but then i was like "WTF IS THIS O.O", brings back so much memories :)
over 10years palying this,so many times beated the last boss, now i wanna know where i can get those last songs? you know? you beat the game and you can check all the tunes :D i want them nall, ill miss my 8 bit nintendo...
does anyone remember how to do power up and original game before you put your 10p in the machine ???? ha ha happy days many a lost hour or 4 on this bad boy i can tell ya......
Wait... If THIS is Bubble Bobble, then what's the game where the characters from this aim some kind of bubble cannon and you have to link up bubbles of the same colour?
At the main title screen, if you do the following, the words "Power up" appear and your man has permanent slipper speed and fast bubbles. Left - Jump - Left - 1P - Left - Fire - Left - 1P.
Another one is "Original game" Fire - Jump - Fire - Jump - Fire - Jump - Right - 1P and you still get treasure rooms even if you've died.
Dude you're supposed to grab the book when it comes up... and milk your guys for more letters... and wait for the candy to get the speedy bubbles... that ghost almost got you on level 6 rookie.
I came across this at a bus station 4-5 years ago and played it for about most of the six hours I was stuck there, first time I played the arcade vesion in at least 15 years at that point and I had forgotten how much prettier the music and visuals were compared to the NES!! Definately takes me back to an arcade I used to hang out at everyday during the summers back in the 80's when we'd go stay at my aunts boring ass cabin in a boring town, that arcade was bout the only thing there!
@ekfromaz1 i was one of the best at this game make like average 5million points with the cheats and take only a quarter i kicked this games ass, stand there forl ike close to an hour haha, that was when i was a young punk but maybe i could show show eachother a thing or 2
We used to play this down at the arcade, probably around 1990? It was 20p a go. We always used to use the power-up cheat, and in fact found it unplayable without (we'd waste 20p rather than play if someone screwed up). Is this version above powered-up? Looks quite nippy.

I have 2 things to say: 1) the NES port was apparently exceptionally well done and 2) this game is entirely too easy and not as good as people say, Pac Man 4 life.

I Agree with the previous commenter, the music in this game rocks! I still remember it going to JR High School back in 86'-87" at the arcade.
One of the best videogame tracks ever. The game is cool too ;)

Only one of the best games ever made with probably the catchiest music ever. Love it!!!!!

linuxlove4004: No truly perfect dump of the game exists. However, the widely-available one should work fine.
