Stephen Hawking's 70th birhtday was celebrated at cambridge while he was unable to attend only send his ,a brief history of mine> to the function. He admit he was not the cleverest in the class and a mediocre ,yet proved himself the most famous scientist inspite of diagnised as suffering from Motor neuron disease when he was 21 beginning his phd in 1963.
I doubt if he were in other parts of the world where people find fault he would have got his first degree.A Siram's singing is tonic to ears.
I dont know why she screams ... never this can be a pleasant journey to hear good carnatic music... I agree she has an open throw but ... she bites a lot on words and such a jarring throw making it pathetic to hear :(
Looking forward to singing by younger generation as well in the future so that the continuity of tradition is assured not fe in audience rocking their heads and older generation have their own show of diverting the attention to the singing indeed.
She sings AAVAR (3rd line-last word) as AADA, which completely changes the meaning of this song both superficially and deeply. Also I dont want to comment anything about her LU pronounciation in the second line - last word.
If anyone is interested in listening genuine thirumurai songs, I would recommend songs by Satgurunadha Odhuvar.
